Ya Ya's

Second time at Ya Ya's, first time was better than this time.  Went with my friend for the Restaurant Week 5280 special.  First of all the place is very nice inside and I hear the patio is a great place in the summer. The menu for RW was nice although for a vegetarian ( my friend)  the options were limited at best. There was not a big crowd, maybe a bit over half full and being that is was so, I was very surprised at how slow the service was. It took 10 minutes or more to receive the appetizers and a good 20+ minute wait between appetizer and main course. There was enough wait staff, so maybe some of the cooks did not show up.  My chicken was a bit dry even though the plate was half full of liquid that was primarily watery chicken juice. It added nothing to the dish and it would have been better without this and a bit more moisture in the actual chicken and less having the crispy potatoes sitting in water. My friends grilled veggies were nothing special and really quite bland. Then it was an additional 10 minutes until dessert arrived. Total time for dinner was a few minutes short of 2 hours. A disappointment to be sure, both in food and service..  Maybe Sunday night is an off night......remind me not to go back on a Sunday.
