6/30/13 My wife and in-laws stopped at the Nice Ash (downtown Waukesha). Â They have 80 bourbons/scotches/whiskeys and several nice beer taps. Â I'm a big fan of New Belgium's seasonal Dig which they had on tap (can't find it in Madison any more). Â We also enjoyed High West's Rocky Mountain and a chocolate bourbon by another maker. Â All were great. Â The place had a nice cigar/hookah smell (not stink). Â They had multiple hookah flavors and every kind of cigar wanted except Cubans of coarse. Â I'm not sure their walk in humidor was truly functioning, but I'm no expert. Â The price tag for all our libations was very reasonable. Â Dare I say cheap!?!
Review Source:Nice ash used to be a favorite of mine.  Great selection of cigars and the hookahs are not to bad (little  overpriced).  I have been a regular for quite some time spending a reasonable amount of money and always trying to over tip.  However, today pissed me off and I am now not going to be going back.  Today, I was there for a quick meeting and only had a soda.  My bill was only 1.50 but the lady said I could not use my credit card.  It's all I had so I had to go buy a cigar to cover their threshold.  What a crock and a terrible way to treat a good customer. Â
So, I left them the cigar as they clearly need the money more than I do.
I want to hand out an additional star on this one, because Nice Ash is special. Â I will start with why it is special, and then explain the "falling star." Â You feel like you have entered a speakeasy, an exclusive joint, when you enter this cigar bar. Â With a No Smoking ban statewide, you feel transported to a time of Prohibition. Nice Ash has quite the stock in their walk-in humidor. Â It is a room of Cubanic proportions. Â The bar falls short in a major area though: ambiance. Â The decor is a little bowling alley-esque. Â It needs to translate the image that comes to mind when picturing a cigar aficionado--muted cool, chic, dark--in the furnishings and lighting. Â There are a few leather chairs that would do well throughout. Â I would do away with "extras" like Golden Tee and the electronic poker machines. Â I would ask Don Draper for some interior design advice. Â With that touch of cool, Nice Ash will hit the 5-stars it truly deserves.

Stopped here for a cigar and drink while between wedding service and wedding reception several weeks ago.
if this wasn't a cigar bar, I would swear it would be a high end sports bar with it's many flat panel big screen tv's and large comfy leather chairs.
Walk in humidor with good selection of cigars. Â They have a fantastic ventilation system to remove smoke as my party of 4 had 2 non-cigar smokers who were not bothered by the smoke.
You must be ok with cigar smoke as this large bar has a humidor inside with the largest selection of cigars I have ever seen. And they have flavored hookahs, so smoke is always in the air. Since their expansion, the new air purifiers do help, but it's still very smoky.
Decent selection of tap beers that aren't typically found and reasonably priced. Live music usually every Friday and Saturday night brings in crowds, but you will never feel squeezed into this bar. If you are lucky, you can even relax in the comfy, oversized leather chairs.
You will not meet nicer owners anywhere. Jeff and Joette are always present and willing to have conversations with anyone and their daughters both bartender. The staff has all been there for a few years and are very personable. Â
There is a room in the basement that can be rented out for parties, fittingly named "The AshHole" for a minimal deposit.
For me, this place usually results in a cab ride home and a rough morning after. I used to work in Waukesha and a few times a year the guys from the old shop and I will meet at Nice Ash and I cannot think of a single time that I didn't have an almost dangerous amount of fun. Anytime a bar keeps Alpha King on tap I'm gonna be a fan, but then you add the cigar selection and live music and the social clientele and it makes for a good night.
