    Wow--come hungry--I didn't know what I was in for.
I was driving thru an area of Greenwood that I don't normally pass by, and saw the sign, and thought I'd try it for lunch.  If anything, the sign indicated ice cream parlor ("creamery")  too, so what could be better.
My  full-sized breaded "Colonel's Tenderloin" ($7.89) started out as 9 ounces of real meat, not some trucked-in frozen piece of thin pork-product.  The meat fibers had directionality!  The bun was just as big (no more pork bigger than bun here, see pic), and they make their own buns to boot.  Very yummy, but had to take half of it home!  The tenderloin seems to be a big seller, don't have to guess why...
The cole slaw was also taken home, which is unusual for me, don't normally do that.  Interesting creamy slaw, with a hint of sweetness that was an appreciated surprise.

Made-fresh "Vanilla Bean" shake for an accompanying treat was huge too, ($3.69) it filled the big glass and over half of the metal shake blending cup again (see photo), ended up in a to-go styrofoam cup and being finished over the next 2 hours as I continued on my errands.  So delicious!  The Ashby's Ice Cream (<a href="/redir?url=http%3A%2F%2Fashbysicecream.com&s=7976ae2746d736362a2acdee54e0933127d9a29e21dcfd8a595e10e7e0c86e3c" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">http://ashbysicecream.com</a> I have found online now) is really wonderful stuff.  Looks like it is an award-winning manufacturer, check them out. You'd have to go to Bloomington or Zionsville to get Ashby's otherwise.

My waitresses (2 tended & checked on me) were very patient & polite, especially when I was clueless as a first-time visitor.  I asked a ton of questions about a lot of restaurant type topics.  I ended up ordering an extra BBQ pulled pork sandwich ($5.99) to go, to take home for my hubby later.  It came with their "award winning" cole slaw too.

I could have easily given it 4 stars not 5 because of the location & setting, but it is not something they can really control.  The strip mall is an old one, with parking lot in need of a lot of repairs.   The building is old and well-used, but it's what is on the inside that counts most.  Let's be  honest, if you tend to judge a book by its cover, then don't come here.  If you want "foo-foo" then don't come here.  This is home cooking.  Items like Beef Manhattan & Country Fried chicken & grilled 6-cheese.  Pies & cobblers. They do their own BBQ there on-site too.

Patriots Table is one of those local, well-kept secrets run by a "mom and pop" that don't have an advertising budget.

If you have a fairly large group, they would prefer you call & get reservations, and they will ramp up the staffing levels to make sure all patrons are well tended.

Went in for Sunday lunch with my family. Arrived at 1:30. There was 16 of us. After 15 minutes of not being helped, they then proceeded to try and sit our family in the ice cream parlor, we argued with them seeing that there were tables available to be easily pushed together and were just needing cleaned off. They seem annoyed but finally got us sat at 2:10. The waitress never got out drink orders for 10 minutes, then we waited another 20 mins when we finally got our drinks. I had to be at work down the street at 3, so at 5 till the waitress finally brought me my food Togo. I guess the rest of my family's food took another 10 minutes. We felt ignored and like a bother the whole time. Food was subpar.i will never eat here again.

What a great way to get a great meal for your and your main squeeze to get a lot of food for not too much $$$$$!

I just discovered this restaurant. My friends have been telling me about it and I never went. What a mistake. They have great specials every day. I had a country steak dinner and I could not finish it. My boyfriend got the large breaded pork tenderloin. It was huge. He cut it in half and took the second half home to eat later.

For dessert we had their ice cream. It is called Ashby's Sterling. I have not heard of it before, but it is really good. The server (Outstanding) said that they won the #1 Vanilla Bean ice cream in the country last year.

I felt like we had two servers. Both of them asked if we needed anything and then the manager came to our table and talked to us and made sure we had everything we needed. They really try to make sure everything is perfect.

Try this restaurant, it is really good and the price is right.

