I had a very good experience here. I attended a Gary Allen show in March, and was assaulted by another patron. I was upset that she wasn't immediately removed, so after the show I went to speak to the general manager. He apologized for the incident and offered me tickets to any upcoming show. I picked Hunter Hayes. This show was very popular and sold out. With no seats left to give me, the manager put me and my guest, my 10 year old son, in a VIP suite. The suite was awesome, and we had waitress service at our seats. The manger went out of his way to make sure we had a great time to make up for the bad experience I had due to that unruly guest. I would definitely go back there again and would recommend this theatre to everyone.

Saw ZZ TOP for the 2nd time at the Oakdale (last time was in 2005). Very good sight lines, I prefer coming to the Oakdale rather then larger venues. The seats could be a bit more spacious, but I am a large guy also. Just be careful when someone cuts through with a draft beer in your aisle -- they fill the beverages right to the top and my right leg was drenched in beer from the women sitting next me.

Also, don't bother to pay 10 to 20 bucks for "Premier Parking" -- it's not worth it. We parked in the furthest lot away from the gate and we were still able to get out in 5 to 10 minutes at the end of the show.

The Oakdale was.. well... the Oakdale!

I attend a few concerts here annually with my brother, and never really have any complaints. There really isn't a bad seat in the house. Concerts in The Dome are pretty much the best thing they have ever thought of. (Although it's probably due to poor ticket sales)

The only real downfall is the price of food/beverages. Then again, it's expected at any venue like this. It always pays off to tailgate!

Great venue to see a show. Reasonably priced tickets (psst...watch out on Groupon for special deals!) and every seat (even wayyyy up in the rafters which is where you will sit if you purchase said Groupon seats) provides a fun experience. I will say that the sound isn't the best up there but I didn't expect it would be 5 stars and the volume seemed to be adjusted appropriately as the show went on. The only downfall of this theatre - as with ANY venue you go to to see a live show - is the price of concessions. Yikes.

I took my daughter here for her first concert show. The venue is clean and the volume of the show was very kid-appropriate.

My beef is with the theatre's camera policy. On the website it distinctly tells that you can bring your camera as long as it's not of proffesional-grade. I brought my camera around my neck and they asked me to keep it in my car, despite the fact that it is FAR from it. It's just big. An iPhone has better quality, but that would've been acceptable. Nobody searched my purse, so I could've hidden it in there and I would've been fine. The head of security was rude and insisted that I return it to my car. My daughter had a great time at the show, I but I am very upset and disappointed that I have no memories of her first concert. If I was a dishonest person, I would've been just fine.

I will not return to this venue. I hope they fire that jerk.

Just saw Celtic Thunder here. The tickets were $75...EACH. For that price, I expect more. Our seats were just ok. They had "jumbotrons" but I think the cameras used for them were being operated by the local high school AV club. We could not see the faces of any of the performers on the screen because of the poor image quality.

We tried to buy souvenirs at intermission, and it was such an ordeal. Nothing is organized...people had no idea who was in front of whom, etc. Chaos.

The show itself was good, and I love the close location. I just felt like it was a $25 quality show and not $75.

The "Toyota presents" signs on either side of the stage are really annoying. I get corporate sponsorship, but when it takes away from the concert experience, it's too much. Turn it down/off during the show.

Also, not sure if it was just the act, but everybody was seated during the entire show. that's a first for me.

If one lives close to this venue, it's always a worthwhile show. Parking can be tight and, as usual for a CT venue, the staff is a bit uptight. That said, this is neither a top notch venue nor a bottom shelfer. All around: worth your time.

Great Acoustics. Our seats were in the balcony four rows from the back thanks to my winning tickets on 95.9 The Fox Connecticut. I was surprised at how great both the sound and view was. We were there for http://www.britfloyd.com and you should check them out as a Pink Floyd tribute band they were awesome. They are very true to the original and in some cases truly amazing. Seats are well spaced and stadium style so no issues with sightlines or leg room. The airflow is great as there were many people lighting up yet it disappated quickly. They have a great selection of beers and a nice outdoor area too. Its worth visiting the Oakdale as an alternative to Foxwoods and Mohegan or Hartford and frankly with ticket prices within reason it's certainly a great choice. Tiered parking from free to $10 for close and $25 if you think you need to be special. Its now Toyota presents the Oakdale Theatre with all of the 2012 models on display which most people ignore but it's not over the top.

Name changes with the winds, just like the Meadows...er Comcast. Presently, the Toyota Presents Oakdale Theatre. Meaning: the lobby before the theatre is a glorified Toyota showroom.

I think the official name now is the Toyota Presents Oakdale Theatre. Not a bad venue, I've seen Panic! At The Disco, Paramore, and Kelly Clarkson here on 3 separate occasions. Like another reviewer said, it seems now Foxwoods and Mohegan Sun are snapping up a lot of the shows that are suitable for here, which is a shame because Wallingford is way closer, and Mohegan and MGM Grand at Foxwoods tend to have some pretty exorbitant ticket prices.

Per usual, ATM fee is ridiculous ($4!), they charge you like $10 to park anywhere near the place, and concessions and booze are marked up the ying yang. Bacardi Mojito bottle for $6? Shit, I can go to a packy and buy a whole damn 6 pack for a dollar more! Live Nation is nothing but a bunch of greedy money grubbers, but I digress.

Bathrooms stay fairly clean and are pretty big, and this place is a HELL of a lot easier to get out of than someplace like the Meadows...er Comcast, so there's that.

We sat in the center, 7th row, so of course we had a great time at our show. The lobby is a bit overwhelming when you first enter, but once you get your bearings you can find everything you need by the sinage, and there's an info desk. The bathrooms are clean and spacious, and they do have one "family" bathroom. My only complaint is that one of the greeters we encountered was rather rude, and didn't want to let us back out of the lobby to get our VIP gear. I guess that's partly the shows fault for not having the VIP table in the lobby. All in all, I'd go there again.

Oakdale lost the indian wars. They used to have the top talent that you would find in a venue of this size. Unfortunately, the casino's have taken that talent to Eastern Connecticut leaving Oakdale with less popular acts. The old theater in the round was more intimate and would probably work better under these new circumstances.

Rather than be repetitive I will just say that Ryan C is spot on with his description

Though it's now known as the Chevrolet Theatre, the former Oakdale theatre is a great venue for a comedian. I had the pleasure of seeing Jon Stewart when he came up in June.

Oddly, the main lobby of the theatre resembles more of a Car Dealership, with six chevy vehicles being displayed, but nothing really cool that would inspire second looks, no corvettes or anything. Around the cars are the restrooms and concessions. Can't say much except the bathrooms were clean and ample capacity, and that water will run you about $2.50. There's also some seating outside for a barbecue cafe, if you haven't had a chance to eat (as there aren't too many restaurants nearby)

The view from the upper level is good, without any blockages, but perhaps a little too far for a comic. Thankfully, the theatre is equipped with two large video projection screens so we could see more cleary, but doesn't that defeat the purpose of seeing a live show? Seating is comfortable and in good condition.

Egress after the show was expedient, and relaxing compared to trying to leave the Hartford Civic Center. You'll be out of the parking lot and back on the main road in 5-10 mins.

Overall a good experience, and won't mind coming back to see other events at the Oakda...er Chevrolet Theatre.
