I'm a huge fan of daytime dancing. Not too many places in driving distance where you can tan on the beach, take a few steps to have lunch, and get out of your seat to dance your booty off. Everyone for the most part is here to have a good time. Drinks are reasonbly priced considering they could charge way more for the constant crowd they get. Dj is always good on the weekends.
Review Source:lovely view.
but I have to ask, why when I walk in to find 5 hosts behind the host stand, and ask for a table on the sand, did they all look at me like i had a you know what drawn on my face? as soon as I could I went to the bathroom to check the mirror, nope, nothing there. so what was with the glares people??
once my friend and I were seated (under the tent, not where we asked for) we waited several minutes for a server, being that no one had come over and having enough time to observe open tables, my friend braved the lazy and judgey host stand to ask for one of them, to which they replied..."well they're dirty" there are five of you standing there. clean it. what else are you doing??
the waiter was nice enough but i found it really bothersome when i ordered my burger with a side salad he did not ask any questions just said ok. uhhhh temp? salad dressing? hello? he informed me hes been instructed not to ask people how they'd like their food cooked. so to the cooks, really guys?! i know how to cook to temp using my thumb muscle, are you that bleeping lazy? well, obviously.
all in all, its a nice enough place to get wasted on the beach, but don't expect a good dining experience, shits not gonna happen.
Excellent spot FOR WHAT IT IS.
Too much negativity here - Paddy's is not supposed to be and is not trying to be an upscale waterfront dining experience. Â It's an awesome location right on the beach offering food and drink to those who want to enjoy it. Â No one is forcing you to eat here. Â Again - this is not supposed to be fine dining!
Nothing is over priced - it's average pricing - maybe even below considering the location. Â I sat at the bar today and was taken care of by two bartenders who really did want to make sure I was taken care of. Â Just because you go on a Friday night at Sunset and you don't receive the best service doesn't mean it's a terrible place.
I had the pulled pork sandwich and fries - they were fine. Â I wouldn't tell people to go out of their way to try the sandwich but I had zero complaints. Â Everyone was friendly - even the guy checking IDs who has one of the most difficult jobs to perform while still being friendly.
Beer selection is good, drink selection is cheesy - but I get it. Â Can't wait to return when all the renovations are done. Â I'm sure the owners were devastated when they lost their business last year. Â You have my support guys!
DISGRACEFUL!
I wish I could give this place negative stars. I feel like writing this review is a waste of time but I am so miffed that I wanted to give the general public a heads up.
Walked in this place around 8pm and were told to sit anywhere we liked. There were about 5 tables taken out of 40 or so which we thought would make for a perfect night out with friends. Boy, were we mistaken!  Once we sat down we looked over the menu. Nothing special. Just COMPLETELY overpriced cocktails and  mediocre food- overpriced as well. This wasn't surprising to us since we have been here multiple times before. We were seated for exactly 24 minutes and not one single server approached our table. We watched three "staff" members walk by our table and look directly at us. We assumed these "staff" members were bouncers.  We counted  3 servers on duty in our area  for the FIVE tables that were occupied. NOT ONE SINGLE SERVER APPROACHED OUR TABLE. Not one single employee acknowledged us once we passed the hostess station.  They did however take the time to glance over to notice that we had menus in hand and nothing on the table! Worst service we have ever had in our entire lives. There are much nicer, cleaner and friendlier bars in Misquamicut than PADDYS!  Don't waste your time or money!
The restaurant, patio, and bar all sustained MAJOR damage as a result of Hurricane Sandy. Â The porch roof has been knocked over, the entire patio has been destroyed, and the entire building was innundated with water.
But the owners say they will rebuild! Â Yay! Â It's a Rhode Island hotspot and it wouldn't be the same without it.
If you are looking to blow money, drink out of cutesy cups, and take shots out of sharks, this is your place. If you want a decent meal and a beer or other beverage don't go here.
Paddy's reminded way too much of Jersey shore: grimy, expensive, obnoxious...I could go on, but I think you get my point.
I do understand the draw of this place, but for me it's just not what I'm looking for anymore. If I wanted to go back to this beach, I would just try to sneek booze on.
