If you're looking to eat something that'll warm your bones, you can't beat pho. If you're looking for something that'll warm your bones AND be fresh and flavorful, you can't beat Pho 95.
Pho seems to be popping up everywhere, usually as an option on the crowded menu of your local Chinese takeout joint. In reality, pho is so much more and it's great to see places like Pho 95 that remind us.
The broth that Pho 95 serves up in the noodle dishes is nothing short of delicious, with a complex beef flavor that'll keep you coming back for more. All the meats I've chosen (there are lots of options) have been fresh and tender, but I think my favorite is  the special, which comes with more than enough prime beef cooked just right. It's a little more expensive (we're taking $1 or $2), but given how reasonable everything is (and how much food you get for the price), I don't think you'll mind. Make sure to add lots of basil, bean sprouts, and lime. I also add all the jalapenos and a couple of heaping spoonfuls of the chili sauce (not Sriracha, although that's also a good choice), but then again, I like mine really spicy.
If this place were on S. Federal, it'd get two or three stars. The flavors are just fine, for the most part. But the egg rolls are a little on the heavy/greasy side. Also, the prices are a bit on the higher end. I'm guessing that's b/c they have to pay rent at this mall, instead of being a hole-in-the-wall like all the other Vietnamese restaurants on Federal and Alameda.
It's another great option for Vietnamese food if I'm down in the Centennial/Littleton/Southglenn area and don't feel like driving up to West Denver. Extra stars for location and portion size.
Hubs and I came here for date night on Friday. We sat at the bar and enjoyed the happy hour until 6:00 which was $1.50 domestic bottles (including microbrews like Avery- not just crap like Coors), $2.00 foreign, $4 wells, and $4 glasses of wine. Pretty decent! They also have daily specials that run all night. On Friday it was $6 25oz drafts of either Coors Light or Easy Street Wheat. I don't think they have a special on Saturday but every other day they do.
For an appetizer, we decided to share the shrimp and pork spring rolls. These were ok. They were loaded with lettuce which made them a little too dry. I would have preferred more shrimp and maybe some avocado. I actually like the ones at Tokyo Joe's better!
For dinner, hubs had the appetizer sized ribs and a beef sandwich. I went with the traditional Pho- which rare steak and skirt steak. The ribs were pretty tasty- a little chewy in parts, but overall, good. I didn't eat the sandwich but he enjoyed it. The Pho was great. The broth was delicious- of course I doctor with everything. I throw in all of the side items they give you plus I douse with chili oil and sriracha. I wasn't that into my meat selection. I think next time I would try shrimp and maybe brisket.
Overall, we enjoyed it and it's great for a cold night! It always smells so good when you're walking around Southglenn. We'll definitely return for more Pho-tastic food.
Make no mistake - Pho 95 is as good as it gets! Â I've tried both of this name in Denver, the one here at Southglenn, and the other up on Federal. Â There is no comparison. Â
Pho 95 (Southglenn) has a great, clean, tasteful atmosphere (they just expanded). Â The broth is FABULOUS, not to mention the plethora of fresh herbs/jalapenos/sprouts and sauces available to you to doctor up your bowl as you please. Â I have never left here less than immensely satisfied. Â For those of you dining with company not interested in pho, they have a full menu and I can vouch for the grilled pork plate - Pho 95 knows their stuff! Â GO HERE NOW!
Had the pan fried noodles with chicken and veggies - excellent. Â Friend had pan fried noodles with beef and loved it. Â Other friend had medium size soup bowl which was HUGE. Â I can't imagine anyone getting the large size because the portions are enormous. Â Very good meal. Â Generous portions. Â Very good service. Â Would highly recommend.
Review Source:A taste of South Federal with the convenience of SouthGlenn--who could ask for more? Pho 95 has quickly become our go-to Vietnamese spot in South Denver.
