Being a fan of all things Irish, I had to go to O'conners Irish Pub while visiting Springfield today.  I drove up, eyeballing the place, not really sure if I'd bother going in, it looked so tiny, then I came around to the side, bigger than I thought and with a patio.

I go in at about 12 noon.  Much bigger than I thought it would be.  It's got a bit of an Irish pub feel, lots of wood, dark but still cheery and comfortable.  Very welcoming.  There were two guys there when I walked in and got a big hello from the blonde haired bartender.  I got great service, never rushed, just the right amount of check backs.  I asked for a recommendation as I was new to the pub and she gave me a few - gotta trys.  I decided on a big ole greasy cheeseburger with the handcut fries.  I know, I know, not very Irish of me but as soon as she said burger, I was there.

Got what I asked for, only thing I forgot was to say and she didn't ask was to prep my burger med-well with a push as I got it medium....not optimum but I can live with it.  A large Guiness to wash it down made my lunch Irish for me, I finished, paid my bill and was off.

I will definitely go back again.  Springfield has a really nice place here to offset their preponderance of chain restaurants....I mean really guys, don't you get sick of Perkins?

I love supporting small business and this is one I'd love to be able to pick up and bring back to Columbus with me.

The first time I went to Oconners, I was not impressed. I did go back to give the place another try and I am glad I did!! This time we were helped by a woman named Bre ( like the cheese :) ).  She was sweet as can be!! She all ways checked up on us, and had interesting conversation when she stopped by.  All of the mixed drinks I ordered were mixed well and very well priced!! I don't know if i just caught them on a bad night before, But going back has defiantly changed my opinion of this wonderful bar!!!

I really enjoyed going here. We went for a birthday party. I just got food and it was really good. Fried cheese and onion rings were awesome. I don't live in Springfield anymore, but I enjoy going back here when I am home. I would definitely recommend O'Conner's!

An unexpected, hidden gem in chain restaurant overloaded Springfield!!  Never knew this place was here until we got the Living Social deal and decided to give it a try... Great Irish pub hidden away on a corner strip between a gas station and another random store (?)  Go for the GREAT beer selection, attentive service without feeling rushed, MASSIVE plate of fish and chips, great homemade pizzas, and reasonably priced Irish specialties.  Cozy booths, nice seating at the bar, sports on multiple screens, heated outside section... Looks like a Midwestern "Cheers" in the making.  Will go again and hope this great spot keeps up the good work!!

**Back again, at a busier (but not CRAZY busy...) Thurs. night.  Still a great spot, but got the feeling we were being RUSHED out of there, even w/ tables opening up all around us.  We weren't really dragging it out, just finishing up, and waitress wanted to clear everthing up and bring our check before w/ were done...  I guess she was hoping to get done and out of there sooner, but not too fun to feel that rushed!!**

Best beer and pub grub in Springfield.
If you want water go to any bar in Ohio. If you want a REAL BEER this is the place. No crap on tap but they do have your light weight stuff in a bottle for you. This ain't no honkietonk It's a true American version of an Irish pub.
Food is good, Steak is not bad for the money. Fish and chips are GREAT!!! Huge portion. Pizza could be better though. But Pizza at an irish pub is ????

Went here on a Friday night and I was pleasantly surprised. There was a good crown there but it wasn't too packed. We sat at the bar and was immediately met by the bartender and given a drink menu. I ordered the Guinness on draft and it was excellent. We decided to sit outside because it was freezing inside. I'm always cold though so don't let that deter you, they do keep the place well air conditioned.

The outside crowd was lively as well. The servers were friendly and attentive. I was pleased with the ambiance and the face that it seems the crowd here is little older. Which means NO DRAMA! Excellent bar and I would return.
