This homey little place is the taste of Italy. Hands down, the best pizza in the universe. The dough of the pizza is undescribable, where its thin, crunchy, and doughy.  They also use fresh ingrediants from their own garden. The drive and wait is worthwhile.

I am speechless at the divinity my wretched gut experiences from the first bite to the last.  The margherita and the garlic pesto I had the luck to have tasted elevated my soul and restored my faith that there is a god who loves us all.  The crust is a bread-lover's masterpiece, the oven that births it a marvel of magical chemistry!  There is such a deep and dazzling simplicity in this majestic work of culinary art...

I haven't been to Italy so I can't speak to that, but as far as I am concerned this is one of the best pizza places I've ever eaten.

Do NOT expect your standard pizza parlor fare of thick greasy cheesy pizza. Don't come to feed the kids wings or spaghetti and meatballs, because they only do pizza and a few salads. Expect small tables (and/or to share a long communal table in the middle) - they only have like 7 tables (double in the warmer months with outdoor seating) and since the pizza oven is right in the middle of the room, it's always hot inside!!  Pies are not cheap, but don't expect to feed a whole family one giant pizza for 12 bucks - the pizzas are individual and in the 12-16 range.

DO expect deliciousness. Prime local ingredients (spicy sausage to die for) or imported Italian ingredients, a wonderful light tomato sauce, fresh seasonal specials (last night they offered a pizza made with bleu cheese, pears, topped with arugula and candied nuts that sounded awesome). But whatever you choose, it's all good. I was in the mood for a margherita, with anchovies. Otherwise I usually order the spicy sausage pizza, with carmelized onions it's my absolute favorite. They had a rare special of a clam pizza, too. I had one at another local place a while back, and it was absolutely mushy like linguini with clam sauce, minus the pasta. But I could tell just looking at the one the person at the table next to us ordered, that their version was covered with nice clumps of clams that had obviously been drained, and I could see the crust was still firm when they cut into it.

"Insider" tip - if you want really super-thin crust, ask for your pie to be made "Roma" style. We tend to like our pizza extra-well-done, but if not specified (and the one ding against the high rating is sometimes the middle of the crust can get a little soggy or under-done).

This is the best pizza I've ever had. I'm not generally a fan of thin crust, but that isn't what makes this pizza so good. I mean... it was just the flavor. The pizza sauce was sublime -- probably due to some combination of fresh ingredients and masterfully added spices. There was just so much going on in my mouth with every passing bite; frankly, I doubt that I am learned enough in the culinary arts to articulate what this pizza tasted like properly.

It was a completely novel experience for me. I thought that I had tried Neapolitan pizza before, but perhaps it just wasn't at this level of quality. Eating this pizza instilled within me the wonder of a child experiencing something new and wonderful for the first time. It felt like scoring a goal for the first time, kissing a girl for the first time, or getting high for the first time --  thrilling, the beginning of a lifetime full of lust.

The Caesar salad was also legit. And my girl's hair looked pristine the night that I took her here -- she had just gotten it done at a salon hours prior, and it was soft, blonde, and full of volume, sort of like a lion's mane. Honestly, being on a date with a girl whose hair looked like that made my experience here even better than would normally be possible.

This is a great place for dinner if you're in the mood for a simple, yet delicious salad & pizza. Combinations are great, and they use high end ingredients, my only complaints would be that they don't take reservations for small parties and the salad is left in whole-leaf form and you have to cut it yourself so the dressing doesn't get evenly distributed like a tossed salad.

I don't understand why this restaurant got such great reviews. Pizza was good, not bad but there are several things you have to understand. This place is really claustrophobic. We were seated in a communal table w a bunch of random strangers and I felt like I couldn't move my arms because I would bump into them. Really awkward. You can't have a nice private dinner in that environment. Second, long wait for table and there's no waiting area?! The lady in front was asking people to wait outside in the cold or wait in their car. That's crazy. Third, they don't accept credit card, really inconvenient. We ate our food and try to run out of their as fast as possible. Not a pleasant or relaxing night out.