Can't really define a specific number of stars for this place. If I was 25 and single again, I'd give this place 4 or 5 stars, and I would be here all the time. Â But for the old fart that I am now, married with children, I can't justify dropping so much money here.
Holy cow the drinks are expensive. Food is what you'd expect, the servers are nice, and the location can't be beat, but the drink prices are out of control.
It really makes me wish I was 25 again.
The food here is really, really low quality. The shredded chicken was absolutely not cooked that day. Burrito was soggy and falling apart, and the fries were stone cold. Completely un acceptable for the price. Besides having to ask three times for more napkins and waiting almost a half hour for the check the service was fine. A jackass convention situated in a very nice beach setting.
Review Source:WOW! If Paddy's is not affiliated with the rental booths attached the sides of their bar than I apologize and give them three stars. Â I went to Paddy's yesterday. Â Was having fun with some friends and decided to rent a boogie board from the aforementioned rental booth. Â The piece of crap that the trashy 20ish bimbo gave me broke on the first wave it hit. Â I want to use the foulest language possible to describe what a bitch this girl was when I went to return it but I will save it. Â I do feel a little bad about dropping the F-U bomb on this smug bimbo but you should have seen her smirk as she was lying to me about how she "tested that board out" before she gave it to me. Â That is so uncool. Â
Ate a $10 tomato caprese, had a $14 piña colada that came with a great take home Parrot cup.  Ate outside and otherwise had a good time.  Food was a rip off but the location was excellent.  Other than looking over my shoulders for an hour wondering if I was going to get kicked out for my little hissy I had a great time.  Might come back in disguise. Â
Waiter Adam was really good.
The scene at Paddy's is all about who you're hanging out with. Â Usually when I'm here I'm with a large group that's mostly into relaxing with a few beers. Â we don't care about the music, the gimmicks, etc. Â That's for the young people who really seem to like to air it out. Â for those people it can be about who you're picking up, who's going to be the first person to vomit, who can fall down the most, etc. Â That's also fun, it's just not what my group is into. Â That's one of the nicer things about Paddy's. Â It's pretty spread out. Â You can enjoy the view of the water, people watch, get hammered, dance, eat, relax...whatever you're into.
The security is very professional. Â They are quick to respond to a fall, crash, brawl, etc. but you don't really see them unless you're looking for them. Â The waiters and bartenders are mostly very good. Â The place is all about volume sales and high prices so it's not going to be a place to take a date for a romantic dinner. Â I'm sure there are places close by that will be suitable but Paddy's is a beach bar. Â It's a constant party. Â There's a lot of noise and activity and craziness.
The food is surprisingly good here. Â In our group the Thai Mussels went over great ($14) and the Stuffed Clams ($12 called "Stuffies") were perfect to dip in the sauce the mussels came it. Â The clams were more like a clam flavored bread pudding and I would not order them again except to dip in the mussel sauce. Â We asked the waiter if we could get some bread to dip in the sauce. Â To his credit he told us bread was $5 and was only three small pieces and he thought it was a rip-off. Â I'm not sure why they don't serve bread with it. Â Most places would. Â The Fish and Chips $16 were awesome! Â My favorite, however, was the Beach Burger $15. Â It's "stuffed" with american cheese and layered with sauteed onions and fried mac and cheese nuggets. Â It was outrageous! Â Another fried had the BBQ Burger $15 which was also stuffed with american cheese and topped with pulled pork and cole slaw. Â
We always find the service to be pretty good. Â Sometimes you'll get someone who doesn't know the menu or the drink list, etc. but I'm sure there is a high turnover rate. Â Likewise, we see some of the same people year after year so I'm sure the people who work here do pretty well if they can tolerate the constant siege of drunk tourists.
Paddy's is really expensive compared to normal places. Â It's at least 50% more costly than other places off the strip. Â You're paying for location and competing with other tourists for food and drinks. Â Bring a big wad of money if you're heading out to Paddy's and just let it fly and try some new things. Â You'll have a great time!
