We are new to the area and discovered this place quickly was "our" favorite hang out. My husband and I love to sit at the bar and watch football and baseball on the many many TV's throughout the place. They have such a variety on their menu. We usually eat wings when we sit at the bar. They honestly have the BEST wings we have ever had. And by far THE BEST FRENCH FRIES. Huge steak-cut fries. We  sit in the dining room we we bring our kids. They are sports finatics as well so they love coming here. Sad to admit but we usually eat dinner at least 2 times a week there. The food and level of service are consistant every time. Keep up the great work Olde Towne!
Review Source:I met up with some folks here. Family of someone I was traveling with.
Fine by me. The place is pretty nice, TVs EVERYWHERE. You will find the sport you want to watch on the TVs from any angle.
As the name suggests its a Tavern and Grill. (no e for me please. This place is oldie townie tavern and grillie as far as I'm concerned.) Very much geared toward the bar food/sports bar atmosphere. It's not overwhelming though.
If you've been to taco mac, think of this place as.. a bit of an upscale version. The food seems to be a bit more diverse, the TVs and fittings higher quality, the music a bit quieter, but still the same "scene" if that makes sense.
So, I only gave it 3 stars, and I haven't gotten to why yet huh? Well, I eat out for the food.. and at least for me it just didn't measure up to 4 or 5 stars. The atmosphere is nice, it's a great place to hang out and socialize, a great place to watch a game or hang out with friends, but when it comes to the utilitarian part of it.. eating dinner.. the food is tough, and kind of expensive for what you get.
I got the chicken strips. They were nearly inedible because of how tough they were. Someone must have really stressed those chickens out. Ya know it's the kind of meat you can't even cut with a knife it's so tough. So dinner was mostly french fries.
I had a good time anyway, but if I go back, I won't be getting the chicken strips. (I would be willing to go back though, and I recommend you give it a try.)
I used to love going here for wings, but now that they've raised the wing prices I will be getting my wing fix elsewhere. The new prices for wings are outrageous. 12 wings for $15. 24 wings for $28? The meat itself costs $2/lb and I think from the size of Olde Towne wings that 12 wings is less than a pound. I could get a steak at a chain restaurant for that price. The wings are good, but not that good!
Review Source:Who knew?
Ended up here by default one night. Our other intentions fell through, and this is my girls' favorite neighborhood spot. I wasn't excited about stopping in, but we had no other plans, so why not.
First, the atmosphere: cool and chill. festive, loud, happy people, like a sports bar should be! about 67 flat screens plastered ALL OVER the place. not a game of stickball in vietnam would you miss here.
the servers: all cute girls with nice, bubbly personalities.
the food: delish! try the cajun pasta with STEAK (medium). my girl loves their burgers, salads, and soups.
kind of a family place, too. i saw several toddlers around.
loved it, can't wait to return!
My rating is not reflective on this establishment at all since I was unable to visit. I tried to visit this place but grew too frustrated and gave up. Â If you are coming from the north on 41 you apparently have to go a good half mile or more out of your way just to get here. The traffic light just south of this joint doesn't allow U turns. I wasn't going to risk an accident on a busy rush hour. When you turn left a few times to try to go in another way you end up in a dead end parking lot of an emission station. Â I know this is not olde towne tavern fault but you guys sure must be losing some business with the tricky traffic situation. Â Had to get my wing fix elsewhere. Hope to make it there eventually.
Review Source:The food was wonderful. Our server was great and very attentive. She went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. We finished off dinner with the chocolate lava cake a la mode. (not sure if that is the right name for the desert, but it was delish!!) There were tons of flat screens and that came in handy, since we were about to head to a tornado smitten area. I wish I could remember the server's name. She was just wonderful. If we are ever back in this area, we will be back.
Review Source:My family and I stopped here on Friday and they actually have live music (1 man band) and it was pretty good. Â This seemed to be a pretty busy night. The restaurant caters to all, from business men to little league baseball players. Â We had about a 15min wait for a party of 5. Â After we were seated and ordered our food took about 20min to make it to our table. Â The food was great as usual but a order of sweet potato fires were cold, once we told our server they were quickly replaced with hot ones.
Review Source:I have been to this place many times. It is great for all types of sports. It has at least 50 flat screens tuned to every sport available. Great for Saturday and Sunday games or anytime an event is on TV.
The menu is old and needs to be updated. Many items but not to many that stand out. Needs to spend more time developing key food items and stick with those.
The atmosphere is very upbeat and very nice decor inside. However, it is very dark inside.
Chicken wings are the best in town and really the only item worth ordering.
The place is geared towards guys and sports. Not kid friendly at all. The waitresses are all young and pretty little gals. Sadly they spend more time looking in the mirror then serving the customers!
Pro: Great Chicken wings and tons of TV's...Very nice inside.
Cons: Menu. Service is mediocre at best.
If you are a male and in your 20's this place is awesome. Lots of TV's and lil girlies to drool over. If not, then I suggest someplace else or just get used to the bad service while eating their great wings like I do.
