Don't know - thinking maybe that $$$$ for price could be correct. Â After our 8' personal pan pizza - turned out to be over $15. Â That's for a 3 item personal size pizza - I mean come on - +$2.00 for garlic on the 8' size? Â Anyway - there are less expensive items and it was tasty - but almost $4.00 per small slice - think I'll pass.
Review Source:Go to this place as a bar. Â The drinks are great and there's an especially good Beer-on-draft selection. Â Lots of TVs for your favorite game. Â
Don't go for the food. Â The food is below-average especially the Pizza. Â It's overpriced unbelievably. Â The service is awful (also noticed by other reviewers as well).
If you want sportsbar food, go elsewhere, but if you want true sportsbar, go here - it's the best in the area!
First, a GLARING ERROR on Yelp's Homepage for O'Harley's.
I usually use BOLD type on Yelp site (in places) cuz they don't allow italics, underlining, or bolding; I'm not "shouting". It's just that some points, I wanna make sure you notice.
But this I'm shouting, & loudly:
O'HARLEY'S IS NOT A $$$$ RESTAURANT!
I call it "$$".
This error may cause folks to stop at Yelp's page & not check O'Harley's menu; Can't have THAT:
Most expensive Appetizer's $12, & there's only one of those; everything else? $10 or less.
House Salad: $5.
Burgers? $10. Sandwiches? $9 - $10.
Most expensive Entree? $15, everything else $14 or under; plate of Spaghetti will run ya only $8.
ALL Xtra-Large Pizzas max @ $22, unless ya build yer own; that could run more.
If ya opt for Belgian Truffles, 24k Gold-Leaf-infused Parmesan Reggiano, & Single-Graft Pachino Tomatoes, simmered in Saurian Brandy, it'll run ya OVER FIVE LARGE!
OK, I lied, they don't have any of that stuff, & since "Saurian Brandy" is reference originating in Star Trek OS lore & we're not IN the 23rd Century, it's not been discovered. Yet.
I'm not "normal", as you folks already KNOW Â (there I go, SHOUTING again!). But yer "average" Joe-or-Jane will get maybe App (or Salad) & Entree, or the former & Pizza. Any way ya cut it, yer gonna spend less than $30/person; if you're frugal, closer to $20, excl alcohol, of course. Folks giving O'Harley's a $$$$ rating must've been DRINKIN' their meal!
OK, THAT'S settled; let's talk food. FINALLY!
I'm getting hoarse; must be the SHOUTIN' (ouch!).
I went on Weekday afternoon (May 2013, sorry for tardy post). Place was pretty quiet, only a few "regulars". I sat @ the bar with everyone else; I'm "recovering", but they still let me sit there. I do still miss it, but that's another story.
Started with 1/2 dozen Fried Jumbo Shrimp w/ Panko breading. TERRIFIC! Crispy outside & tender in, fried to perfection. I keep all sorts of breadings around my kitchen, for whatever mood I happen to be in when fryin' stuff. If you're one of my Austin Yelper-Friends (actually, I prefer "Friend-Yelper" in that order), go to Hula Hut and try their Shrimp Tacos, breaded in (unsweetened) coconut (YUM); I keep coconut around too. And Shrimp on the Barbie (er, in the freezer)
House Salad I had was fresh & tasty.
Now, to the Main Course.
I had "Mamma's Homemade Lasagna", & it was really good, as far as "restaurant" Lasagna goes. If I were going OUT for Lasagna, I would rate O'Harley's Lasagna an "8", on scale of 1-10. That's pretty good, I think. Portion could have been a lil' larger, but for $12, well within reason. It just left me wanting MORE, but that means I liked it!
Here, I must apologize, cuz anywhere I go, I can't help comparing "their" Lasagna to MY Lasagna. OK, "mine" is NOT my recipe; it's Tyler Florence's, of Food Network fame.
HERE'S THE LINK to his recipe for "Lasagna al Forno". I know that sounds dirty, but "Forno" is Italian for "furnace" (I just put mine in the oven):
<a href="/redir?url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.foodnetwork.com%2Frecipes%2Ftyler-florence%2Flasagna-al-forno-recipe%2Findex.html&s=20d01290090739571509427ee1b6e4faf66e12f3d64f93b2edac578a66e286a2" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">http://www.foodnetwork.c…</a>
Trust me, yer gonna need a DEEP pan! THREEE POUNDS of meat! His "Ultimate" recipe calls for 4 lbs, but 3 does just fine. And THICK! Makes ANY "restaurant" stuff look like it needs to go to the Gym & beef-up a little (no, a LOT).
Sorry. Over here, THAT'S what "they're" gettin' compared to.
