We dined at Shanahan's on a Friday night with a helpful reservation from OpenTable. Â I do recommend having a reservation, as the entire bar and restaurant area was filled with swanky folks eating and drinking very well. Â
Every part of our evening was flawless, from the polite and friendly hostess who checked our coats and showed us to a lovely table, to the valet having our car ready before we had our coats back on. Â The staff at all positions in this establishment are clearly well trained and make every effort to provide excellent service to all their guests.
The menu has something tasty for everyone's palette and the wine list is more of a wine book! Â (If you can't find your fave vino in there, it probably comes by the box.)
We had the crab appetizer (big, delicious chunks of crab with delectable dipping sauces) and were served warm, crusty bread and butter as soon as our waters arrived. Â
The BF ordered a bone-in rib eye that he thoroughly enjoyed, saying, "This is the BEST steak I've ever had!" Â He was more upset that he couldn't finish it all because it was cooked and seasoned perfectly.
I ordered the scallops which were absolutely the best, most flavorful seared to perfection scallops I've ever had the pleasure of consuming. Â The side dishes were served in searing hot dishes to keep them warm throughout the meal.
We split the brownie dessert with marshmallow ice cream and that, too, was delightful! Â Choc-tastic, warm brownie with melty marshmallow goodness. Â MMM. Â I enjoyed my dessert with the flight of ports (each distinct and delicious).
Our waitress was Keelan and she is a professional. Â She checked on us often and was efficient, always happy to recommend and clearly had a complete knowledge of the menus.
This was our first visit and we cannot wait to return. Â This place gets it!
After dining at the Duke of Denver's steakhouse for Denver Restaurant Week two years ago, I decided it was time to take a turn at the steakhouse of Denver's other Bronco Super Bowl Champion. While Elway's does have perhaps the best New York Strip in the Mile High City, I was completely blown away by the filet at Shanahan's. Those replica Vince Lombardi trophies in the entry area offer you foreshadowing of how good the Shanahan's experience is. This place is World Champion is every aspect. When you consider the dead center DTC location and see how expansive their wine room is, you quickly realize that this is definitely a place where the corporate card gets used very freely. Even for Restaurant Week, the final damage for two was close to a c-note with two glasses of wine and tip included; however, it is definitely worth the price. The filet was cooked absolutely perfectly-a nice warm red center with pink on the edges. The cabernet sauce had a very nice, but not overpowering, peppery flavor and came out sizzling on the plate. That worked out really well for keeping the garlic mashed potatoes, which were the best I have ever eaten, nice and warm. The asparagus had a balsamic sauce and was wonderfully prepared. For dessert, we had an outstanding espresso chocolate mousse with raspberries. Incredible. The mixed field green salad was satisfactory and would be the closest thing Shanahan's has to not being perfection. Too many diced cucumbers for my liking. The service was fantastic and the hospitality of the staff shows that they have been trained by the best to make sure the customer has an unforgettable experience. Overall, Shanny's did not disappoint. This is a clear cut five star dining experience.
Review Source:As advertised.
As expected, Shanahan's was outstanding. Â Our table of three ate in the bar area with everyone enjoying the bone-in ribeye and assorted sides.
The service was friendly and well paced, the food was cooked expertly and served piping hot.
I'll be looking forward to visiting Shanahan's again as long as I can get someone else to pick up the tab.