Friendly staff and attentive.... Great service and great pizza.
Started the night with an arugula salad then shared the Filetti pizza.
Crust had a perfect texture and overall had great flavor.  The size of the pie is around 16 inches so is enough to share.

I can't wait to go back to try other flava flaves.
A must go..why? Bc you can trust my taste buds and knowledge...
    Food rating: 4.2
Overall rating: 3.7/8 why??? Cash only...seriously?

This is not your typical "pizza" place. Everything here is made with fresh, locally-sourced ingredients (like basil from the garden outside). We drive well over 1 hour to eat here and never regret it. I wish they would open up a store closer to home!

Best Caesar I've every had, great ingredients on pizza, very inventive pizzas - NOT SO GOOD CRUST.  Pizzas came out looking great - but were a little underdone regardless of the nice burnt edges. Bottoms were floppy and a little soggy.

I applaud their attempt but they really need to work on their temperature control and timing. overall its not bad - but it's a bit of a let down after reading the menu and anticipating what should be great pizza.

Service was just ok - a glass with ice for my bottle of ice tea - is that too much to ask for?

Ive only been here once and will try again...

My 5 year old loved the pizza.

I am not a pizza fan, but am very picky - and this place was good - so for what that's worth they must be doing something right....

remember to bring cash - no credit cards.

We came here on a Sunday night and had a 15 minute wait in our car. They called us when a table was available. We ordered the spicy sausage pizza and prosciutto pizza. Sausage was nice and spicy and the prosciutto special pizza was pretty good. The only disappointment was when I ordered unsweetened iced tea. I was told that they had black tea and was it ok. I said yes and was given a bottle of Joe Tea. Didn't expect that. If I knew I was going to get a bottle, I wouldn't have ordered it. Service was nice. Got a piece of chocolate with our bill. Will return!

Locally-sourced ingredients and interesting combinations makes for delicious pizza. We decided on half the special NJ corn pizza with NJ sweet corn, spicy peppers, mozzarella, and sausage and half the spinach pizza. The corn pizza was a little sweet and a little spicy, all yummy. The spinach wasn't over cooked and the pizza was salty. Again...delicious. I'm not used to the whole BYOB thing so I'm not a fan of it. I would definitely use Nomad Pizza if a needed a caterer for a relaxed event. Will return for more pizza soon.

Nomad was one of the food vendors for this year's Jazz Feast in Palmer Square.  Their pizza is amazing!!  They offered the pepperoni and the margarita pizza which we got both.  The ingredients they used were so fresh and the crust was tasty and super light.  There were many vendors at this event and I was originally disappointed when my husband chose a pizza place over all the unique variety of foods to have for lunch.  But once I tasted their pies, I was pleasantly surprised and glad we chose to eat from here.   It was a hot day and we did a lot of walking. the food did not make you feel disgusting or thirsty afterwards.  I would definitely go to the restaurant to try their other selections!

If you love pizza and love to eat clean, organic food, this is your place. The salads are terrific - have had the arugula salad and Greek salad...both of which were made from local produce. The pizza is terrific - thin crust, fresh ingredients. It's BYOB which I love too. It's very busy here and inside they use large family style seating in addition to offering 2 top tables. Try to go early when they open for the evening. They take cash or check only.

Pizza is fantastic and creative; Atmosphere is lovely; And, really, who doesn't love a BYO?

However, the wait staff can be unresponsive and impolite, to the point where I feel I am supposed to thank them for allowing me to dine in the establishment. I am a Hopewell local, born and raised, and have never been made to feel as alienated or unwelcome as I have been at Nomad for sitting at my table to long, or for asking for my wine to be chilled.

The pizza? Fantastic, but I'll take it to go.