They have great appetizers. Of course, the shrimp and pork eggrolls are good. The Vietnamese eggrolls with veggies and noodles are better, and are a bigger portion. And if you're really hungry, or just want to only eat appetizers, you have to give the Do noung cuon banh trang a try. You can find that as #12A on the menu. It's basically a little bit of everything (including softshell crab) in do-it-yourself rice paper wraps. Really good.
For mains, I am partial to vermicelli bowls, and the grilled pork with eggroll bowl is my favorite. Pho is really good too, of course. We especially like the rare steak (tai) pho.
By the way, portions here are pretty large, so even if you come hungry, you'll still probably end up with leftovers!
Great happy hour ($2 beers if I remember correctly) and excellent service -- which is why I'm giving Pho 95 4 stars. I've been here multiple times and have enjoyed the pho, although this pho seems more suburban (as in appealing to the suburban Soccer Moms) than more "authentic" pho places on Federal Boulevard. It's just a feeling I get - and taste - compared to other pho places I've been to in my life.
Not to say I don't recommend this place, because I do, it's just that I like tendon, tripe, and all the other "messy" pho ingredients, and this place feels a little sanitized, but that's probably because it resides at The Streets of South Glenn. A good place to get some good pho in a good location --- which is more than I can say about some places on Federal Boulevard. Although, I don't go to Federal for the ambiance...
LOVE it- - Great noodle bowls, the best Pho around, and super friendly service. Â Nothing to complain about except that it is a little tough to find a parking spot, and the restaurant is usually pretty crowded so getting in and out - navigating is a bit tricky, especially with a baby.
Review Source:My absolute favorite Pho!!!! My husband and I initially went to this restaurant because  we live close and it was convenient before going to see a movie. I fell in love with it! It has a nice urban atmosphere and is almost always busy (I think this speaks for how good the food is). My first time there I tried a Tokyo Tea, a clear version of a Long Island....Good but potent. Now when I go I stick with a Vodka cranberry if it is that kind of day.
I eat 80-90% Gluten Free, by choice not an allergy, so being able to indulge in a giant bowl of rice noodles is a great food fix for me. I discovered 8B on their menu and I rarely stray from that because I like it so much. Grilled pork rice noodle bowl with egg rolls-YUM!!! The pork is tender and flavorful every time and the egg rolls offer the perfect crunch. Their fish sauce is by far what keeps me coming back. I have been to many other Pho places when the mood strikes me and I see one that is convenient, but none compare to Pho 95. So much so that I have stopped trying other places if I am really craving Pho because I am typically disappointed to the point that I end up going to Pho 95 within a few days to get my "Pho fix" My husband loves the soup but after trying my noodle bowl often alternates between soup and noodle bowls every other visit. The noodle bowl is so big that I always bring some home and it tastes great even heated up.
We bring my 8 year old twin boys here and they love to be able to look at the fish tank while we are waiting for our food. They have plenty of variety on the kid's menu and my boys like the food so it is a win/win. We love this place so much that we order it for take out when we don't have time to sit in the restaurant. Thank you for bringing your fabulous food to our neighborhood!
After hearing endless praise from my co-worker I finally met up with a couple friends for lunch here. Â We went on a Saturday about 12:30 (prime time as they were very busy). Â The Vietnamese spring rolls were delicious and the fish sauce for dipping was great. Â I had the chicken pho in a small size which was a huge portion - yay leftovers! Â Really enjoyed this meal. Â I would give more stars if the service had been better. Â It took about 10 minutes after the food was delivered to get someone to stop to ask for utensils (this girl can't rock the chop sticks, oh well!). Â My friend asked for a refill on her drink and the wait was longer than I'd expect anywhere. Â I will discount the lack of service to the busy restaurant and possible lack of staff. Â Overall, YUM and I'd go back. Â Don't fear the Sriracha sauce either, spice up your pho!
Review Source:I thoroughly enjoyed dining at Pho 95. The decor has more of an upscale feel than the majority of Pho joints in the area and the food itself is very tasty..
