Beer, huge burger with a buttery bun, pulled pork AND a patty with onions. YUM Wandering in on a Tuesday afternoon, seasoned bad boys (or alcoholics) bellied up to the bar and many open tables sat open. I definitely see the appeal to this place. There are a bunch of tvs available, the staff is friendly, drinks are cheap, and theres lots of specials including 50 cent wings, $1 tacos, and $1 mini burgers. See the pic a fellow Yelper posted. In fact, if I lived nearby this would be my go to for when Im craving something cheesy, deep fried or just plain bad for you munchies. The menu is packed and has just about anything to please any American palate.
The exterior of this establishment is unassuming. However, stop in for some good ole American grub with some friends and it'll have you wondering why you waited so long.
I really want to give this place a 2.5 stars due to my most recently experience. Â I've been here plenty of times before for family lunches to watching the Hawks game and always had a nice time. Â For some reason, whomever was commanding the sound volume of the system was clearly deaf in both ears. Â The sound was maddening. Â They should be handing out ear plugs when you walk it. Â Hello OSHA! Â I wanted to stuff my croutons in my ears to save my hearing. Â You couldn't hear what anyone was saying. Â People were screaming to turn the volume down. Â This was not a pleasant experience.
The service was friendly and fast when I first got there but after the place got packed, these kids didn't hustle as fast. Â They need to step it up a bit here.
The food - no complaints.
Came here for dinner with the family, and my overall opinion is this place is an okay neighborhood joint. Â
Our waiter was nice but...off. Service was a little on the slow side. Â We weren't in any hurry so it wasn't a big deal.
The food is acceptable, but nothing out of this world. I ordered the Pesto Veggie Panini with waffle fries. The sandwich was good, but not great. It was really heavy on the mozzarella which was fine (I love me some cheese!) but really drowned out the flavor of the pesto and veggies (mushrooms, onions, and peppers). Â They might as well have just left the pesto off all together. Â The bread on the bottom got really soggy, but the top was nice and crispy. The waffle fries would have been awesome if they'd been hot. Â Honestly, I think my food probably sat for a bit before it was served. Â That would explain the soggy bottom bread and coldish fries.
The rest of my dining company ordered the fish fry. I tried some of my boyfriend's fish. The breading was saltier than necessary. Everyone seemed to enjoy their food well enough though. Â Also, they don't have cocktail sauce here. Â This was kind of a big deal to one of my dining companions.
Kudos to them for having some badass coupons - free ribs, free salad, you can take it to go!
The decor is upscale sports bar. Lots of TVs. The bathroom is the cleanest, nicest bar bathrooms I've set foot in for quite some time.
Bottom line: I would come back here without protest, but it definitely would not be my first choice.