Nomads.  Spumoni Gardens.  De Lorenzos.  In that order.

Super fresh and local ingredients (some even grown on site), fun atmosphere and without a doubt, the best pizza you can get.  Whether it's their oven or what (I'm guessing that's a big part of it), you can't beat this.  The crust is very similar to naan, but not as thick or buttery.

Great salads and BYO.  Arugula pizza is amazing - as is the shiitake mushroom pie.  There are always great specials and a long wait, be prepared (maybe BYO two bottles).  Service has always been kind (thanks Steve) and kid friendly.  Outdoor seating if the weather is right, and a small indoor dining room (with a  few small tables and one long communal table).  You'll spend more a few $$ even with bringing your own liquor, and don't forget your checkbook - no credit cards accepted.

These guys even have a REO Speedwagon outfitted with a pizza oven that for a small fortune you can have come out to your own event.

Four words: I love Nomad Pizza.
Years ago, it was Soup du Jour, a pretty little dollhouse-size place that served terrific homemade soup and sandwiches. I was sad when it closed because Hopewell is a great town and it deserves to have great places to eat.
Fortunately Nomad renovated the old Soup du Jour building and started serving what might possibly be the world's best pizza. Or maybe Dilorenzo's in Hamilton Square is the best; I can't decide.
The bottom line is EVERYTHING at Nomad is perfect: pizza, salads, beverages, the complimentary post-meal chocolates from a little confectionary in New Hope, PA, the terrace overlooking the garden where they grow their own herbs, EVERYTHING.
And the waitstaff are some of the nicest people around.

Neapolitan pizzas using local, organic ingredients.

Nomad serves up delicious 10" neapolitan style pizzas from a beautiful oven. The crust is thin, but not crisp, chewy instead with puffy end crust.  The ingredients are the freshest of fresh.  The owner is actually on-site making the pies while you wait in their small, rustic dining room.  The menu consists of pizza and 4 salads.  I can't steer away from my usual - Arugala salad and a Margherita di Bufala.  Amazing.  I promise you will not be disappointed. Al fresco dining in the warmer months.  BYOB.  Cash only.  No reservations.

Worked in the restaurant business in Princeton for some time and I know my way around a plate, even did a few stints at pizza parlors. With that being said Nomad pizza is the absolute BEST PIZZA I have ever had. I moved to Manhattan last year and have tasted the best the city has to offer and let me tell you, I lay awake in my apartment dreaming of Nomad. My girlfriend and I frequently talk of hopping on a train and getting a pie, her favorite:Prosciutto arugula. Mine: pepperoni!

In addition to the amazing pizza, the salads are a fantastic light way to begin, AND it's BYOB fuggettaboutit.

Oh yeah, the staff is great too!

Cutest place. Cutest staff. I visited a friend this past weekend in the burbs and we ventured to Hopewell to try this place. Well worth the trip. The hostess could not have been nicer. The pizza was delectable - straight from the brick oven (which made the place the coziest) we had the shitake mushroom pizza and the spinach. They were so accommodating that we didn't even mind waiting the wait for a table. When it's nicer out I want to go and sit outside in the cute patio area. Oh, and it's BYO which is amazing. There are very few of them left in NYC so I really appreciate it when I come across it. If you're from the area you should get there NOW.

SUCH A FAN!  You have to try the shitake mushroom pizza with an egg on top.  It is rather decadent so this cannot/should not be your meal, but the pizzas are too good just to order your own.  Please order a variety and share with a table of friends.

Like most NJ restaurants this is a BYOB establishment so be sure to stop and grab some adult beverages before arriving.  They do have ice buckets for your wine in case you are a white wine drinker.

PROS: Ambiance, BYOB, dough, local ingredients....EVERYTHING

CONS: The air conditioners by the windows do tend to drip, so make sure your purse is not in its path :)

This review is strictly for the truck, which I got to visit (haven't made it to the actual location!) during Communiversity in Princeton. We waited in line for a while, but luckily they parked their truck down the further end of Nassau, so the line wasn't as long as the other premium food stands were.