TIP:
"Amy D", I know you just took a plating course; this tip's dedicated to YOU:
If ya try cookin' this, it'll PLATE wonderfully, but ya gotta be patient. It's so thick, you need to let it "rest" for AT LEAST 30 minutes before cuttin' in (45 is better), or it will slide all over the place. If ya wait, it'll cut clean & stand tall, and you'll be one proud chef! You'll wanna get yer CAMERA!
If ANY of ya try makin' this, I want some FEEDBACK, please!
If you've read other reviews of mine, I've mentioned I can re-create BETTER versions of what we, at times, pay too much for when going out. This is a PRIME example. Those of you who can not only "order", but can COOK, please click/paste the link above. Lasagna's NOT hard to make, just takes time; lotta steps involved. But worth it. You CAN do this!
I know, it's supposed to be about O'Harley's, but I HAD to. Back to business:
Bartender/Server (Jenna) was SUPER. Since the place was empty, she had her phone's playlist crankin' out tunes. For someone her age, she's got an impressive depth of music knowledge. She said she could even "convert" me, so that I'd LIKE Hip-Hop (I be a HATA', when it comes to da' "Hip-Hops"; sorry). I told her next time I was in, she could TRY (but it's not likely). But then, she was playin' the CREEDENCE CHANNEL from the 'net for awhile too! Her selection, not mine; the girl has RANGE.
I'm told O'Harley's has live music some evenings, but I've not been, YET; nothing on Calendar as of now.
I DEFINITELY recommend O'Harley's; I WILL be back.
Who knows; Jenna may even "turn" me!

I had some hot wings which were good and the Philly Cheesesteak and fries. I would give 5 stars for those 3 items. My son had the chicken parm and the sauce was terrible. I mean Chef Boyarde bad! He said the chicken was good. Nice waitress. Â This is a 2 $ place, not 4. It was average prices for that type of a place. Garlic knot wasn't very garlicky, but all the breads there were yummy. I will give it another try. I was there for a late lunch and there was a juke box playing.
Review Source:If only they answered their phone! Â We tried calling on a couple different occasions to place a to go order for pizza but they never answered their phone. Yes, they were open and yes we had the correct phone number. Â If we have to try this hard to try and give a new business our business then NO. Â We will get pizza from somewhere else in the future.
Review Source:I came here for happy hour with a few friends. We got a bunch of appetizers...the sample platter was nothing special and over priced. Honestly, the best appetizer we had were the garlic parm knots. They had a large selection of beer and wine, which were good. The atmosphere is a little weird - kind of like a dim bar with pool tables but it's a restaurant so there were kids running around. Also, our waitress tried really hard, but was constatnly mia for refills beacuse it seemed like she was the only waitress in the whole place. Overall, not a bad place for drinks as long as you don't mind slow service.
Review Source:5 stars because there is nothing like this in Rancho Bernardo/Carmel Mountain that is as good. In another area, maybe 4-4.5 stars.
I visited this past Saturday to see a band (Dirty Sue) perform, and this was my first visit since this place was Graziano's pizza. I have to say - O'Harley's definitely improved upon what this place used to be. Love the new bar and selection of micro brews! Good amount of seating, from barstool style seating to booths. There are a couple pool tables and a stage area for live music. I couldn't ask for more.
Beer and wine is served. I had a taste of the garlic pizza (i forget what it was called exactly), onion rings, and garlic fries. Can you tell I like garlic?? I also tasted greenflash IPA as well as a Mongo? IPA and another double IPA.
Many HD flat screen TVs all through the restaurant to catch the game/fight/match/etc.
Can't wait to try the margherita pizza next time!
Also... whoever set the price range to this place at $$$$ - Wrong! It is $$, average for pizza and beer establishments... assuming you drink a modest amount... haha
Went there for a couple of beer for a friend, beer was good but service was extremely low, not busy at all and we still had to get the bartenders attention to get a beer every time, manager who was a woman was wearing flip flops and looked like she got hit by a train. Show some professionalism at where you work!
Review Source:I had the "incredible Alfredo" nothing incredible about it. More like oily slop of noodles. It's been two hours and now I feel like crap right now and I am bowing before my toilet I believe I will be throwing up soon. I without a doubt believe it came from here. I felt fine this morning and during breakfast. My stomach is churning and I feel it coming I got to go.... You've been warned.
Review Source:Me and the family used to come here when they were in Poway and now that we've found out where they moved to we are stoked that they are closer to home then before! The chicken marsala is my favorite and my husband likes their beer selection. Give 'em a try - you won't be dissapointed!
Review Source:I am very picky when it comes to lasagna and I must say I have found my go-to lasagna place.  The owner/chef is very personable and even tries to take the time out  of his busy schedule to say "hello" to you.  The only reason for removing one star is that the bartender was nowhere to be found for awhile so we had to wait for a long time for our drinks.