I had the tofu pho with veggies and white meat chicken. The vegetable broth was a little on the greasy side and didn't come out as hot as I'd prefer, but it certainly had a punch of flavor! Â The tofu seemed to be fried or breaded..whatever they did, it was delicious. Â
I sprinkled the massive plate of sprouts into my dish right away and let the flavors co-mingle as we ate. Â There's nothing like fresh bean sprouts tenderized by piping hot broth. Mmmmm!
We heard good things and thought we would give this place a try. What we got was indifferent service. Hard, old pork tasting meatball pho with weak broth. My wife had a noodle bowl with overly salty shrimp. She commented that she feels like she just ate a salt block. Add to all that dirty bathrooms. There's a great pho place just down the road. I can't believe people settle for this sub par offering.
Review Source:I LOVE having an authentic pho restaurant down in this area. Â For real, the other places have disappointed me and I have only had good experiences here so far. Â Fast and friendly wait service... and awesome portions. Â It is also roomy so you don't feel cramped in there... and I can actually leave this place without the smell of all the foods stinking up my clothes and hair. Â Will definitely be back again. Â My favorite Pho place in the southwest.
I have had many different pho bowls... their spring rolls are good and fresh... and their fried bananas is delicious and not too battery. Â Have yet to try their boba. =D
For those looking for great Vietnamese in the south suburbs of Denver, look no further! Â Pho 95 may just have the best pho I've ever had. Â I ordered the pho with beef brisket, pretty much the standard for an American pho/Vietnamese restaurant, and I was really, really impressed with how it turned out. Â Not only was the plate of accoutrements piled high with sprouts, basil, cilantro, limes and jalapenos, the soup itself was positively loaded with beef and noodles. Â There was none of this all broth funny business, the medium-sized bowl felt like it had as much ingredients as you'd expect from the large. Â
And oh my was it tasty.  The broth itself was perfection: it was rich without being cloying and it had such a light oiliness to it that brought out the flavor you expect without it feeling like greasy spoon pho.  The noodles were pleasantly firm but not hard and the beef was quite tasty and not gristly in the least.  The accoutrements were all obviously fresh and the taste followed the appearance.  Overall each component combined to form an incredibly delicious dish that I will definitely return for.  Oh yeah, and don't forget the quick, polite service, clean space, and pleasantly subdued décor.  Pho 95 is a gem hidden in the heart of a megamall, a bright jewel amidst gravelly franchise debris.  That soup is worth every penny, and it doesn't even cost all that many pennies to begin with, so get going already!
I could definitely live without this place. Pho broth was bland and overly salted. Rare and flank steak tasted the same: chewy and flavorless. Even my cousin pointed out that the smell wasn't the best and that the broth was too clear. Overall, not good pho!
My cousins however did have the seafood pho ap chao (sauteed pho) and the ribs rice plate. Both of them noted that they really liked the food, although the ribs was on the sweet side. So if you're already here, I'd try ordering something else besides their namesake!
Delicious pho for sure! I especially enjoy how the pho comes with large amounts of sprouts, basil, and other greens. Â Customer service is amazing - all of the waitstaff is so happy. Â We even went to dinner there at 9 pm (when they close at 9:30 pm) and we thought for sure that they might be a little grumpy that we were coming so late to closing time. But they were so friendly and so nice to us.
The only downside was we ordered a vermicelli dish as well as pho. Â The vermicelli was average and the fish sauce was less than stellar. So if you go, stick to the pho!
The staff is pretty nice And the menu is huge. Like super huge. It was good to see a good mix of things on the menu. It was pretty good food too. Seated fast was nice even though they were packed to the gills. I got a noodle bowl with a little egg roll. The meat was good the noodles were plentiful. The sauce it came with was perfect for the dish and it was a very good egg roll given how not too good I find them normally.