Well let me start off by saying that the wait staff at this place is wonderful well at least our waitress was. Thats about where it stopped though my wife ordered the country fried steak and to our shock it came out almost completely pink on the inside so naturally it was sent back. The waitress was very apologetic and brought her a beef Manhattan which unfortunately came out tasting a little funny as well so the damage had been done and she was finished. Now as for me i ordered the steak with the brandy butter which on the menu says they do not recommend you to get it over medium which as all of us steak lovers know is a good call for flavor sake. Well ironically it came out well done which made me chuckle i politely informed our already embarrassed waitress who kindly took it back to the kitchen for a redo. Now here is where it gets a little sad. The second try it came out rare :( so at this point what can you do but laugh. I had her send it back to the kitchen for a third and final try but to my dismay the same exact steak i was just served arrived at our table having just been thrown back on the grill which by the way was still not medium as recommended and had lost the brandy butter it should have been basted in. Overall a very poor showing and we will not be returning.

This place was awesome! It serves great comfort food. My family needed doggy bags. Food was fairly inexpensive with great deals. The ice cream was like none other. Great flavors of ice cream and they allow you to sample.  It does have a cracker barrel type style but the food is better. I must say  there were quite a few empty seats. I hope more people will visit because this place is one that deserves to be acknowledged.

I wish there was someway to separate the restaurant and the ice cream parlor. This review is about the ice cream parlor.

It's awesome. They serve gourmet Ashby's ice cream... and they choose some of the more exotic flavors that Ashby's makes. Carrot Cake flavor is shockingly good. The banana and cookies flavor tastes just like Nilla wafers and - surprise - banana pudding. You have to go in and try it.

Another thing... their ice cream parlor is off to the side, so you don't have to be seated to get served. You can just go to the ice cream parlor and order. The staff is friendly and chatty. They are very generous with their "sample" sizes and I get the feeling they would have let us try a sample of all 20 flavors if we had asked.

    Recommend!

I have to give the Patriots' Table mixed reviews.  It wasn't busy and service was good.  This place definitely attracts the older crowd.  My food was average, but my husband said his (steak and a baked potato) wasn't very good.  We probably won't be back.

Stopped in hoping to find a good independent eatery in Greenwood.   The place has a lot of police/military/US History stuff on the walls.  Not what I would call contemporary.  Service was very good with a very nice waitress.

This place serves what I would call "country food" - something between Cracker Barrel and the County Fair.  80% of the menu can be cooked in the deep fryer.

We got grilled tenderloins which had a lot of fatty bites and a grilled chicken.  The grilled chicken was supposed to have cajun seasoning and blue cheese.  I could barely make out the cajun seasoning and the sandwich was absolutely covered in the cheese.  They gave me some buffalo sauce which made the sandwich edible.  My wife hated her tenderloin and the coleslaw.

I was unhappy with the price of sides ($2 per small dish of applesauce for my kids) and didn't feel like I got $47 worth of quality food considering other options in the area.

This place appears to cater to an older clientele - I was one of 5 customers there under 50.  We will not go back.  The ice cream parlor looked like it might be okay.

We visited today and will never return!  After waiting 1hr. for our food, no refills of coffee, no visit from our waitress we left!  The hostess then argued with us when we were leaving saying she saw our waitress near our table.  Yea near as she walked by a million times!!!  And the kicker was they weren't even busy!!!! No Patriot there!!! (only gave a star cause I ha too to write a review)

My wife and I tried this place out and was not disappointed. The food was great and the staff was very helpful. We will be going back for breakfast in the future.

As soon as we drove up, I could tell it was going to be something special.  We happened to try it out on Wednesday night - Mexico night.  I had an enormous Chimichanga Magnifico burrito that was busting at the seams with chicken and absolutely delicious.  I could actually only eat 1/3rd of it! The service from Sue was incredible and Mark (one of the owners) stopped by and had a great conversation with us.  You could tell how proud he was of the place - and he should be.  We had some of the award-winning ice cream to close the night off.  Absolutely delicious.  We'll be going back to try out the breakfast on the weekend!

My family had never been there, but went at the bequest of a family member. I don't know how long it's been open, but upon entry, I could tell it would be good. The decor is very Revolutionary War but with a twist of any kind of patriotism. It looks quaint, very simple and basic, but as soon as our waitress Sue dropped off our menus, I was hooked. It took me forever to decide on an entree because every night of the week, they serve a themed meal in addition to their house menu. I'm going back every night of the week! Appetizers are home cooked and down to earth, like Fried Green Tomatoes, Fried Jalapenos, ...  They also have a creamery within the building and their ice creams are to die for. Although they serve vanilla, there are many creative flavorings such as Cotton Candy (my daughter's new fav) and my new fav Green Apple. We were so impressed, we are bringing my parents and in-laws! Truly a hidden gem!!