Review Source:Ok I love this place. It is just down the street and great for me and my boys to watch the game "GO Clippers " This place has a lot of TVs in every any direction you look there is a tv. The pizza here is great always have been happy and my boys love it. My youngest boy 14 loves the garlic knots they are good. last time I went in I asked if they had chicken piccata and they said it is not on as a special but the server offered to check with the chef. so I got my chicken piccata and It was the best I have had in San Diego. the servers are always really nice and attentive. I WILL BE BACK OVER AND OVER Â thanks O'Harrleys
Review Source:Been back a couple more times. My husband and I decided everytime we come, we try something different to get a feel for everything. Oh my goodness. Pizza....amazing. Burgers, delicious. Salads, when you expect a small lame side salad, it's huge and pretty and tastes amazing. The garlic knots were amazing, meatballs....amazing. We keep getting impressed and everything we order far exceeds our expectations. The owner came by the last 2 times we were there to see how we were, if we enjoyed everything. our waitress, we get the same one every time and she is so nice. I can't remember her name though, brown hair, takes care of the booths right by the door. She's quiet, not "HI!" and in your face, but she's funny and nice and takes great care of us. Brings us our drink refills at just the right time, we never have to ask for refills.
Sorry for all of you that had a bad experience but I don't see any of that stuff you're talking about haha. Love Love LOVE this place.
just came back from dinner with my husband.  not only did we have to suffer the server's bad attitude, then we were served mediocre food!  he ordered a burger and i ordered the a personal margerita pizza.  his burger was ok.  I took of couple of bites of my pizza.  it was tasteless!  the cheese was gluey and with absolutely no taste!  the  crust was soft and mushy.  to add insult to injury they charged an extra $1 for the basil on the margerita pizza.  the server came by and asked if i wanted the pizza boxed.  i said no.  you think she would have gotten a clue that i did not like the pizza since i did not eat it.  if you want pizza, you are better off ordering domino's or papa johns.  if you like bad service and mediocre food then this is the place for you.
Review Source:The food and beer were good, the experience was not.
Ate my burger and drank my beer - all was good until...
The female cow of a manager (who was wearing flip-flops - both unsanitary and unprofessional) came by and cleared my table and asked if I needed anything.
I asked for the check.
Once she had printed the receipt, she waved it in the waitress' face (who was already busy taking another tables order) saying "here sweetheart you need to take care of this now, that guy over there"
First of all cow, I'm a customer - not that guy over there.
If that cow of a manager reads this - do your part and help out next time. Dress for work, you are not at home. Do your part and help and treat your staff with respect.
I'm not giving my money to those ghetto a** people if that's how they run their restaurant.
Pathetic.
When this place was in Poway, the food was fine. Priced well and ok. Then they closed. Sad. Next thing I know, they are opening up closer to me. Neat!! We tried it out and WOW.....we had the Alfredo and it was amazing!! We also had the garlic knots. They disappeared from our plates! The garlic pizza is REAL garlic. They aren't messing around. The staff was great. LOTS of TVs. Hoping they will show the UFC fights. It's a bummer to read those other poor comments when I seriously enjoyed the place. My big complaint?? The front door. It doesn't scream "This is the front door, come on in." Hopefully they put a big arrow with "come on in" painted really cool on the side of the wall with some nice planters and a bench. I think that would look lovely. But as for inside, pretty cool. They even kept the bricks people wrote on (including my kids) and oddly enough, we were there 2 years and 1 day after the last time we were there. It says so on the wall. ha! Now I'm hungry.....Off to O'Harleys!
Review Source:This space is so much larger and modern than when they were in Poway. Â Tons of new beer too. Â Lots of fancy microbrews and local flavors.
But the one thing that has not changed is the quality of the food. Â
The garlic knots came out piping hot and tasted amazing dunked into the homemade marinara sauce. Â
My southwestern chicken pasta dish was gigantic and my sister loved her chicken parm with spaghetti. Â
The antipasta salad was new and it was loaded with meat and cheese and I want to go back just for the salad. Â
Our waiter was friendly and knew his menu and I am glad to see O'Halrey's is back. Â We took a pizza home for the kids and they loved it.
For anyone who does not know why they have so much Italian food on their menu it is because the owners Mother was the former chef and all the recipes are her homemade recipes straight from Italy. Â Enjoy!
Where do I begin. Â It's a bar, with two pool table right in the middle. Â The glow of blue neon fills the room.
I was with a few friends - otherwise I would have turned around and gone somewhere else. Â We thought it was going to be more restaurant than pool hall, but we were wrong. Â There were a few guys at the bar - black concert sleeveless t-shirts wearing guys.
Service was slow and the employees seemed disinterested in helping us.
