We all came here and had the shrimp civiche, went home and all got sick.  Other items were ok, so temped after a year or two to go give it another try.

We arrived at opening and were the only customers there. My family loved the chips and salsas! We ordered the fajitas and my daughter ordered the soft taco. Ours came out wonderful. My daughter did not care for the taco and the wonderful waitress went and got her a quesadilla without any fuss. It was wonderful. All of the staff was friendly and the food was amazing. Definitely would go back there again.

The salsas absolutely SUCKED~ every single one of them.

The chips were fantastic but without even semi-decent salsa, I don't eat them.

    1. The funky coleslaw-onion crap...what the hell is that? GROSS!!
    2. The red salsa literally looked like the opened a can of diced tomatoes and dumped them in the bowl-no spice, no taste,bleh...
    3. the green salsa was better (read: edible) but where was the heat?!?!  Do any actual Hispanics work here?

We ordered a side of the habanero salsa and Jesus H. Christ! I don't know what the hell it was but it looked like minced cat food and although it was hot, it didn't have any flavor other than  excruciating heat. There has to be a happy medium.

The shredded beef Miguel's burrito with red sauce was pretty good and huge portions left us plenty of leftovers. The margaritas we got at the bar had no alcohol that we could taste and I didn't have any buzz whatsoever, so that was a waste of $12.00 for two drinks.

If they stepped up their game on the pour for the drinks and invested in some decent salsa, I'd try it again~if not, I won't be back.

Love, love, love the interior!  When you step in, you feel like you are completely disconnected from the casino which is nice.  The service and prices are excellent and couldn't ask for more.  We used the 2-1 promotional coupon and never got the feeling that we were cheap bastards so the money we saved went to margaritas and to a generous tip for the waitress.

My friend had ordered the fajitas which smoked like crazy when it was brought out and we thought the fire alarm was going to go off but it was a great and interesting presentation to say the least.  There were quite a few other patrons in the restaurant but our food came out very fast nonetheless.  Will definitely go again.

YEE HAW.  What a great meal - and a great price!  Combination plates were about $9.50 and 'Espciales' were $10-$14 I think.  The house margarita was WONDERFUL (I don't know why someone here referred to it as 'watered down' because mine was great.)  THREE dipping sauces for their delicious homemade tortilla chips - we could have made a meal of just that.  Chili rellenos were so tasty, as were the different enchlidas we ordered.  We too had a 2-for-1 coupon, which is why we tried this place.  And we are so glad we did.  We will definitley be  frequent diners here.  Our waiter,  Ashton, was attentive and very friendly.  We too were seated immediately.  The decor is very nice.

Staying at the RV park at the casino and just one of our three choices here was Ole' Ole'. To start the chips were the best ever; they are made fresh daily from tortilla dough and the three salsas included cole slaw mix for the faint at heart.

The house Margarita would not be the best I've had, but for less than $5 it was more than adequate..... my wife enjoyed a second one.

Since I'm not from here, I can't say if it is the best in the area, but I can say that it is as good as any I've had. We had the fish tacos and chicken fajitas. Both were delicious and plentiful.

If we were here longer, we'd definitely go back again.

Definitely the best Mexican food in the area (and I think we've tried them all now).  Service was EXCELLENT ... Fast, friendly, and very responsive.  Chips are thick, crispy, and accompanied by good red, green, and habanero salsa.  The tableside guacamole was good -- but needed about half the sea salt (ask them to back off on the salt.).

The chile relleno is often a good yardstick, and Ole Ole did not disappoint.   The fish taco platter (three large, good tacos!) was also tasty.

The only downside -- short hours.  You'd think a casino restaurant could stay open a little later than 9:00 PM!  So go early -- very affordable, and delish!

I'm a bit of a food snob. I admit it. I've been lucky enough to eat at Michelin rated restaurants both in the US and abroad.  But, I come from humble beginnings and can absolutely appreciate a well put together meal, delicious food, and attentive service, regardless of the price tag. A good peanut butter and jelly sandwich knocks my socks off.

I was IMPRESSED with the attentive service and food at Ole Ole. As another yelper also experienced, we were seated right away, greeted by friendly staff providing water, drink orders, and food orders IMMEDIATELY. Many restaurants can learn from Ole Ole's service.

Freddie was our waitress and she was great. Made some kick ass guacamole at our table, was attentive but not overbearing.

Food and drink came quickly, but not in a crowded manner.

The only reason I can't give this place 5 stars is the water downed drinks. After two glasses of margaritas, I didn't feel the slightest buzz (and I am a light weight).

Ole Ole, if you can take the drinks up a notch in quality and alcohol, I'd give you 5 stars....