The only thing that killed it was that we order some drinks and by the time we were done there were still not drinks. Right before saying something/ paying they came out. I guess a sweet treat before a movie isn't too bad of a thing but having them with dinner would have been best. The super tight seating at a busy time was kind of odd. Don't get me wrong I like people. But I don't like them touching me while I eat.
But over all given the area of town it's a good little spot.
So, I've been their original Denver location once and eaten at the Southglenn location too many times to remember. Compared to other Pho places, each one has their strengths weaknesses. This review is for the Pho. When I order it, I got to have the tendon and tripe too.
The best part is the meat. It almost borderlines on having too much meat. Just kidding, there is no such thing! The broth is excellent with great balance on the spices. What really separated Pho 95 from the other places is the clarity and the lighter color of the broth. It is just looks like a sexier bowl of Pho than some of the darker cloudy variations the other places serve up. The noodles aren't overcooked, comes with dandelion in addition to the jalapeno, lime, basil and bean sprouts. The tendon still has some chew without falling apart but the tripe could use some work. It's still tough and chewy and wasn't cut thoroughly.
Comes in two sizes if you're just stopping in. The regular is slightly smaller than the medium at Pho 79, but can't compare to the amount of meat you get. Very reasonably priced and they have a liquor license. So you can get some cocktails as well, which isn't possible at the other Pho places near by. I'd give this a 4.5, if I could.
Check out my review of Pho 79 and 1,2,3,Pho for a comparison.
Hands down the best Pho I have had in the Denver area. Â They also have excellent noodle bowls, and Boba drinks (Mango = yummy!).
Great place to meet a friend, or take a date, and yet somehow even kid friendly. Â I've brought all three kiddos and have had a drama free yummy meal. Â They have kid meals but are flexible (one of mine loves seafood but it wasn't on the menu, but they made him a seafood pho bowl). Â They have a fish tank to entertain kids, and lollipops at the counter. Â
Wait service is a group effort, but there is always somewhere there when you need them. Â This will be the place I go to every time I'm hungry for Pho!
This place has the best Pho I've had outside of little Vietnam in California. Awesome portions and the food is just flat out good. They also have a pretty amazing veggie broth that I'd never had before.
If you're in the south suburbans and going to other Pho places, stop wasting your time and go here instead. It makes everything else look substandard.
Edit: They now have Banh Mi, not sure how new it is but it's not actually on the menu. Great sandwiches on the cheap!
I'm no expert on Vietnamese, but I know what I like. Â And I like other pho restaurants better.
I tried the marinated steak pho, expecting robust flavor. Â Instead, the bright, meaty and slightly sweet broth that I was expecting did not materialize. Â The flavor just wasn't as good as my favorite pho place in Aurora. Â And I quite missed having cilantro to throw into the broth. Â
On the other hand, my husband's pork noodle bowl had great barbecued pork. Â I really liked the smoky flavor. Â He, on the other hand, was not impressed. Â And for some reason, he was disappointed with the noodles. Â They were more along the egg-noodle variety instead of the flat, vermicelli-style that he likes in his pork bowls. Â I thought that this might have been a bit picky, but he sniffed, "I'm Chinese. Â I have a right to be particular about my noodles." Â Fair 'nuff.
Guess we'll stick with our Aurora pho restaurants.
Addendum: there are some neat pictures in the back of the restaurant that highlight the "Pho King" challenge. Â If you can eat a ginormous bowl of pho, you get your name and picture up on the wall (and a snazzy T-shirt to boot). Â Fail the challenge, and you get a pink T-shirt with "I'm a Pho King loser" on it. Â Love it!!! XD
This place is really fantastic. I have been here twice, once on a slow Thursday afternoon, and again the following Monday at lunch time when it was packed.
I read fellow Yelp reviews, and couldn't wait to try this place - as expected - it was great! I love it so much Thursday I had to go back as fast as I could! Both times, I got the chicken pho. As someone else said, the broth is slightly sweet, but it can easily be altered with the variety of condiments they provide. Portions are huge, even when I was starving, a small was more than enough for me. They are also competitively priced and even when they're slammed at lunch time, they are quick and easy to get in and out. I work about 15 minutes from here and I can easily drive there, get served, and drive back in my allotted lunch hour, and for ~$7 for lunch (+tip), the price is great.