Nonetheless, I will wait for pizza from Nomas. My friend and I got five pies to bring back to our work- all the regular tomato pies. They came out piping hot and absolutely delicious. Not too much cheese, saucy, and dotted with basil. The pizza makers and staff were so very nice despite it being busy, crowded, and hot!

I will make it out to their location in Hopewell soon, i have been meaning too!

Yum! I got to try Nomad pizza at the Night Market yesterday in University City, Philadelphia. The crust was so thin and yet so perfectly doughy! Mozzarella was plentiful and deliciously charred. I don't eat red meat, but the pepperoni looked excellent- huge slices that crisped up at the ends.

Prices were extremely fair- $9 for a pie. I asked if the prices would translate to their up and coming Center City location. The man behind the truck said no- $12 a pop. Not bad, but not great. The pies served at Night Market were not large.

While I'm bummed that Horizons in Bella Vista is closing, I'm glad it's being replaced by fantastic brick oven flavor.

Coolest thing EVER - authentic, delicious brick oven pizza made in a *truck* (a 1949 REO Speedwagon, to be exact).

I was lucky enough to participate in the CureSearch Walk in Princeton today and the Nomad Pizza Truck was on the scene serving up margharita and pepperoni pizza to the walkers.  How awesome!  Crust was super thin, but it wasn't crispy or too charred.  Organic, local ingredients.  Need I say more?

If you've got big bucks and want to impress your friends and family, the Nomad Pizza Company will cater your party event right out of the truck, serving up pizza, salad and even dessert buffet-style.  My kind of catering!

Nomad's website has a list of events posted, so check it out.  I hope to find the truck in my area again soon!

After seeing the adorable Nomad pizza truck out and about at a community event, we just had to go back.  We took along some other people who had recently been to Italy as our pizza experts.  Now that the weather has warmed up, Nomad was definitely busier than last time, but we were fortunately able to be seated within half an hour.  In the meantime we got some glasses and sipped on wine hanging out in the garden, so not a bad time...

The arugula salad was again on special (yay!!).  This time we tried some of the white pizzas, the four-cheese with caramelized onions (special), and the shiitake (menu), and a red, the pepperoni.  The pepperoni was flavorful and delicious, I love salty smoked meats.  Our favorite by far was the four-cheese... loads of cheese, and caramelized onions put it over the top.

Our Italian pizza experts were very happy and satisfied, so we are fairly confident in our positive reviews :)

For someone with high standards for pizza, this place hits the mark. Neapolitan pizzerias are few and far between in the U.S. and good ones are even harder to come by. They serve up very good, extremely thin crust pizzas with the what are obviously the freshest of ingredients. You can't go wrong with the margherita but they have a wide selection if you're feeling adventurous.

It's tucked away off the main road of a small town in the middle of nowhere but it's worth the trip if you're looking for great pizza or are longing for Italy but don't have the means to get there as often as you'd like.

Hopped over Hopewell again last week and after reading all the reviews we HAD to try this place.  We called in for a pickup (too cold for outdoor seating) around 6:30, and they said it would only be 20 minutes.  (I was pleased, especially after reading they usually have a huge wait.)  Four of us jumped in the car and picked up our goodies...Here's the consensus:

    1)  Clam Pizza - Very dry!  Almost like a cracker w/ clam bits...(however, this could be b/c my Dad threw it in the oven for a few minutes and it could have dried out)  Pretty tasty though.

    2)  Arugula and Prosciutto - We'll never know b/c they gave us a Margherita instead...

2a) Margherita  - DELICIOUS!  The cheese was so fresh and creamy!  UNBELIEVABLE!  You must try!