    Otherwise, AWESOME dinner!!!!!

This is a very pleasant restaurant with very pleasant food.  That is not to say great Mexican food.  I had carnitas which were pretty tasty, but bland next to "real" carnitas.  My wife had chile relleno, which is the real test for a Mexican restaurant.  They were pretty boring.  I'd say this is a good Americanized Mexican restaurant, worth a try but with modest expectations.

This listing was under Bars so I couldn't find it as a restaurant on Yelp on my iPhone.

It's located in a building consisting of a hotel, casino and bowling area.  It definitely caught my eye when we first walked in and looked more like my kinda place than the other restaurant they had to offer. We walked in and were greeted by the bartender but it was so dim that I couldn't really see her expression. The hostess stand is in the middle of the restaurant after you pass a couple tables in the bar area.

We were sat at a booth and given menus. It was still happy hour so I went for the margarita that wasn't really strong but it WAS happy hour. I ordered the two plate combo with a beef flauta and a chicken tostada with a side of sour cream.  I'd have to say it was OK. I didn't finish it. The meat was lacking any flavor.  I didn't want to complain but the server noticed I didn't eat much of my meal and offered me a free dessert.  I was eyeing the sopapillas and so I ordered those. Call me simple and cheap but they were nothing like Chevy's.

Overall, really great decor and very friendly service but the food is alright.

The food was pretty horrible. I think i got food poisoning. I went there with my husband one evening, and the service was pretty bad, i usually leave a pretty good tip but the waitress we had was horrible and im sure she wasnt a new waitress. I thought the evening was going well up until we ordered our drinks and we didnt get those till our food came! and i ordered the carnitas plate and it seemed a little too over cooked, cold, and somewhat sour. It was a bad night.

Ok. Ole Ole? Shannon said that we should try this place since someone who's a friend of a friend said that it was, and I quote "the best ever".  Sadly, I'll have to dismiss that rumor which is why I have a problem with historians vs. scientific fact.  Historians weren't there and scientists can't prove diddly since they weren't there either.  Which is why magazines like Star and National Enquirer got started with "rumors" like Loch Ness and why Stonehenge is around.
I ordered the sizzling fajitas and Shannon ordered the shrimp enchiladas.  The chips they brought out as a the usual appetizer were very thick and I enjoyed the three different dip selections we were given.  My fajitas arrived, sizzling, and Shannon was presented with a succulent looking enchilada dish which made me envious.  We immediately went to work and I found myself without flour tortillas. I asked the waitress for another batch and her first words were, "You know that costs an extra 0.99 cents."  It wasn't, "Yes sir." or "No problem, but we DO have to charge an extra amount for extra tortillas."  This put such a bad taste in my mouth that I ordered the extra tortillas with a growl in my voice as I said, "Yes please."
Shannon also had a house margarita that was just that, from the house.  I apologize, my Yelpites, that this place angered me so much over simple cheap 99 cent tortillas that I could not complete my meal.  I wasn't that I wasn't notified pre-meal or that I really never noticed it on the menu, but it was that our waitress said it in such a monotone voice that I knew it was something she repeats on a daily basis.  Come on Ole Ole, just serve your customers an extra batch of 99 cent tortillas for free.  Maybe the place would have more people in it than we saw.

Overall: Good Mexican place. Didn't expect that much honestly, but was very pleasantly surprised.

Food: Thick tortilla chips with salsa, tomitillo and mexican slaw as appetizer. Had the sizzling beef fajitas - came in three parts. First part was the sizzling iron plate with thinly sliced steak, onions and bell peppers. FLavor was excellent,  came to the table still sizzling hot, more meat than expected, only problem was a few pieces of meat got overcooked while sitting on the hot skillet... so warning: less talking - more eating! Second part was the sides, creamy beans, mexican rice, guac, sour cream and some melted cheese - maybe ask on the side next time. Third part was a black container made to hold the flour tortillas - a lil thicker than i;m use to - but ok.

BF had Miguel's burrito, steak, it was so creamy, melt in your mouth, changed the green sauce to red sauce, so good. Had a scoop of guac and sour cream on the side.

Decor: Clean, lighting is dim, gives a nice ambiance, walk thru the bar area and into the dining area - felt like ur walking into an old mission.

Service: Very nice -servers that weren't yours still asked if you are doing okay. They were dressed with the theme, yet subtle.

