I love karaoking at home but I love the Asian karaoke experience best. I think its really alot of fun when you can karaoke in a nice private room with friends and have so much fun that you lose track of time. That's why I was really happy to find out that there was such a place here in South Florida. I've been there a total of 3 times and each time it was alot of fun and not to mention each time the staff were really awesome too!
I had always wanted to bring my non-Asian friends to a karaoke place like this since they've never experienced it and had only seen it from movies and anime. At first they were pretty skeptical but after almost a year of tryin to convince them we finally went last night. My friends told me that they thought it wouldnt be fun and that they would just end up sitting there all bored and stuff but they really did get into it and have alot of fun. We only intended to be there for like 2 hours but ended up being there for like 4 1/2 hours since they all had alot of fun.
It was so much fun that my friends want to do it again sometime in the future and we're gonna convince more of our friends to go too. It really is a perfect place for us since it has songs for everyone since they have such a wide selection of songs and alot of different languages too! I was able to sing my Korean and other Asian songs and my friends were able to sing songs they knew too so everyone was happy.
The only thing is the outside does look kinda sketchy but inside its really not that bad and the private karaoke rooms are really nice looking! The first thing ALL my friends said when we walked in the room was "WOW! This looks freakin awesome!" The staff was really nice too...like I mentioned before we ended up staying twice as long as intended and I was paying for a little bit over half of it and having my friends split the rest amongst themselves. Unfortunately they were short of cash but the guy was really nice and said it was ok...so he pretty much gave us $10 off. Which was a really nice thing for him to do especially since it was the first time my friends went there.
Overall it really is a nice place and its a shame that there arent any good reviews for it! My friends and I are definitely going to have another karaoke night here.
My wife and I had been hunting for a new pizza joint for some time when we ate at a pizzaria called Brothers (see review below). The pizza at Brothers was okay and while we were eating, loud music from next door could be heard. The waitress at Brothers told us it was a Karaoke Bar and so after eating I decided to simply check it out.
The first thing I noticed was that there were several black teenagers/young adults standing out in front of the establishment. I went inside and there's only one word to describe it: Ghetto. The moment you open the door, to your immediate left is a foldout table where the DJ set up his equipment and right behind him was a seating area. To the right of the entrance is a poorly made excuse for a bar made of plywood panels from what I saw, and directly in front of the bar was a dance floor which was fairly large enough to accomodate 30 ppl at once.
Around the dancefloor where seats which seemed to be too close to any dancing bodies to be fully enjoyed. A tall white guy spotted me from the back and came up to me with a face that smacked of desperation. He told me to sit down, more aptly, he walked me towards the bar and told me to have a drink. I told him I was in a rush and wanted to get some info about their Karaoke during the weekends at this point the DJ came up to us as well to give me his two cents about what an awesome club this is. Whatever.
Althroughout this exchange I should note that there were a couple of young black girls at the bar drinking that I personally though (I guess I was wrong though) looked to be under age. The decor looked like it had been thrown together by Stevie Wonder, no sense of continouity at all. Seats looked mismatched and the hardwood floor was naked, that is, it wasn't stained, sealed, and buffed - all I saw was grey wood. It reminded me of a barn to be honest.
There was something I noticed, towards the back there seemed to be something, some kind of commotion going on but I couldn't tell exactly what was happening(???).
Even if you paid me, I wouldn't go back to this whacktacular example of a Karaoke "cafe." If you did pay me, I'd tell you I went but in reality I'd probably go and watch paint dry, which seems far more intellectually demanding than the clientele at Muse could ever collectively conceive of.
