Decent Thai restaurant located in Greenwood.   Service is a bit scattered and spotty.   (There were only 5 tables with diners and 2 waitresses, yet it took forever to get our drink orders in)

Like many Thai restaurants, you can customize the level of heat (1-4) of your dishes.   Their hottest (level 4) is called "Thai Hot", which implies it is much hotter than local palates are accustomed to.   However, I found it to just be moderately spicy.

Although not hot enough for my taste, the food was cooked well and quite tasty.

I wonder how the food compares just a few feet west at Thai Spice.  I imagine there are 2 camps and people are fiercely loyal to their side.

I have been a big fan of Thai Spice since I moved to Greenwood. It took a long time for me to jump ship and give My Thai Cafe a shot because I didn't think the food could beat it. As it turns out, everything here meets or exceeds the quality of that at Thai Spice. Presentation is always beautiful, decor is lovely, service is always prompt, price is reasonable, and most importantly, the food is fantastic.

They used to serve a bland vegetable soup with the lunch specials but have recently changed to serving Tom Yum. This was a huge improvement. The lunch special is a great deal. The cucumber salad is the best thing on the menu and goes well as a first course for any of the meals, whether you're having lunch or dinner.

The heat level of their dishes seems to have gotten hotter over time. When I first started going, I would order Thai hot and be disappointed that the sweet still overpowered the hot in a dish. More recently they have been making a dish quite hot when it is ordered this way. I wouldn't say that it meets a traditional "Thai hot" standard, but it is spicy enough for me.

I would recommend that if you tried this place a while back and were disappointed, give it another shot. If you haven't been there and love Thai food, it's a winner of a choice.

We have driven by a few times, but never noticed this out of the way dive until this past week. The outside is buried in a small strip mall and County Line is busy enough without averting your eyes long enough to notice a restaurant. However, we were quickly sat and greeted, drinks in hand under 3 minutes. We both ordered Thai Iced Tea. I don't know what I was expecting, but it tasted like regular iced tea to me. I admit, I was a little disappointed. However, soup came with our lunch and my husband was so quick to order that I didn't even noticed it came with. Some of the veggies tasted quite fresh, but not necessarily frozen (thought I'm sure they were). Was a tasty soup, but very different from what I expected. The lavender rice is shaped in a cute heart. Different by design, but yummy with the lunch order, mini egg roll, and a fried wonton of some sort. The portion was just right for lunch and my husband and I were pleasantly surprised.
We can't figure out why Thai Spice is almost right next door and how this must affect their business, but after we sat down for lunch, 4 or 5 other tables came in, so they certainly aren't hurting for business.
    We will be back!

My wife and I visited for lunch yesterday, our first time there.  She had the red curry, I had the drunken man, both with chicken.  I was disappointed in mine as it had almost no chicken.  Literally 2 pieces.  It was all rice.  I understand it is a rice based entree but I didn't expect it to be all rice.  I've been to other Thai places in Indy and around the country and never had this issue.  The rice tasted good, as did all parts of the meal, but I wouldn't go back for it.  My wife liked her red curry which seemed to have some chicken in it.  We both ordered our food "3 chilis" hot (3 out of 4) but neither of us considered our food even slightly spicy.

The place is nice.  Much nicer than it looks from the outside and the service was friendly and efficient.  We don't have the opportunity to go out to eat all that often so to get us to come back, the food needs to be good enough to warrant our return.  Unfortunately, this was not.

I wish I could give this place five stars as my husband and I ate here a handful of times before and always had a good meal. But the last time we had dinner there, we got food poisoning. It's the only common denominator of our meals that day. I hope it was an isolated case, but needless to say, we won't be going back and I wouldn't recommend it.

So glad to have found this little Greenwood (I know, it's technically in Indy, blah blah) gem! Came here to redeem my Living Social coupon. Delicious food, great service - food was reminiscent of the great Thai joints on the East coast. I personally think their food tastes way better and more authentic than a certain other Thai place just a stone's throw away from this one... Love it, will definitely keep coming back, even to full-price.

Went here after purchasing a Living Social voucher and was very pleasantly surprised!!

When I walk into a restaurant nustled into a cheap looking strip mall, I am never sure what to think. It could end up great or it could end up horrendous.

My mother and I had a delightful meal on a quiet Sunday afternoon.  We each had one of the lunch specials - her, Pad Thai, and myself, Masaman Curry with chicken.

While the flavors were, admittedly, not as good as my personal favorite place (Siam Square), it was very cheap, the service was great, and we got a LOT of food.  The special came with soup, a crab rangoon, a very large entree portion, and lots of rice. YUM. We both got drinks (I got a yummy Thai iced coffee), and combined, barely hit our $20 voucher amount.

The service was wonderful, though the restaurant was very quiet (only one other family and one other couple dined while we did).

I tried the pad thai, and it was very tasty, though not quite as tasty as my curry (though, I am quite partial to a good masaman curry full of filling potatoes and tasty onions and spices, yum).

It might be a little overpriced for regular dinner entrees, but I would highly, highly recommend the lunch specials.

My husband and I had lunch here and were really disappointed.  We originally had intended on eating at Thai Spice, one of our favs but decided to give this a try-never again. First the soup was just horrific; I can't believe they would even serve it. It was literally a bowl of chicken stock with frozen vegetables. For the main dish I got Pad Thai, which was ok but really sweet. It came with a disgusting salad, I say disgusting because the salad dressing was mayonnaise. The lettuce was crisp but who serves mayo as the dressing. My husband and the sweet and sour shrimp, and it wasn't bad. The shrimp was cooked perfectly, it was by far the best thing we had. Next time I will make sure and go back to Thai Spice. I wonder how long they will stay in business with that type of food?

