Nice place, I saw recommended by other yelpers, thank you.  I had the spicy teriyaki chicken dish, very good, spicy enough for me.  Clean inside, nice atmosphere.  and would probably go there again if I lived in that part of town

Sue knows what she is doing from the interior design to creating dishes inspired from her childhood in Hong Kong.

    Strongly Recommend:
    -Homemade eggrolls
    -BBQ Pork and Egg Cantonese
    -Salt and Pepper chicken
-Whatever Sue has created for the special of the day (Never disappointed)
-$4.50 glass of wine (Plum wine delicious!!!)

Best sauces and they are not lathered on thick like other chinese restaurants do.
Love this place and you will too!

If you go to Orient Cafe you must chat with Sue she is wonderful!

Despite being tucked in a strip mall, this is a hidden little gem, when it comes to Asian food.  The decor was tasteful.  The music at an appropriate level.  And the serving amounts are plentiful, and of a higher caliber than one would expect at first glance when driving past the storefront.

The hot-n-sour soup was delicious.  The crab rangoons were plump.  And my Thai curry was delicious.  And I love the option to design your own stir fry.

Only complaint?  Our hard-working and professional waiter Dan was being let down by a kitchen that could not keep up.  It wasn't a real bother to us because we were not in a hurry.  But it was noticeable, and Dan was apologizing to his customers.  (The complimentary egg rolls were a sign that he knew how to spin a bad situation.  And they were damn tasty).  Also, he bussing his own tables, and making his own cocktails.  That seems odd for a Saturday at 6pm.  How about getting the guy some help?!

We'll be back.  Naturally, the service speed may have been a fluke, so I wouldn't let my comments hold you back from trying this place.

The wife and I were out in the area Saturday night, and needed a decent meal.  So naturally, I checked in with the Yelp app to see where to go. There aren't a lot of great looking places in this area without spending an arm and a leg.

We came in here, and were seated quickly. Once I sat there for about five minutes without any service, I realized they might have been under-staffed. Or maybe it's always like that?  I gotta say, everyone there was really hustling to get things done, and I appreciate that. Even though they were running around like chickens with their heads cut off, the service was still very friendly and patient once they got to us!

We had the appetizer that comes with egg rolls, pot stickers, and crab rangoon. Everything was pretty good, and didn't seem pre-packaged.

I had my usual General Tso chicken for my meal. It was a massive amount of food for the price, and was great quality! No odd chewy pieces of chicken. The vegetables were fresh and the sauce was great! I don't recall what the wife ordered... I'm a good watcher, not listener. Maybe neither?   I think it was a "build your own" stir fry type dish, and I don't recall any complaints.

This place is definitely higher quality than take out chinese food, and the menu had some other great looking dishes on it too.

There were a lot of dishes on the menu that were noodle based, and they sounded pretty good. I think this whole noodle dish craze must have rolled in while I was living under a rock apparently?

There seems to be some great food here, and I think the lunch special prices would be a great value!

Incredible food, beautiful clean restaurant, friendly, accomodating staff, who could ask for more in this area ?

Tried several dishes and appetizers and all were well prepared and delicious. Good porportions and nice presentation. This is a diamond in comparsion to the average carry out fare that is the only other option in this area. What a great find !

Would highly recommend the Orient Cafe and plan on visiting regularly.

Food is good you can even get a little Thai/Vietnamese flare, noodles with fresh basil and bean sprouts. The place is clean and friendly! Reviewer MK must not like real Asian food much or try any variety they are dead wrong on this place!

Our favorite Chinese place.  Quaint, great service, and the food is the highest quality that we've ever seen in a Chinese restaurant.  We love this place!

Not many nice sit-down Chinese restaurants in the area...maybe the only one in Homer Glen. The food is very good, especially the ribs, orange chicken and egg rolls (which I typically abhor). Service is always good. I find the male owner friendly and eager to please. The woman (owner's wife??) not so much. The place seems clean which often doesn't seem the case with similar restaurants. Good for lunch.

Great ambiance, not the strip mall sort...

Loved the fact that they have a great variety of teas.