Even with their bad behavior ;) I'm still giving them a 4/5 b/c the Margherita was sooo delish!  (And I'm not even a huge pizza fan...don't tell anyone, though.  I'm from NY and not loving pizza is liable to get you "off-ed".)

Oh sure, there are better places you could go for pizza....IN ITALY!

I love so many things about this place, too many to write in prose, too many to make this review helpful to others who may want to visit.  So I'll write in list form for once.

-The brick oven is covered in bright blue Venetian tile and it says NOMAD in white tile across the front.  Badass.  Obviously shipped from Italy.

-Organic garden growing out front to supply produce and herbs.

    -They use organic flour.

    -They have buffalo mozzarella

-The only things they serve are pizza and salad.  That's IT.

-You eat the pizza with a knife and fork.

-They give you little pieces of dark chocolate with your check.

-It's a family style restaurant, so you all sit together on a long bench at a long table and break bread.

-It's a BYOB.  By now we should all know how I feel about BYOBs.

-You can watch them make your pizza, showing that the chefs are proud of their kitchen and keep it very clean.

I think I covered just about everything I could for the moment.  The thing about nomad is that you just have to go there to be able to get the feel of it, and further, that the feel of the restaurant is one of the most positive things about it.  There are not many places left in the area that have authentic food and atmosphere that properly capture the culture of a far off land.  Nomad is fighting the homogenization of our food with every last bite, down to the crust.

Princeton has pretty shitty food.  Having found Nomad means finally being excited about eating dinner in this area!  The pizza is, simply put, amazing.

The wait was long, around an hour, but I didn't mind it.  My party and I hung out in the lush, charming garden area and drank our wine.  The restaurant has outdoor seating, and the general restaurant is surrounded by looming trees, a quiet neighborhood, and the garden.  It is the perfect place to have pre-dinner drinks and chat.

Order the thin crust pizza- it is crispy, with those perfect burnt edges, with minimal sauce, and delicate disks of cheese.  The margherita was over $10- but to those who complained about the price, this kind of pizza in NY, and northern NJ is often far worse, and more expensive.  And, eating in the Princeton area is hardly ever cheap, and hardly ever as good.  My party of three ordered four pizzas (I insisted on four, being the glutton), and it was way too much food.

If you can, sit outside.  Inside is a bit small, and it is busy.  I didn't mind, because the meal was so good and I was overwhelmed by the pizza.  We ordered the thin margherita, the thick one with sausage, a special with gruyere, and the best being the thin with prosciutto with arugula.

I had some of their pizza at an event they catered in Princeton: it's pretty cool how they have a little brick oven right in the vehicle!

I had the pizza magrita and it was great, also HOT! :o But that's fresh outta the oven, so I was just impatient.

My only problems with it were, well maybe this was just for catering, but the pies were small, and slices were smaller. Also, SUPER thin crust left me craving something more. But I'd try some again, perhaps...

As the pizza war wages in the central Jersey area, there is a strong new contender on the scene - Nomad Pizza.  They're definitely doing something different than the rest (yah!) and doing it quite well.

Nomad serves two styles of pizza - Napolitana and Romana.  The Napolitana is a chewier crust while the Romana is crispy and paper thin.  All pizzas are made in Nomad's Italian wood fired brick oven.  This means that the pies are slightly charred.  So be prepared for that.  Many of the ingredients including meats are organic, and are locally sourced or grown on the property.  They also use San Marzano tomatoes which are simply delicious.

In addition to pizza, they also offer a few salads.  We had the bleu cheese salad and were a bit disappointed since it was lacking in ... bleu cheese.  It also had a very sparse sprinkling of tomatoes and pecans.  They need to be more generous with that.

My other complaint was our waitress.  My main focus when I go to a restaurant is the food.  I don't care about atmosphere and don't care too much about service, as long as it's not too horrible.  So, wow.  Our waitress was out there.  She brought us our check after the salad course (but before we got our pie) and then when we actually wanted our check, left us sitting there for 15 minutes.  The place isn't that big.  Then when she brought us our change, the accompanying ticket was for another table who had a $65 tab.  Definitely not on the ball.

