My fiancee and I were in the Lenox area looking at wedding venues with our parents and we needed a place to grab lunch.  We came across the Old Heritage Tavern and thought it looks perfect.  It had a fun, simple look to it and it was busy, so we assumed that it was good.  As luck would have it, a party with the same number of people as ours was leaving as we came in, so we were able to get a table almost immediately.

Unfortunately, this was pretty much the end of our luck.  Our waitress came over and offered us drinks, however when asked what beers were on tap she had no idea what we were talking about.  Her response, "Ummm... what do you mean?"  REALLY?!  You work in a tavern!  Once we explained to her it meant beers not in a bottle, she said, "Oh... ummm... I have no idea" and ran to the bar to find out.  When she came back she stumbled her way through a partial list of available beers.  She mentioned that they had BBC (makes sense being in the Berkshires) but had no idea which one.  Actually, she was totally clueless that the BBC produced more than one type of beer.

Once we received our drinks and ordered our food, we never saw our waitress again until the bill came.  Our food was delivered by a friendly young girl who soon discovered that one of our meals was not with the others.  She disappeared for nearly 15 minutes before we grabbed an older gentleman who was waiting on a nearby table.  He apologized and said he would look into it.  Only then did the runner (NOT our actual waitress) returned to tell us that the meal had been delivered to another table and that they had to remake ours.  In addition to the meal that was completely missing, they failed to bring us various other portions of other dishes, including dressing for a salad and condiments for a burger.

Once we actually did get our food, it was extremely mediocre.  When our waitress finally reappeared with our check, she didn't apologize, or even mention, the various shortcomings of our meal.

Thought I wrote a review for this place, but Yelp keeps requesting since I "checked in" once.  I must have been in a weird mood to do that.

Anyway, great local place that super casual.  This is a tavern in every sense of the word - a bar that serves food but you would take your family to...at least before 9pm most nights.

They have music sometimes and the food is good to very good, depending what you get.  Lenox has a lot of fancy places, this is where you go for a break from that or if you are a regular down to earth type.  Gotta say I love the Spinach and Artichoke Dip!!!

    Desperately Seeking ESPN.

Spending a glorious weekend in the Lenox area sampling the culture, fine dining and autumnal glory of the Berkshires region- the boy & I hadn't thought ahead to where we might be able to post up to catch his beloved Gators playing on Saturday afternoon.  Go Go Yelp App.

Olde Heritage was one of the only things that popped up for sports bars in the area and it suited our needs just fine. With a couple of televisions scattered throughout the dining and bar area broadcasting the games of the day- we easily grabbed a seat and settled in for a couple hours.  With only college football and cocktails on our to-do list, I can't speak to Olde Heritage's grub. I can say that if you're in the market for cheap cocktails and a friendly atmosphere, this place has you covered. The drinks list looked a bit like what my friends and I might have come up with after a long night out in college. "Uhhh what do we have....A Diet Fresca? Grape vodka? A fruit rollup? Ok cool!" But when they're charging next to nothing for heavy pours (between $4.50-$8 for pretty much any drink you'd like) the prices can't be beat.

Our waiter was friendly and quick with the next round- never giving us eye rolls when we got rowdy cheering for a good play. He even jumped in and chatted about Florida sports for awhile.  I'd recommend it to anyone looking to catch a game in the Lenox area.