I'll give it 5 stars woo-hoo as good as it gets, as far as Carson City goes. I like the interior, it makes you think the places is fancy and not a regular Mexican restaurant. I too went with the 2 for 1 coupon sent in the Gold Dust West mailer. After reading the other reviews I wanted to come here. Service was adaquate and the chips were nice, actually made there and not out of a big Costco bag. Food was good to except for the beans. They were more like cowboy baked beans then Mexican. All the prices are reasonable, not any more then Tito's.

OK, my BF gets this flier in the mail advertising the Gold Dust West. It has a 2 for 1 coupon for the new Mexican restaurant in the casino. So Mr. 2 for 1 wants to give it a try. I have never been to this place since it changed from the Pinion Plaza. Going in, it looks pretty much like a standard small casino. The new Mexican restaurant is in where the steakhouse used to be. Its actually pretty elegant and nicer looking then your standard Mexican place here in Carson. The menu is on line at:
    <a href="/redir?url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.gdwcasino.com%2FCarson%2Fimg%2FMenuForWebAllPagesSmall.pdf&s=95848be23707656c7c2ee4c557846f097009cf7f55bd529bc00c7b82664abdb8" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">http://www.gdwcasino.com…</a>
Prices didn't seem too high. One highlight, I thought was the made table-side guacamole. It was very tasty and only $5.99. Your server makes it right in front of you and spiced to your liking.  The chips tonight were made of flour tortilla. I like this better then the corn variety. I had the chicken mole' which I found very nice, but the chicken breast could have been larger....yes, larger breasts, just what we need! BF had the 3 way combo plate, with enchiladas and Chile relleno. All the food was actually surprisingly good and service was fine too. So maybe I have found a new choice for Mexican food in Carson. So all you Carson Yelpers, maybe you guys got that mailer too...give it a try! Oh look, there's $5.00 off coupons in there for the coffee shop...guess he's gonna wanna try that too! BTW house margaritas are only $2.99 now in the Mexican restaurant.....not bad tasting either, I had 2!

Tonight I had an unexpected dinner at Olé Ole in the Gold Dust West Casino in Carson City.  We did not even know this place existed, we chanced up on it while traveling through town and wow am I glad we did.

In a town simply packed full of small, authentic Mexican restaurants and Taquerías, it was amazing to us that a casino would choose to open yet another place serving Mexican food, but after eating here, my companion and I feel that this savvy casino knew exactly what they were doing opening Olé Ole on April 1 of this year.

I remember going to this location many years ago when it was the Steak House; it was very beautiful then, and it's no less attractive now. We were immediately impressed with the nice atmosphere, which was not the kitschy American Mexican look we were expecting.

We were seated immediately by a very friendly hostess, and then our waitress came IMMEDIATELY with water and with a big, bright smile, proceeded to take our drink order and bring it back faster than you can say "wow, she's great!"  They're having a $2.99 special on the house margarita, so that's what we ordered. On the rocks, no salt.  It was, quite simply, the best margarita I've had in a very long time. It's completely house made with agave nectar and lime and it was out of this world, especially for only $2.99 (I had two!)

A house made red salsa, tomatillo salsa, and Mexican slaw were quickly brought to our table along with a big basket of warm chips. They were all very tasty, but the BEST was the guacamole we ordered, which was speedily, cheerfully and expertly made tableside by the world's nicest waitress. (Jenny, Queen of the Flying Avocado, you rocked!)

It was hard to choose from this menu, which we felt had great prices, and surprising choices; we finally settled on the Chile Rellenos ($9.99) and the Sizzling Fajita Combo ($12.99).

The Rellenos were fantastic. Two large poblano chilies were stuffed with oaxaca cheese, dipped in a wonderful tasting batter and fried a delightful golden brown. The chilies were cooked perfectly, and the cheese was oozingly delicious.  They were topped with a very yummy jalapeno cream cheese sauce and served with a nice Spanish rice and beans that had a decidedly chunky texture, which I liked.

The Fajita plate had an amazing amount of very tasty, perfectly cooked chicken, steak and shrimp. Normally on a plate like this you get a lot of onion and bell pepper, and not much meat; here, it was the opposite. There were more shrimp on there than I could believe, all cooked and seasoned perfectly.  This dish also came with rice, beans, yet more guacamole, sour cream and tortillas.

The deserts our neighbors were having looked fantastic but we just could not fit in another bite; will have to try those another time.

I can tell you that for being in a casino, and especially for the price, we were deeply impressed with this new restaurant, both in food and service.  The hostess said they might start up a happy hour; I hope they do, because this would be the town in which to do it.

They are off to a great start. I hope that when we come through town again that  Olé Ole is still doing such a great job with their service and food, because this was a fun, delicious way to spend a weeknight, and I very much look forward to coming here again, even if it's just for chips and margaritas, any night of the week!
