I never even knew this place existed until someone else invited us to dinner there and we were pleasantly surprised. Â The food is consistently excellent in a comfy atmosphere. Â Granted, it is a sports bar, but they make all their food in-house, down to the hand cut fries and all of their salad dressings. Â It's in an inconspicuous location and a little hard to find but worth a try!
Review Source:Decent place - food ok, service great, & priced right for a vacationer not to feel like breaking the bank. Other reviewers rightly complained about extra costs but affordable. Especially convenient since on location of the hotel staying at! Ribs, burger & chicken pretty good. Not fancy but solid standard fare so order with care w/ understanding it's a sports/drinking bar with food!
Review Source:If you enjoy air conditioned dining, I would highly recommend that you try another spot. Based on my overall experience, I am certain that they ration the AC to save $. The place is a sauna. We finished up and left as quick as we could to cool off outside - June in Boca. Â The food is bland, mundane, and ordinary. Â Nothing special. Â Be sure to read the fine print and ask questions when ordering at this joint. Example - although a baked potato is listed as an entree side dish choice, turns out there is a surcharge. In addition, if you order it loaded, it adds about 33% to the cost of your meal. I ordered the grilled chicken breast with a loaded baked potato. I was mistakenly served fries. After I pointed out their error, they later brought out a baked potato and charged me excessively for it. When I challenged it, they told me that there is a charge for a baked potato, and loaded baked potato is even more, though there is no mention of it in the menu and the surcharge was not pointed out when I ordered it. It's like buying a car. Watch all the bait-and-switch tactics. Don't fall for the "specials" and promotions. They all have strings and fine print. Don't be surprised when you arrive to find that the menu does not match the menu that they have posted on their own website, and that the actual prices are higher. I would highly recommend that you stick with better alternatives such as Duffy's or Flanigan's, especially if you enjoy AC.
Review Source:This place is a little gem!
If I hadn't stayed at the hotel I never would have stopped in, but since the Tiki Hut and Restaurant were right on property my vacation was excellent! (see my review of the hotel where my room got burgled.)
Food was delicious. Hot Roast Beef, Fried Shrimp, Philly Cheese Steak. MMM They have different specials for each day of the week! and Lunch specials every day.
Kano in the Tiki Hut is a total doll! Tiffany was super sweet too, she even knew Ocean Beach where I come from in San Diego!
The drinks were also killer priced! 5 beer bucket for 15 bucks and they don't even make you take them all at once so they can stay cold!
If you're in the area stop by and check out the Tiki Hut. Be sure to bring a towel and enjoy the pool area as well! The hotel staff never checked to see if people were guests or just visiting the Tiki Hut and the pool was heated to perfection.
Just left "Our Place Lounge" in the Boca Raton Plaza Hotel. Â One of the best burgers I've had since moving to Florida many years ago. Â They've got a full bar, and great staff. Â It's seems like the kind of place where everyone knows your name...
The hotel the restaurant is in leaves quite a bit to be desired, but this place is a little gem. Â We almost went to a Denny's two doors down because we assumed the place would "match" the place it was in. Â Well have no fear. Â It's great.
We had a few drinks, dinner, and are now back in our stinky hotel room. Â Our place was definitely the bright spot in our stay this time around.
Had special for dinner, spaghetti and meatballs. Waitress said all food was made from scratch. Meal was very good, but it was $3-4.50 for a beer depending on brand. Next morning stopped for breakfast. Had $4+ eggs toast w/hashbrowns. Tasted like it was cooked with last nights reused oil. Pancakes were rubbery.
Review Source:Really good roast beef sandwich. Â Unless you know this place is here, you'd never find it. Â It is inside the lobby area of the Boca Raton Plaza, a non-descript travelers hotel on US1 in Boca. Â Nice place when you get into the bar (the lobby's nice too) and it's best classified as a sports bar, with plenty of HD sports viewing. Â When you go here, it's like your in any decent hotel bar while out of town on business, except, you have to drive home from it.