Love this place and can't wait to go back!
Not as good as the original on Federal but still the best in the area.
A few differences would be the service, not as attentive and one of our waiters argued with my husband about what I ordered when I went to the restroom insisting that I was ok with fish sauce (I wasn't) and brought it by anyway. That aside, my noodle bowl had fewer veggies, smaller veggie cuts, fewer types of veggies than the Federal location served. They also didn't have a good replacement for the fish sauce served with the noodle bowl (hence the weird interaction) and just gave me soy sauce vs Federal- they gave me the veg broth from the veggie pho.
That said, we'll return. It was still tasty, hot, and fresh. I'll just pop into the OG location from time to time to get the full experience.
Is there much of a point writing a review of this place? Eh, not really. Everyone knows that Pho 95 is good, and this one is just as good as the Federal location.
Good food. Plenty of parking in the area (between the shopping mall and department stores. Parking is better here than at the Federal location). Good service.
Nuff said.
Pho 95 is my new favorite pho restaurant. The service is great. Â The food is awesome. Specifically, we get the Vietnamese egg rolls rock. Â They do NOT skimp on the pho. Â A small is filling. Â I highly recommend this restaurant. Â
P.S. Â Try and get there early during the lunch hour and on Friday evenings as they are packed.
I loved Pho 95!!!!!!
Even though it's out of the way, and a little bit pricier than pho in Aurora, it is SO worth it :)
Their eggrolls, spring rolls, Pho Chao (veggie +tofu in veggie broth), and the combination pho my mommy got = all delicious. I left feeling full and satisfied and tired.. the way it should be.
I'm a huge fan of their Federal Blvd restaurant, so decided to visit their new location today for a late lunch. The food was fabulous, as expected (I had the tofu pho with vegetable broth since I'm a vegan). Never a complaint there. But the service was ridiculously slow. The waiters were too busy playing with their cell phones while I was waiting to pay and have my leftovers put in a box. And I had to ASK for a water refill after waiting for 10 minutes with an empty glass.
I wasn't crazy about the atmosphere either. It looked like a cookie cutter restaurant and could have just as easily been Appleby's or Chili's.
I much prefer the Federal location and that's where I'll go for pho. And never to their Southglenn location.
I think this is the best Pho I have had on the south end of the metro area. Â If you are not willing to drive all the way to the Pho places on Federal, then this is a solid choice. Â The marinated steak offering here is pretty unique. Â Basically, it is a tender beef offering with a big tangy kick. The broth has great depth of flavor, the veggies are fresh, and they do not overcook the noodles. Â I found the portions to be generous (the mound of vegetation accompanying your soup is immense), although the prices are slightly higher than what you will pay on Federal.
If this is the only place you plan on going to, then the parking may be very frustrating. Â It would be hard to get a quick "in and out" here.
Really, Denver Area? Your highest rated Vietnamese restaurant is THIS place? I hope to God I am wrong on this, but it tastes like you use chicken broth for both pho bo (beef) and pho ga (chicken)!! If this is true, then it's pure and utter blasphemy. If I'm wrong, someone please punch me in the face for falsely accusing. Everyone who knows pho knows that the broth is EVERYTHING. Pho 95's broth just doesn't cut it. It doesn't taste right. I don't want to taste chicken in my pho bo. Such a disappointment...
Goi cuon was a little on the soft and chewy side. Permissable.
The dipping sauce was seriously made out of peanut butter. Not permissable! It tasted like I was dipping my food in a jar of Jiffy. Yuck!
Here's something that Pho 95 did do right: lots and lots of fresh garnishes for my pho. But sorry, dude. A buttload of fresh mint leaves and bean sprouts is not gonna make me change my mind about your broth.