In addition to the restaurant, Nomad caters and sells pizza at festivals from their 1949 REO Speedwagon that is outfitted with a wood burning oven.

Once they work out a few kinks and get rid of the space cadet waitress, they could be bumped up to five stars.

Please note, there is a handicap ramp to get into the restaurant however, there is no way a wheelchair can fit into the bathroom.

    Food-3 stars
    Atmosphere-3 stars
    Service-3 stars

    The Good:
Very cute place in the heart of Hopewell. Top notch ingredients (including many herbs from their own garden) are used to make thin & thinner pizzas.

    The Bad:
I can usually overlook a staff mistake or two, but bringing our check 10 minutes after taking our order then questioning us like we were trying to get a second pizza for free is a bit much.  Although considering how thin the pizzas are (not a bad thing) I can see how that might happen. Hmmm...  anyway, the food was good, not great. I liked our Margherita pizza, but could do with less burnt/charred areas and a little more fresh basil. Our bleu cheese salad sounded amazing on the menu, but in fact was merely a plate full of mixed greens swimming in balsamic with very VERY few pieces of pecans, tomatoes, or bleu cheese. I mean, it's in the name you'd expect to have some you know, bleu cheese! A real minus for me.

    The Ugly:
The creepy statue that overlooks the garden waiting area! Nomad has a lovely garden-side outdoor waiting area that is lorded over by a statue of an emotionless face mask. I kid you not when I say it looks like a cross between Michael Myers of Halloween and Jason's hockey mask from Friday the 13th sitting dominantly in the corner of the garden. This ode to horror is visible from most every area in the restaurant, or in fact gives the impression that YOU are the one that is visible anywhere in the restaurant!  Very VERY creepy!

I can also see how the ugly may be the wait on a Friday night or in the winter.

    To know:
It's BYO and there is a bar across the street where you can buy beer.
    Cash or Check only
    No slices, whole pies only

Discovered this place over the weekend and it was EXCELLENT.

The crowd has a very attractive/relaxed Park Slope feeling (vs my hometown crowd up the road in Princeton, which often feels Upper East Side stuffy).

The wait was exactly what the host predicted (30 minutes at 6:15PM) and the salad and pizza were well worth it. Yes, the salad. I mean, what pizza place makes salad good enough to mention much less rave about? This place! Home grown greens are perfectly dressed and the tomatoes, pecans and blue cheese added flavor but didn't overwhelm the amazingly fresh mix of lettuces.

Little Guy wanted to try both plain and pepperoni pizzas (that's my boy!) so we ordered one of each. They are around 14 inches so there was plenty to share with leftovers for Big Guy who was stuck working in the City. Excellent chew and char. Pepperoni were massive! The cheese and sauce were in perfect balance with the crust.

No desserts but they hand out free chocolate with your check, which Little Guy just loved. Definitely coming back next time we're out visiting the grandfolks.

MUST NOTE: BYOB and CASH ONLY!

I tried Nomad Pizza for the second time, the first was from their catering truck at the New Jersey wine festival. I had the Spicy Sausage Pizza, this was very good. The Caramelized Onions really gave the Pizza a unique flavor. I also had the Margherita di Bufala Pizza, this was still good but not as impressive as the Spicy Sausage. The fresh Basil was burnt, I think they should add the fresh leaf herbs after cooking so they don't burn and lose their flavor.

This is not your ordinary corner pizza joint. The pizzas are small, slightly larger then a individual pizza. They are also a little pricy, most are $14.00. You do get very good quality for the extra price. Keep in mind if you take some hungry kids here they might be unimpressed by this high-end pizza. You will also be wondering why you dropped $50.00 and the kids aren't happy. But if you or your kids have a sophisticated palate then this is the place for you.
