First off, we went there on a Sunday night for dinner and you would think there was a house party going on when you walk up to the door. Â The DJ had the music pumped so loud, even at the back of the restaurant you had to talk really loud to the people across the table from you. Â When ordering, we wanted the calamari, the waitress came back that they didnt' have any, so we decided on appetizer. Â We order dinner, I get a shrimp fish combo and my husband a chicken shrimp combo. Â The waitress comes back that they are out of chicken. Â How do you run out of chicken? Â Needless to say we paid for our drinks and left. Â My head still hurt an hour later even though we were only in there for about 20 minutes.
Review Source:I'm being generous for giving them 1 star. I wish I could put a negative sign in front of it.
I don't know where to start because just about everything was horrible about this place. My husband and I went to N'awlins for lunch yesterday. we got there an hour after opening but yet the staff looked as if we busted them in the middle of cleaning. The waitress gave us a menu and told us they were out of steak. We said that was fine we will stick to seafood. We wanted some drinks but was told that we could not order mixed drinks because the bartender was not there. So we decided to skip to the appetizers.Well I wanted the loaded fries but was told they really wasn't loaded but just had cheese on them. I said I would pass and we ordered crab cakes. Well we received exactly 2 crab cakes. I normally have received at least 4 crab cakes from other restaurants. So we ordered another order of crab cakes. Which meant we spent exactly $17.00 for just 4 crab cakes. The crab cakes were good so we didn't complain. Well I ordered the fish po' boy which was pretty good. My husband had a chicken and shrimp combo. He asked for fried chicken they gave him baked but he didn't say anything because he was really hungry. I asked the waitress for ketchup, she brought me about 5 packs of ketchup. She said that she could not find any bottles of ketchup. I asked if I could have a slice of cheesecake and she said there was no cheesecake although the menu clearly had cheesecake written under desserts.
WE WILL NOT BE RETURNING TO THIS PLACE....
WELCOME TO AMERICA'S WORST RESTAURANT.
Service sucked. The fish tacos had my wife in the bathroom for two days. My fish was mush. Â Then they double charged my credit card and COULD NOT FIGURE OUT HOW TO REFUND ME. Â Finally after three weeks of emails and phone calls, the manager told me to come back to pick up my refund in cash. I live 20 miles away and had trouble finding time to get there since it was around Christmas and when I finally did, I was told to come back a few hours later because the manager wasn't there yet. Â When I voiced my displeasure about this, they insinuated that it was my fault for taking so long to come get my money. Â
At least Groupon refunded me since my experience was so bad. Â I'd be shocked if they are still around in 6 months.
What a joke.  Came here with the work crew.  It took forever to get our food even tho the place was empty.  The fried shrimp meal only included the shrimp...6 tiny little pieces.  The only good meal may have been the fish tacos, but it was a bit awkward  having my friends watch me eat after they had eaten their 6 tiny shrimp.  Will never go here again.
Review Source:I honestly had high hopes when my mother and I visited this restaurant. Like some of the other Yelpers, we should have left after experiencing the sour smell, sticky table and sticky menus, but we decided to stick it out. Boy, what a mistake.
I will spare you all of the gory details, but to sum it up, there was only one waitress working the whole dining room, who lacked in professionalism and promptness, to put it nicely. They were supposed to have corn bread muffins, but ran out and instead served us a burnt pieces of garlic toast that were covered in the black char from a grill that apparently hadn't been cleaned in a long time. And, to top it off, even though the bread was burnt, it was still ice cold. Go figure.
The entrees, were mediocre at best. I had the salmon, while though it was a nice portion, it was tougher and drier than an improperly cooked steak.
During the 20 minutes that it took to flag down the server to get our bill, a family with 2 children came and sat in the booth behind us. They asked the server for a high chair, which she never brought. We overheard them complaining and preparing to leave. We ended up walking out the door at the same time, and I told them that leaving was the best choice they could have made and that I only wished that my mom and I had done the same.
Went to N'awlins Crab House in Lansing on Saturday May 8th for a pre-mothers day celebration and we had a group of 9. LOVED IT! They had a live band playing that was AWESOME ( the band is there on Saturdays and Wednesdays). The food was great... I had the Asian Seasame Salmon with the Red Beans and Rice. The Salmon was great but the Red Beans could use some help. I ordered a Margarita on the rocks and it could not be made which immediately let me know that the bar does not make their own drinks and that was disheartening. The drink that I had was the usual margarita mix (with alcohol already in it) that you could buy from your local Dominicks or Ultra Foods. The atmopshere was beautiful, the appetizers were HEAVEN SENT and the entree's were delectable and not overly priced. Some of my family had the crab legs and lobster which I would highly recommend. The portion size was just right. I will be back on Saturday to see the band again and have that Calamari!
Review Source:i was excited when i glanced over and saw this little place....new orleans seafood.....could be interesting.......so we had to give it a try...twice so far :-)
some of the menu items make you scratch your head....blackened shrimp alfredo? first why would you do this to shrimp..... and then add it to an alfredo sauce? blue crab sandwich...great idea...topped with melted american cheese? Â really WHO came up with this idea? add some cheese to blue crab in new orleans and you will be taken out behind the woodshed....
NO crawfish?? Â new orleans seafood restaurant and NO crawfish? Â i crave it.get it.......
our first visit i had the fish po'boy....huge chunk of perfectly fried fish....i mean giant sized portion...topped with a pretty good remoulade sauce....all sandwiches come with all you can fries that were ok and coleslaw that didnt do anything at all for me, but for $6.49 was a pretty good deal.....my friend had the fish and chips, not traditional in any way but still were good......once againg $6.49 gets you two pieces of a decent fish and fries and slaw.....they also offer haddock and halibut, but why on earth anyone would deep fry halibut is beyond me......
next visit we started with a cup anf chicken gumbo..... lets say the lack of a roux was noticed in the first spoonful....was ok for a soup, just not a gumbo.... i love me some fish tacos and this place has 5 different kinds.... i went with the fried calamari tacos...... hey sounded good and i was right....2 flour tortillas stuffed with perfecty cooked squid rings with a really good flavored white sauce and pico, served with slaw that was again, meh, and red beans and rice, no real flavor at all and very dry, not the creamy goodness you want with good RBnR... my friend had the pan fried catfish that was actually really good, you need to add that to your po'boy menu..... came with some good garlic taters and hushpuppies......
very friendly people working here and super clean...
not a bad litte place....with a few things done a little different and a few menu changes it could be a hot little spot....but with Dixie Kitchen right down the street....they need to kick it up a notch pretty quick....maybe they will give me a call and i can teach them how to make real red beans and rice and a proper gumbo :-)
but yah i will be back
