Place is in a great location, unfortunately when I was there the weather was bad and most of the are by the water is no repaired from the storm. But you cant blaim the restaurant for that. Staff was great and real friendly, got the calamari appetizer wich I have to sadly say wasn't that great. My date had penne and vodka with scallops witch wad great and I had a panko chicken sandwich was great as well
Sangria tasted good but was week alcohol wise, and house pinot grigio  was great .
I no I keep giving the good a bad all at once, also the waitress asked if she could take our plates, I said yes and ordered a glass of wine. She brought wine and also the check wich I didn't ask for. But any way id definatly recommend and go back again
Call Robert Irvine from Restaurant Impossible!!! Clean the place up and get a chef who is willing to cook!!! Â Menus are dirty, place is run down. The salsa is not homemade, the guacamole is not homemade, the roll was stale, the chicken dish was swimming in a watery sauce. The $70 for two could have been spent better somewhere else! On the plus side the water view is nice. The waitress was wonderful and the drinks were good. Maybe if you drink enough you will not notice the poor quality of the food!!! Cheers!!!
Review Source:Definitely come here for the view 'on the deck'. Â An awesome outdoor summer spot. Â There is an indoor part to the restaurant but the food is def mediocre so the only reason I ever go back is for the outdoor patio. Â Order a pitcher of sangria while you sit and ogle at the view---you can see Manhattan fr here!
Review Source:The food was pretty good, the bar scene was fun, the staff was unbelievable. Â Awesome view of the city even on a cloudy, rainy night. Â Showed up at 10:05pm with the kitchen closing at 10 and the bartender upstairs was able to get them to churn out one last table of 6, and the food was all good in spite of our 11th hour order. Â He was definitely the hero of the day; without a good meal, all the jager shots might have got me thrown off the deck.
Review Source:It's all about the view, baby! Â The food was OK, nothing stellar is being served here. Â Fried zucchini was decent and my seafood pasta entree was good enough to take home leftovers.
I noticed lots of locals enjoying each other's company and the view while noshing on standard shore fare. Â Worth a stop in for just a drink and the view at the outdoor bar. Â The sunsets are quite something from "on the deck".
I got food poisoning here a year ago, and I haven't had the balls to go back. Â I had gone to this place on several occasions for food and drinks before, and never had a problem. Â The view is nice, especially when the weather is hot there's a breeze of the water. Â But I was never impressed with the food. Â Good beer selection and outdoor bar. Â But,... now I'll always have a bad association with it. Â Too bad.
Review Source:Recently went 3 weekends in a row, for the waterfront loc, view, & fresh seafood. Note there is an elevator, right at the left side entrance (as you face the building coming from First Ave).
What we liked: very fresh oysters, plump steamers, lightly fried calamari, homemade thick potato chips that comes with each sandwich. Side salad orders were good & well portioned. Fast and attentive service.
Less good orders: ribeye steak was slightly overdone (for a Medium order).
Grouper entree was mushy and had no taste really, same for rice that came with mahi mahi entree.
I agree with another review that meal service should come with bread rolls or crackers.
Ups and downs: Â Ups--1) Best view for miles in any direction, 2) Wait staff...friendly and attentive, 3) Long Board on-tap..Mmmm!, 4) Homemade potato chips are superb. Â Downs: Â 1) Stairs going up to the place are filthy! --take the elevator if you have a weak stomach, 2) Eating inside can put you next to a bunch of small (whining) children---go late! Â 3) Fish dishes can sometimes be around the bend--if it smells bad, refuse it.
Review Source:So you're in NYC. For some reason you get on a ferry and you end up in this weird beautiful small town in NJ. You look up and there is a huge deck overlooking the Hudson Bay and the NY skyline and anywhere between twenty and lets say eighty people or so are out there getting hammered and looking for love. The food is above average bar food. But just a little bit above average - and a lot more expensive.
People are friendly enough to not scare you from coming back. But the only reasons to return are 1. The view  2. The drama of watching a twenty one year old girl freaking out crying because her boyfriend cheated on her. 3. Maybe something fishy and fried.
Gorgeous panoramic views of the New York skyline, Sandy Hook and the marina. It's on the second floor, didn't see an elevator, not the best choice for anyone who has trouble walking. There is a large bar outside, unfortunately it was super smokey out there too so we ate inside. There was plastic on the sides to protect from the wind. Service was very good, plenty of waitresses hurrying around. It would have been nice to have bread, rolls, crackers or something while we were deciding. Since this place is right on the water, they had a large seafood selection which is what we got. Salads do NOT come with the meals. Very pleased with my selection of lobster topped tilapia with rice-there were large chunks of lobster-very tasty. We also got a chipolte pasta with pan-seared scallops which was also very good. Prices were fair, most entrees were around $20. Nice bright, atmosphere with a water view from any seat. There is a parking lot right there..............and the marina is right there too for a nice after dinner stroll.
Review Source:Came here for a quick bloody Mary on a Sunday before taking the boat back to the city. They did a great job of renovating the original space but the bar service out side was lacking.... Also just one TV out side?? I couldn't see a thing.
We didn't eat but the food looked appetizing. Great view of the NYC skyline and Sandy Hook Bay.
