Decent Thai restaurant located in Greenwood.   Service is a bit scattered and spotty.   (There were only 5 tables with diners and 2 waitresses, yet it took forever to get our drink orders in)

Like many Thai restaurants, you can customize the level of heat (1-4) of your dishes.   Their hottest (level 4) is called "Thai Hot", which implies it is much hotter than local palates are accustomed to.   However, I found it to just be moderately spicy.

Although not hot enough for my taste, the food was cooked well and quite tasty.

I wonder how the food compares just a few feet west at Thai Spice.  I imagine there are 2 camps and people are fiercely loyal to their side.

I have been a big fan of Thai Spice since I moved to Greenwood. It took a long time for me to jump ship and give My Thai Cafe a shot because I didn't think the food could beat it. As it turns out, everything here meets or exceeds the quality of that at Thai Spice. Presentation is always beautiful, decor is lovely, service is always prompt, price is reasonable, and most importantly, the food is fantastic.

They used to serve a bland vegetable soup with the lunch specials but have recently changed to serving Tom Yum. This was a huge improvement. The lunch special is a great deal. The cucumber salad is the best thing on the menu and goes well as a first course for any of the meals, whether you're having lunch or dinner.

The heat level of their dishes seems to have gotten hotter over time. When I first started going, I would order Thai hot and be disappointed that the sweet still overpowered the hot in a dish. More recently they have been making a dish quite hot when it is ordered this way. I wouldn't say that it meets a traditional "Thai hot" standard, but it is spicy enough for me.

I would recommend that if you tried this place a while back and were disappointed, give it another shot. If you haven't been there and love Thai food, it's a winner of a choice.

We have driven by a few times, but never noticed this out of the way dive until this past week. The outside is buried in a small strip mall and County Line is busy enough without averting your eyes long enough to notice a restaurant. However, we were quickly sat and greeted, drinks in hand under 3 minutes. We both ordered Thai Iced Tea. I don't know what I was expecting, but it tasted like regular iced tea to me. I admit, I was a little disappointed. However, soup came with our lunch and my husband was so quick to order that I didn't even noticed it came with. Some of the veggies tasted quite fresh, but not necessarily frozen (thought I'm sure they were). Was a tasty soup, but very different from what I expected. The lavender rice is shaped in a cute heart. Different by design, but yummy with the lunch order, mini egg roll, and a fried wonton of some sort. The portion was just right for lunch and my husband and I were pleasantly surprised.
We can't figure out why Thai Spice is almost right next door and how this must affect their business, but after we sat down for lunch, 4 or 5 other tables came in, so they certainly aren't hurting for business.
    We will be back!
