*This update is based SOLELY on the food.

I can't let my stamp-of-approval for this place sit at it's original 4 rating after the experience I had last night here with the food; this puts me at great conflict, because I consider this place somewhat endearingly as one of my go-to "neighborhood bars."

On the search for a quick late night snack / dinner, Office 1560 seemed like a perfect choice, since we wanted a couple of stiff drinks to enjoy with our food. Based on the recommendation by our sweet-as-can-be bartender, we got the nachos (not on the menu), and the steamed clams, which we had ordered and enjoyed on a previous visit (thinking it was a guaranteed winner).

Basically, we got OD sodium levels across the board!

The nachos AND the clams (broth) was very, very salty. This was so disappointing since we were fairly starved. Not sure what happened, since I've gotten food here at least 2 - 3 times before, and it's always been decent (never anything mind-blowing or spectacular, but it usually hits the spot). Once we got our clams, we thought, "I don't remember it being this salty last time?" hopefully chalking it up to a mistake. Once the nachos arrived and we found had the SAME problem, we realized whoever made these dishes had to possess one huge sodium fetish.

The problem with the nachos in particular, they don't use basic tortilla chips. Instead, they use these seemingly pre-seasoned chips that are just COMPLETELY unnecessary. I bet Office 1560 thinks they're completely upping the ante with "flavor" by doing this, but fuck that! You're basically getting Doritos with a shit-load of already salty toppings like cheese, chili, ground beef, etc.!

Who ever signed off on this? When did corn tortilla chips ever become "not good enough?"

There's just certain variations of food that you do not need to mess with or 'reinvent;' Their nachos left me craving simple, thick tortilla chips. The chips seriously tasted like Doritos with some "fiesta-mix" type bullshit seasoning on it. I guarantee you the genius who came up with this thought he was some culinary mastermind, and probably patted himself on the back as he glanced at the Culinary Arts degree he obtained online. The whole idea with nachos, is that the toppings are already rich and salty; corn tortilla chips are supposed to provide that balance to offset all the toppings. However, when you have every element in that dish containing the same salty profile -- you're pretty much screwed. I had to drink so much water when I got home last night! I basically woke up this morning completely dehydrated as well.

As far as the clams, the actual clams themselves are good, and hearty, but the broth was just inedible due to the sodium levels. It's good to usually sop up the broth with the provided bread, but I'm just not down with dying before the age of 31, ya' feel me? Call me old-fashioned, but something about that perturbs me.

It's just sad, because other than that, the bartenders are ALWAYS sweet and nice as can be, which again, is why I'm conflicted in giving this place a negative rating. I still don't mind coming here for an occasional drink or two, since it's a decent establishment, but may hesitate from ordering the food from now on. Once we begrudgingly finished our dishes, we basically said: "well... that was VERY unsatisfying."

That pretty much sums it up right there. I'm hoping I just caught you guys on a bad night Office 1560. Nonetheless, I'm still a fan, but I just hope you read this, wake up, and re-examine some of the items on the menu.

The sodium levels which we had in these dishes last night was simply unacceptable.

Have been here a couple of times! No complaints, chill vibe, awesome bartenders... they always remember what we like. Pizza, oh man, Gorgonzola pizza. Super good! I definitely don't come here often enough.

After not stopping by for almost 2 months, they still remember my name and what I drink.  i've tried a couple other places in the area, but none come close to matching this place for service. friendliness, etc.  This is the place to be, no matter what night.  I still vote for Javier and Jose as team of the year. Suzanne makes it on the list too!  The place where everybody knows your name.
