Not impressed.
No antipasto plate.really??
The appetizers they have do not match well with wine. They do offer a nut, fruit & cheese plate. Nuts with my wine? No thanks. Â
The atmosphere is nice..the food--not so much.
We have been there twice now..first we ordered the balsamic pepperoni pizza. Â I guess its our fault for not paying attention.but this pizza had no sauce. Â
We gave it a second chance and wanted to go get a few glasses of wine and share an appetizer. Â We couldn't find an appetizer that looked good to even eat with wine...at a wine bar. Â
Sorry NW Vintage. Poor menu choices & food that doesn't match.
We were looking for a place to relax after signing documents on a new home in the near by area.
Northwest Vintage is located in a very quaint shopping complex, and we were extremely surprised and pleased by what we found.
We took up on the option to sit in one of the sofa/club char sections with a fireplace. It was a very relaxing experience.
The wine selection is pretty good, I'd like to see them carry at least one Rhone style wine, because it would be an excellent paring with the style of food they have on the menu.  We started with a appetizer of the bruscheta  I had a nice hearty red and my partner had one of the specialty martini's.  The waiter who was taking care of us was knowledgeable, prompt and courteous.
We moved on to entrees I had a pasta dish with the Spanish prawns and my partner had the one of the chicken dishes on the specials list. Â The entrees were excellent. Â
We moved on to a desert, I had the creme brûlée and my partner had the caramel apple cheesecake, again they were both great.  Now I'm really picky on the creme brûlée, more so than others, my preference would have been that the custard was a bit more firm and the hard crack sugar was a bit thicker and the flaming of the sugar a bit more even
We will be back!!
++Great wines. Â Staff is generally pretty knowledgable about wines, great place to sample wines if you're not sure what you like.
++Great atmosphere
+Good food
+Wait staff is generally pretty good. Â I've been pleased with their service every time I've gone with the exception of once, when there were only two other couples there, but it still took 20+ minutes for the waitress to take our order and another 30+ minutes after ordering for our food for it to arrive. Â Other than that one time though service has been good, friendly and prompt.
-Appetizers seem a little over priced when it's not Happy Hour. Â Not excesively so, just a little bit.
There was nothing to really compliment the place. It was very nice looking with good outdoor seating, the wine selection left something to be desired, with very few sampler options to try multiple wines. You either bought by the glass or the bottle and if you didn't like it oh well. The prices on the wine weren't spectacular wither, I've paid less for better wine in San Fransisco wine bars and in wine country. Having just moved from the wine country area I was excited for a nice looking wine bar, but was left disappointed.
Being a wine bar they put alot of emphasis on their food, which was incredibly mediocre as well. I ordered their caprese(tomatoe, mozerella, and basil) the basil was bruised the tomatoes diced and the croutons were covered in basalmic. It had an acidic taste to it, a caprese should be a crisp bread with a thin slice of tomatoe, not diced, with a thin slice of mozerella and a basil leaf. Basalmic and oil should be served in a dish not on the plate as it can ruin the delicate smooth flavor. I have been professionally cooking for years and this was disappointing. Also had several other platters that were less than stunning this was just the most memorable.
I wouldn't really recommend this place to most people.
Went for happy hour a few days ago and it was really good. I ordered the 7" veggie pizza and was really happy with my choice. Their sauce has really good flavor although the crust seemed like it may have been from a restaurant supply or something. I don't think it was homemade but for $7 it was totally worth it. My boyfriend ordered  the BBQ chicken sliders and enjoyed his order as well. He said they used a mustard based BBQ that he really liked and it was a nice change from traditional sauce typically served with sliders. I had a blackberry twist martini and it was tasty. A bit sweet for my liking but still fun to try.
Atmosphere is decent. It is very clean which I appreciate. They have a large space which is filled with leather couches and nice big tables. It is a new building and I think they have done a good job giving it some character. Northwest Vintage is a wine bar, so don't think the "vintage" term has anything to do with their decor. It is a relatively new location and it is very new feeling inside.
The staff was really nice and friendly. The employees seemed to get along well and everyone looked clean and professional. My only service issue was that we ordered one of the olive and nut plates to snack on while we waited for our larger portions and it ended up coming out after our pizza and sliders. The bartender did note this and made a joke that it would seem putting together that plate would take less time than a pizza. It was nice that he acknowledged it and it really wasn't a big deal but I would have preferred the kitchen prep it 1st.
We'd go again. The happy hour menu was a great deal with a nice selection. It is a nice place and very inviting that I could see really filling up on a weekend night. I am looking forward to going back and trying the dinner menu.
Another yummy meal!!! We absolutely love this place!!! It's our new favorite. Â The ambiance is amazing! Â Everyone there is exceptionally nice. The food is phenomenal!!! Â Haven't had anything we didn't love. Â The mushrooms & crab dip are always our starters. The Blackberry Twist is to die for!!! Â The salmon has been my favorite meal so far!! Â The best dessert I've had was the coconut cheesecake. It is truly like heaven in my mouth!!! Â Ask for Amanda's section, she's the best!!! Â Love chatting with Nicola, she's got a great thing going!!! Thanks everyone for the wonderful experience yet again!!!