A nice fun place to eat while you relax an enjoy the view of the ocean. Â This restaurant offer an outdoor seating overlooking the beach. Â Servers are very attentive and the drinks are great.
The food is ok and a bit on the expensive side. Â The drinks are also expensive and not too strong.
I would come back only for the clam fritters but that's about it.
Don't go when its too busy. My wife and I hung out for an hour until we could be sat... which us fine because they were busy. But while we waited we watched as tables sat empty for up to 20 mins at a time. Management has no idea how to handle large crowds, especially on the weekends. You'll wait a while for no reason. The food isn't even that good.
Review Source:The only good thing about this place was the view. Â Went in on a thurs afternoon for lunch. Â What a disappointment!! We ordered a burger, nachos and a few frozen drinks. Â The drinks were terrible, food was so greasy and it's way overpriced. Â Def won't be back again!!! Â I only gave it two stars cause its on the beach.
Review Source:I have a love hate relationship with Paddy's. Nothing makes me happier than sitting 20 feet from the water, on a beach deck with a Corona (Light) in hand. If you go during the week, this can be a relaxing experience. You can watch the sun set, Â watch volleyball players in the tournament, and get a little color. On Saturday and Sundays the music blasts and you can have a great time watching people try to dance in their bathing suits. Let's be honest, drunk dancing is never attractive. In broad daylight and skimpy suits, it boarders on a hot mess. People watching at its finest!
Other times, Paddy's feels like the set of a bad reality TV show. Foam Party's every Friday night? Seriously? Gogo dancers? In daylight?
I took it down from 4 to 3 stars because it is expensive (hello tourist spot! You are paying for the view) and the food is pretty terrible. I recommend buying one of the refillable cups if you goal is to get on the dance floor because you'll safe yourself a lot of money.
4 stars for the bar however!
I went to Paddy's this weekend for a little beach fun in Westerly. Â It is pretty intresting for a beach bar and you will get some good people watching in at this place.
First off, it is a restaurant, bar, and I am assuming a hotel. Â I only experienced the bar portion. Â The bartenders are really nice and helpful to start. Â Great personalities all around. Â The Tiki Shack on the Beach has classic beach themed drinks and ice cold beers. Â The shots come attached with flowers and the cups are very beached themed for mixed drinks.
There is a live DJ spinning top 40 hits and this is wear it gets intresting for people watching. Â If you love to dance, you can get your groove on, but if you are not blessed at dancing just sit back and watch. Â It is a more "Jersey Shorish" crowd that is doing the dancing, so a lot of fist pumping and booty shaking was seen that day. Â
I like the atmosphere of the other side a little bit better with the live music and that changes up too!
Paddys is a must go if you have never been to the beaches in Westerly. Â It is just a fun time.
I'm a fan of Paddy's.
If you're into being a snob, chilling on yachts and putting your name on a list at highbrow places than you're most likely not going to like Paddy's.
However, if you're on the Misquamicut beaches and want to drink on the beach legally (the private beaches really have been cracking down on the adult beverages this season), wander on down to Paddy's.
On Saturdays, it does get a little wild when the newly minted 21 year olds come out to the bar but overall this is a solid spot.
Sweet beach bar!! Â Awesome drinks!, however, they're a little on the expensive side.. Â Music is really laud, but not as loud as most clubs (probably because it's outside).
This is a great place to visit if your in the area!, I haunt stayed at the hotel, but maybe in the near future.
My friends and I stayed here for Memorial Day Weekend and despite it being completely over priced, we had a great time. The rooms are small with a queen sized bed and a futon meant to sleep 4 people. Each room has a sand pit which was great especially since the beach got a little crowded. No one gave us any problems, in fact all the staff was very nice and left you alone to do as you please. All in all, it was a decent weekend get away spot but probably not a place I'd go to again.
P.S. The burgers at the restaurant are delicious! Eat one.
We drove all the way from Boston to find a real beach bar. With a DJ, great cancun style drinks, a spring break atmosphere, and tables right in the sand, this place is as close to a real beach bar as you'll get in New England!
So what its a little trashy and spring breaky, have a margarita and get over it, you're not in St. Tropez, deal with it!
I'm a fan.
