This bar is 100% consistent with its title...chill. Cheap beer and great selection of craft beer as well. The essence of a true neighborhood bar. Garage doors up blowing cold AC on this mild summer night. Highly recommended if you are in the Oak Forest area and you just want to....chill..

Upon moving into Garden Oaks, I just had to explore the area and find myself a bar to drink.  It really does help when this bar is within walking distance from work.  It's a classic icehouse, so except house wines and beers.  They actually have an updated jukebox for music, which was shocking but beyond that you'll find chairs, tables, drinks and people.  What else do you need for a good time?

It's not crazy, it's very "chill" here.  The drinks are dirt cheap, two drinks for 5 bucks.  The waitresses are nice and the patrons are even more welcoming.  A lot of the patrons are from the neighborhood.  I think I'm going to enjoy my new HOOD.

Enjoyed a dog friendly birthday party here. The crowd can be interesting... and entertaining to watch. Just a nice little hole in the wall to grab a brewski.

Stopped in here once.  Friendly service & nice neighborhood atmosphere.  It's open-air, so (a) if you're a smoker that's a good thing (b) if you don't like smoke be aware that folks will be smoking there (c) it probably sucks when the weather is colder.  It was a pleasant, warm day when I went.  Dogs are welcome - again this could be good or bad depending on your preferences.  There was a really friendly black lab wandering around in the bar when I was there.  I like animals, so it was cool - if you don't, this seemed to be a normal occurrence.   One of the bartenders had made chili which was free for patrons (they don't serve food).  That was a nice touch & it was really good.  Apparently they have freebies such as that on a regular basis.  I'm hoping to see some live music there & better hours.  Very nicely designed beautiful wooden bar - really beautiful if you appreciate fine woodworking.

Living in Oak Forest has left me wanting for a decent little bar I could go to after a long day's work that wouldn't be 100 miles away, wouldn't break my bank and manages to be both well presented but not pretentious at the same time.

Last night was my second time back to this establishment and the beer was cold, and the staff was friendly. Try and go when Angie is there!  She was great last night..  They usually only have one bartender on staff and it can get busy on the weekend, but they definitely try and hustle to keep the patrons satisfied (still prefer a quiet weeknight though).  It is also worth mentioning, that I have been to places with a much worse beer selection.

Fair warning for those who can't handle the heat, the inside is an old service stations and true to icehouse form it does not have AC.  They open up the old service bay doors and let the fans do the rest.  It wasn't bad sitting by the fans and the outside area was actually really pleasant, but if you can't stand the heat give it a month or two before you go, so that you won't sweat your way through your first experience.  If it doesn't bother you than man up and go get yourself a cheap cold one.

New clean bar with outdoor canine area.  They did not have their horseshoes or washers games completed.  I get bored drinking with nothing to do.  We tried to play shuffleboard, but the board was warped.  These issues should not be present at a brand new place.

I will not bother to return, Petrol is closer anyway...

Nice  neighborhood bar. Staff is friendly. In addition, there is a nice outdoor area for  customers who want  to bring their canine friends along. I'm not much of a beer drinker so I was glad to see a selection of wines available.

Really great neighborhood bar, brought to you by the same folks that brought us "The Richmond Chill," another glorious watering hole.  I recently had my 31st birthday party here, which I'm happy to report was a success.  They don't serve food, but have no problem with directing the pizza dude to the back yard if you let them know he's coming.

This place serves only beer (at this point -- not sure if they are planning on getting their liquor license) and wine (if you consider wine in single serving plastic bottles actual "wine"), which is fine by me since they have a pretty nice selection of beer in the bottle.  So grab your favorite board and/or card game and head out to The Oak Forest Chill and check it out.  It truly lives up to the name.

P.S. Bring your dog, too!  As long as they are well behaved they will get a lot of attention from the other patrons at the bar and might even meet a play mate.

This is another great addition to the neighborhood! The beer is cold and cheap, but bottled. There is inside seating, an outdoor side patio, and in the back a picnic table and bar. It's dog friendly which I love - with a nice sized grassy area for them to romp. It looks like the back area will get used for corn hole and other such beer drinking sports.

The people are friendly, and it has a great vibe. As the OFC matures, I think it will become a neighborhood gem.

Nice friendly bar to hang out after taking the dog out for an afternoon at the park. The Oak Forest Chill is dog friendly, it has a nice little green backyard for the dogs to hang out. Nice selection of beer at decent prices. Four out of five stars because there is no draft beer just bottled. I love the modern jute box that seems to have an endless selection of music.