I had the Chicken Parmesan. Â I spent Gaslamp pricing of $14 on what was essentially Souplantation quality chicken. Â The Parmesan crust was very thin and almost slid - slipped - oozed off the chicken. eewwww.
My friend had a pizza that she was not thrilled with. Â Had it not been so late and if we were not so hungry, we would have left.
Live and learn.
Love it here! For what it is, it's a great spot. Perfect location too, right by our house. Â It's a great go-to spot for delicious pizza, GREAT beer and just a chill spot to watch sports and play some pool. Â It's a def a family joint so expect a lot of kids. Â We've had the lasagna, sourdough burger and of course the pizza. Â Everything we've had is so good, totally hits the spot. Â This is NOT a fancy restaurant, so don't whip out your prom dress for this place. Â Overall, we love it! It's just a great place to hang out at.
Review Source:This is a great place to come and have a meal by yourself with family or friends. I've had a few of their lunch specials and they have all been very delicious! The Italian meals taste like they are from an Italian Mom's kitchen. They have 30 beers on tap, 10 different flat screen TV's, 2 brand new pool tables with blue felt and WI-FI availability.
The service is prompt and courteous and everyone there is very proud of their new Brewhouse & Pizzeria as well they should be .I have had great conversations with other patrons, especially about sports while sitting at the bar eating lunch. I know I'll be visiting and eating their on a regular basis. Give yourself a treat, go to O'Harley's and find out for yourself.
Just went here with some friends. I don't usually like Bar foods but everything we ate was delicious! We shared appetizers and a salad. The Garlic bread knots go with everything and are hot and fresh. The clams are cooked just right with great pot liquor for the bread knots. The salad was large enough to share and made fresh (I don't like old tasting lettuce).
The service was wonderful. I don't drink beer but there were at least 20 on tap. I would suggest a better wine list though.
The pizza looked and smelled really good at the table next to us. I would return ;-)
This is a great bar and restaurant,a must see and eat for all. Â Their chicken parmesan is out of site and delicious. Â Had their cheese cake one night and after that the other night I tried their canoles and oh yes, out of site once again with lots of vanilla cheese flavor and the crust on the canole was excellent.
Sat at the bar before dinner and bartenders Krissy and Wendy waited on me. Â Each of them personality plus. Â Ask for either one of them when you go in you won't be disappointed.
All their food is cooked right their even their desserts.
I have been waiting for this place to open since I first saw the sign of few months ago. I decided to check it out with some friends during the first regular season football game and it was the right choice for that. There are tons of TVs spread out throughout the entire restaurant and I think you could easily see one no matter where you sat. There are also two pool tables and a dart board.
They have a large selection of beers including many local breweries. There are two beers that are made specially for O'Harleys by Firestone Brewery, a blonde and a hefeweizen. They have a good size menu with options from appetizers, pasta, sandwiches, pizza, and some bar food. There is definitely an Italian influence on the menu. We ended up getting a large "Big Buffalo Chicken" pizza, which was delicious and the perfect size for the three of us.
However, you can definitely tell that they just opened. The menu is printed on paper and stapled together and they are also still figuring out their hours, but I won't hold either against them.
I will be going back and I could see myself becoming a regular here. I hope they continue to grow and improve. And thank you to Jenna (spelling?) for the great service.
This place has potential and the quality of the food is a significant improvement over the Italian restaurant that used to be here. They will definitely do well if they can sort out a few kinks. Here are my recommendations:
-Bring the utensils before serving the food
-Have a printed kids menu. A server told us the kids items which were available including spaghetti and meatballs. We ordered pasta for the kids and it came out without the meatballs. It was fine but they should be clear about that.
-Kids size drinks w lids
-If we have fries, offer us ketchup so we don't have to ask.
-Didn't request it but hot sauce (like sriracha, cholula, or Tabasco) or crushed red pepper would be nice.
We didn't order pizza but the one at the other table looked delicious. In addition to the kids' pastas we had lasagna and the bacon Swiss chicken sandwich. Both were tasty. The garlic bread is a must!
Soft opening and the end of August, 2012.
I live nearby and have seen many businesses leave this shopping center, including a taco shop, neighborhood grill, frozen yogurt, Polish/Czech market/restaurant, and Graziano's Pizza. This is one establishment that I can tell is here to stay.
The pizza is very good. When I first had the pizza, you could see it was baked in a proper pizza oven and not a metal rolling contraption you might find at other joints. Then of course biting into it you could tell the difference. And after talking with the owner and kitchen staff I confirmed it was a brick oven. The management and kitchen staff have been great.
There are about 30 beers on tap, mostly micros. The center has two pool tables with some bar tables, a bar - beer and wine only I believe, and the remaining perimeter has pizzeria style booth seating. Also lots of TVs so it does have that sports bar feel too. Come give it a try.