I live close to this restaurant and have been many times. I like their atmosphere as far as Sports Bars go. It has an upscale feel and though they hire only cute girls (most of whom are blonde), it doesn't give me as a girl, that odd, out of place feeling, like Hooters and Tilted Kilt. Most likely because these girls are required to wear actual clothing. My biggest complaint is the food itself. It's all very Sysco. All they do is take it out of the freezer and drop it in grease, or open a tub or can, or open a bag-o-salad and dump it in a bowl. I wish they would hire a chef and concoct an upscale bar food menu with some signature dishes. Otherwise, it's worth a try if you've never been. Chances are, whatever you order will be ok, just nothing to write home about. BTW, they have leased more space and will be expanding soon.
Review Source:A pretty typical sports bar. Â It's down the street from my office, but we don't go as often as we used to because the food is now mediocre, at best, and the prices a little steep ($7-$10 for lunch). Â Pretty dark, so hard to tell if it is clean and hard to read the menu, depending on where you sit. Â Used to be excellent...has definitely gone downhill. Â More tv's than you can count...so if you like multiple tv's and attractive waitresses, or if you're a woman who wants to cute-guy-watch (I would say 30's to 50's), it's the place to go.
If you want good food at a reasonable price...stay away. Â I used to go about once a week and my favorite thing was the fish sandwich. Â It used to be f'ing amazing...light, crispy, obviously fresh, served with slaw and great fries. Â Now it looks (and tastes) like a frozen Gorton's slab-o-fish. Still big...but, although it was brown, it was whatever the opposite of crispy is! Limp and soggy. The bun was nice and the tartar sauce was great. Â The thick steak fries that used to be soooo good were undercooked, limp, and pretty inedible. You also used to get a cup of cole slaw with it...that has been taken away...no accompaniment except for the fries (and I think it was $8.50). Â All in all, it was definitely NOT good unless you just wanted to eat the bun with tartar sauce on it! Â Our waitress was really good...especially considering how packed it was. Â Women are definitely in the minority (there were maybe 7-10 women and the place was crowded). Maybe the guys aren't as interested in the food as they are in the waitresses? Â Anyway...just a so-so lunch and the bill for the three of us was over $35. Â I used to go here once a week...I won't be back based on the last three times I've been. Â It breaks my heart since it used to be one of my favorite places!
We had  a quick lunch. The place was quite busy early on Saturday afternoon.  From our booth I counted 30 televisions.  Televisions beside each other tuned to the same sports channel.  All kinds of televisions- flat screens, a whole shelf full of old school TVs with picture tubes side by side!  Way more TVs than Best Buys.  Wonder how much their cable bill is?
The cheeseburger- English I think- Â was ordered medium rare and arrived at the table medium rare. Perfect. Â Great burger.
The blackened french dip was good . Â Lots of cheese and a good bun, I loved it.
Good pull on the Guinness.
Fries- Â bad bad bad. Â Cut thick and never done. Â Limp and flaccid! Â Too bad. Â Thick steak fries with no crispy brown pieces on the outside. Â
The servers are all KSU students apparently. Â Ours did a good job.
This place sucks!!!!!
Hmmm, I think that about sums it up. Â When here on a Sunday night the place was packed so I can excuse slow service but we were sitting at the table right in front of the wait pick up station. So the waitress would just have to pick up our food turn around and put it on our table. Â The other servers seemed to be doing just fine but our waitress was so bad about picking up her stuff the cook yelled out to find out why the food had been sitting on the counter so long getting cold. The cook ended up making us all new stuff & had to bring it to our table himself. Â We ended up getting our stuff for free but after that experience never again will I set foot in that place. Â I know it's a sports bar and they hire pretty girl for a reason, just in the future hire some that know how to wait tables.
I was meeting up a friend who lives in Canton, so we decided this was a great mid-spot to meet up for lunch. Â We initially were suppose to go to the Mexican Restaurant next door, based on the great reviews it had on Yelp, but stepping into the establishment, it felt like Taco Bell gone Fancy, so I opted for the "Border" restaurant next door, which was this place.
The place was packed which was an excellent sign, but it also smelled great! We were seated promptly and our waitress was very helpful in helping me choose between the reauben or the burger. Â I opted for the swiss cheese, mushroom burger , medium rare with a side of sweet potato fries. Â It was delicious! Â My friend ordered the House Flank steak salad, and I was able to get a taste. Tender, large slices of flank steak cooked and marinated to perfection, on a bed of greens. Â The place was amazing in quality and service, with a wonderful selection on their menu.
I was also pleasantly surprise by their "franchise"prices. Â The burger was top notch quality for 10.00!
If you live near here, give em a try.. you won't be disappointed. Should I also mention all the waitresses were ubber cute?
Go at lunch. Â I have learned this from experience. Â If you want a slab of ground cow, grilled to medium perfection with two strips of pig and a side of fries or rings....go at lunch. Â Jose knows how to tend the grill at lunch. Â At dinner time...someone else is there, and no matter how many times they ask you how you want your burger cooked...the grill master does whatever he wants with it...usually well done.