I love this place! I bought a deal on groupon to try out this place since moving from California. The food was sooo delicious. The decorations was nice and the waitress was attentive and our food was quick to be received. If this place wasn't do far where I live I would definitely be going back. I tried the pad seew which was good and som Tom (papaya salad) which was absolutely perfect. It had the perfect blend of sourness, I wish It was spicer, I always assume Thai medium is always spicy. So if you like it spicy go for the 3 or 4 peppers. And I also had larb(chicken), which was great with my steam rice. This place makes great Thai food, and it tastes super authentic. You would not be disappointed.

The other Thai Restaurant on County Line Road across from the Greenwood Park Mall, I'm sure these folks would prefer not to be thought of as "other", but hey, Thai Spice was there first.   My Thai took the space that Thai Spice used to have, when Thai Spice moved to a freestanding building 50 meters away.  You could easily lob your leftover pineapple skin from one store to the other--very strange.  I'm pretty sure the owners of My Thai didn't change a thing to the interior when they moved in, but that's not a bad thing at all--it has a soothing, creamy sheen, like stepping into a frosty glass of Thai iced tea.

Prices might be a little gentler at this one, but the menu items seemed a bit more conventional.  And the spice is not as intense.  But you can still get with as much kick as you need--you just have to aim higher than at Thai Spice, where even the medium is enough to send the average Midwest WASP headed for the hills (in other words, a long walk).  Presentation at My Thai is very good--probably better, and the flavors don't disappoint when it comes to the blend of sweet and scorch with the curries.

It could give the more established Thai Spice a run for its money, except that even the most untalented could probably cartwheel or crab walk the distance between the two.  Are they too similar for both to survive?  Time will tell...in the meantime, southsiders now have a nice "Either/or" proposition when it comes to Thai Food.

I love Thai food and when some of my friends suggested going here, I was right on board.  I've been here twice, once for lunch and last Saturday for dinner.  It's an unassuming little place in a strip mall right by the Greenwood Park Mall.  The first thing I noticed that the decor is really nice for a place like this.

The food is excellent.  Most of the dishes are some sort of meat mixed with veggies, rice or noodles and of course the spices.  In other words, it's about what you'd expect from a Thai place.  They ask you how spicy you want your food when you order it.  Be forewarned though, "Thai spicy" is pretty hot.  My dish tasted great and best of all, it left me satisfied but not so stuffed I couldn't get out of my chair.  The food looks great too, very nicely arranged.  My rice was even shaped like a heart.

We went on a Saturday night and to our surprise, there was barely anyone in there.  I'm not sure why, I suppose it's because there's a lot of competition in the area. There's about 5 million restaurants in the area, plus another Thai place very close by.  In a way, it was nice.  Our server was great and our food came out promptly.  Between the great food, reasonable prices, surprisingly good atmosphere and the fact that it needs more love, I can't recommend this place enough. 5 stars!

Bring me my meal in a pineapple and I'm hooked.  Add in good food, service, and atmosphere, and I'm sold.

Visited recently for lunch. I was surprised the moment I walked in the door. My Thai is  nice for a strip mall place. Great atmosphere. There's an elaborate wood carving partition in the entry and a fountain provides a nice sound of gurgling water. Given the cafe name I expected something simple, like a carryout joint, but it's quite nice.

Service was great. The food was great. Pad Thai was fresh and tasty. My Thai tends not to be as hot as nearby Thai Spice, so adjust as needed. I'll be back to try more on the menu.

My first time having Thai food!  Had a great experience.  The food was both beautiful and tasty.  I don't know how hot Thai food is supposed to be, but David's review sounds right -- order up.  I ordered the medium and definitely could have handled hot.

I ordered the spicy chicken.  For a carnivore like me, it was perfect -- chicken, sauce, rice.  No vegetables to get in the way of meaty goodness.  The breading had a delicious flavor and since it was all dark meat, the nuggets were very tender and juicy.  I wish they would have used a little less breading, though. In some bites, it was overwhelming.  The rice was shaped like a giant heart.  Great presentation!!

Backing up, we started with the appetizers of crab rangoon and spring rolls.  My friend said the spring rolls were delicious.  Stuffed almost to bursting with veggies, they were served cut in half to make little bite size portions.  Always appreciated so shredded cabbage doesn't go flying when you bite into one.  The crab rangoon was make with krab, but had nice big chunks of it and a good amount of filling.  The sauce that came with it was like a spicy duck sauce with crushed peanuts on top.  It appeared possibly homemade.  Very tasty.

I washed it all down with a Thai tea, which tastes almost like a melted tea milkshake.  It was good, but for $2.50, they should use a larger glass or a lot less ice.  I'm guessing I ended up with only about 6 - 7 ounces of tea.

I learned that I am not a fan of Pad Thai, but if you are, get it here.  My friend proclaimed it delicious, and it was the most beautiful dish I've ever seen.  A carrot was cut into the shape of a huge butterfly and placed on top of the dish.  They definitely do not want for presentation at this place.

The service was not bad.  The one complaint is that she didn't check back often enough for our water refills.  We had to flag her down a couple times.

Total check for crab rangoon, spicy chicken, and Thai tea was $22.  Pretty reasonable for the amount I got, with the disclamer about the tea.  I would definitely go back and order a HOT dish.

Awesome little place and slightly cheaper than Thai Spice. I recommend getting the next level up of heat/spice than what you normally would; a medium-heat entrée here is like getting a mild dish at Thai Spice.