Review Source:Stopped in for the first time last night. First of all, the it felt really cozy and comfortable for how big of a place it is, and I loved the color scheme and decor. We enjoyed a couple of their all day Sunday happy hour apps along with a cocktail as we looked over their menu. The menu items sounded delicious and we look forward to going back to enjoy them first hand. Everything coming out of the kitchen looked fabulous and I can't wait to try them first hand soon.
Their Blackberry Twist martini was DELICIOUS, and my kind of cocktail! The staff was very friendly. The bistro bake app was delicious and the black bean hummus was nice too. Prices were good & competative without being as expensive as I had heard. Sad to see their downtown cafe closing, but Congratulations to them with their bigger location at Sunrise Village. Much success is wished to them!!!!
My husband and I went here after I purchased a living social deal that gave us 2 wine flights (3 nice sized pours each) and a cheese plate for $18 - normally about $32. Â We were there on a Friday night and arrived relatively late (9pm), they close at 10, so I was worried about feeling rushed out. Â However, when we arrived there were about 6 tables and I figured we would be fine. Â The waitress was very attentive and the selection of wine is absolutely full of Northwest favorites, which I love to see.
My only complaint is that they do close at 10, I would have absolutely stayed for another glass of wine if our bill hadn't been dropped and the music turned off at about 10:01. Â I think there is a lot of potential to increase business and hit a couple of up-sells by staying open a little bit later.
We'll be back though.
This is my FAVORITE hang out spot in all of Puyallup. Â It has the best atmosphere, friendly staff and a small but tasty menu and some really great Northwest Wines. Â The Black Barrell Merlot is one of thier staples and is always a good selection. Â They have a great martini list too! Â Either location (DownTown Puyallup or South Hill) is highly recommended.
Review Source:This wine bar is really nice inside. I've been there twice now and was more impressed the second time. The wine & service was good. We ordered the steak medallions and they were just "ok" but the chicken and bacon Mac n Cheese was delicious. I hope the menu gets better but I'll definitely go back again:)
Review Source:Amazing food, the martinis can't be beat, and the service is great. Just a lovely little place. It's nice to go somewhere in downtown Puyallup with a little class! :) I just gave them 4 stars because their prices could be a hair lower, and the cheese platter I ordered once was pretty gross.
Review Source:I travel all over the country and love wine bars...I am so happy there is finally one at home!!
The food, service, and wine selections are AWESOME!!!
I wish there were a couple nightly specials like a ladies night, or date night. Â Also, I wont ever beable to enjoy happy hour because I work during those hours...if it was from 3-6 or 4-7 would be wonderful!!
I will be back very soon....thank you!
NW Vintage is located where Fondi Pizza used to be (what happened?) and they have greatly upgraded the decor, atmosphere, etc. The place has a good feel and the electric fireplaces didn't bother me. My only complaint was the music. Too loud and poorly chosen. Jazz or some American Standards would probably fit in better. Also, I like television as much as the next guy, but why have one at a place like this? The sound was down, but it was still distracting.
Our waiter was new to his profession but had a great attitude and was very attentive.
We split a bottle of WA Cabernet (Goose Ridge) and 3 appetizers. All were very good. We had the Antipasto plate, Crab and cheese dip, and Thai chicken skewers.
We'll definitely be back for more. This place is a welcome addition to the neighborhood as there just aren't many good adult options for food and drinks on South Hill.
Bottom line: Good food and NW wines in an okay but very improvable setting.
I have been to the new Vintage Wine Bar and Restaurant twice and the Vintage Wine Bar in downtown Puyallup numerous times. My first experience of the new restaurant was on opening day. What could anyone expect of the opening day, let alone that week? The food was okay, the service slow and the food took a long time to come out. I was a little dissappointed as the downtown location had been awesome. My second visit was during their second week, Friday to be exact. What a change! The servers were more knowledgable, the food came out quicker and was lightyears above my first visit. I had the prime rib both visits. Like an earlier reviewer mentioned it was not very good. I ordered mid rare and recieved to small well done pieces. However during my second visit the prime rib was great! Well worth the low price of $16. I also ordered the steak bruchetta appitizer which was awesome. I would now highly recommend the Vintage Wine Bar and Restaurant to all of my friends. Its great that South Hill/Puyallup now has a great local restaurant. I am expecting great things of this restaurant.
Review Source:We were pleasently surprised. Decor and ambiance is nicely done and elegantly upscale. The wine list is carefully chosen with many excellent wines to choose from. We had a flight of 3 wines and we chose from the list of reds. They give you 3 ample sized samples for $10, an excellent deal. We also sampled their lunch menu and chose the Waldorf sandwich. IT was delicious. On the side was a mix of french fried potatoes, sweet potatoes, and beets (yes fried beets).
We both enjoyed ourselves and plan to return and try dinner one of these days.
Nicely decorated and welcoming wine bar restaurant. Â We went on opening day and everything was a little hectic but I have no doubt that they'll get in a groove in a week or so. Â I ordered prime rib and my wife had the Chicken which were both really good but the mashed potatoes tasted like poorly prepared instant. Â Our server forgot our salad but offered a dessert as an apology but we talked him into an app. Â We went with the signature bruschetta. Â I hope it is usually better because although it tasted great the bread was soggy. Â They currently only offer wine flights for a few of the wines by the glass, Â three 2 oz pours for 10 dollars. Â The wine selection was ok but not high end so if you're expecting premium wines the selection is limited. Â Overall we enjoyed the food and wine but will expect more in the future.
