I brought my father here for Father's Day. Â We all loved it. Â Granted an expensive upscale restaurant but I think its great for a night out "every once in a while" and special occasions. Â Every course was perfectly proportioned and all delicious. Â I believe the soup was a sun-dried tomato chicken soup, a cup, not to much to fill us up but enough to keep us satisfied in the meantime. Â Me and my father had the chicken pasta dish, chicken was perfectly cooked juicy and flavorful. Â Nice quiet ambiance. Â We saw they had a dance floor and stage for a band but no one was playing that night. Â If you want to try a delicious restaurant with quiet classy atmosphere then this is your place. Â 2 thumbs up.
Review Source:Visited here on a recent vacation and we LOVED it. Â I would give it 4.5 stars if I could, taking a half star off only because our service was slow (albeit friendly and competent). Anyway, I am so glad we went here. Â I had the grouper almandine and it was one of the best meals I have ever had in my life, so delicious. Â We also enjoyed the fried lobster, which was a first for all of us. Â It was delicious! Â Ocean Club is a must if you are visiting Destin, we would DEFINITELY return.
Review Source:Came here for a special occasion with many friends with a fixed menu. Â I had the fried green tomatoes with lump crab meat for an app. Â Tomatoe wasn't quite tart enough since they're not in season yet. Â For main, I had a petit fillet that cooked a perfect medium. Â The ricotta cheesecake was a nice finish being light and not quite as dense. Â Service was a bit slow. Â Overall a nice dining experience.
Review Source:This place is filled with wonderful memories and will always be a staple in our lives . It's hard to pass on their grouper with a wonderful glass of wine. Â If I'm feeling a bit hungrier then I order their fried green tomoato's with local fresh lump crab meat. Â Many times I am too full for dessert but I have, on occassion, ordered my favorite coconut pie and had it packed to go. Â The salad's are perfect amount to enjoy before your meal.
Review Source:Food was mediocre. Â Portions small. Â (3 small spears of asparagus, tiny scoop of rice, grouper filet approx. 4 oz). Â Overpriced. Â Band was loud and terrible. Â Billed as fine dining, but NOT. Â Wine by the glass very limited. Â We were not offered a wine-by-the-bottle list; don't know if it was available. Â Service was good; waiter was friendly and professional.
Review Source:My family vacations in Destin every year, and the Ocean Club is our favorite restaurant there. Â This is a very upscale, classy, and expensive restaurant, but if you can afford it, it's definitely worth it. Â They also have early dining from 5:00-6:00 every night. Â It's two for one, so it's really quite a good deal!
The most popular dish here among my family is the grouper almandine. Â They actually call it the "catch of the day" almandine on the menu, but it's always grouper. Â I don't know why they don't just call it grouper if they never catch anything else. Â Anyway, I've had it once, and it is pretty awesome. Â It's covered in almonds and some sort of sauce...I'm not sure how it's spelled, but it sounds like "manure." Â It certainly doesn't taste like manure though! Â I've also had the soft shell crab before, which is also delicious, and the sauce is similar to the "manure" sauce that they put on the grouper.
On Wednesday nights at 8:00, there's a really nice band that plays. Â There's a stage and dance floor. Â The band plays a lot of oldies from the '60s and '70s with a little bit of a jazzy twist. Â The saxophone player is great. Â He's also the best singer in the band. Â After a few songs, the regulars all go out on the floor and start dancing. Â I even taught my mom to swing dance there!
This is definitely a must-try restaurant if you're in Destin.
We went here for a birthday dinner and were not disappointed. It is a "fine dining" resturaunt but not stiff. Feel free to wear jeans and a descent shirt. We ordered their crab entree and the trout almondene. They were both excellent. The ambiance is nice, wait staff is friendly and quick. I'll say that the fettuccini alfredo that came with the fried crab was the best I have ever tasted. I think it is a little overpriced, thus the -1 star. Yes, there is a disco ball and a dance floor. I found that odd. But not too odd. There was a "house band" who played subtle jazz. Gave the place a nice feel. We'll go back for their "early bird" deal (buy one entree get one free between 5 and 6:00, everyday).
Review Source:So much fun!
The food was great and the wait staff was attentive and speedy!
As a restaurant it was great, but as a fun little place to gather even better...
There was a family crowd early then the more mature crowd moves in...disco ball on the dance floor and all....I don't know which was most flashy, the dance lights or some of the patrons...
