Saw a couple here a few years back getting all lovey dovey and then things got serious. The chick said something to the guy, and he got so pissed he hurled something at the wall, and said, "ARE YOU SERIOUS, PAM?!" -- and then the dude walked out with who I think was his brother. The girl then said, "We're done." Anyway, I think the dude's name was Roy. I thought the owner was gonna call the cops on Roy and his brother, but apparently, they agreed to pay the bar owner with money they were going to spend on scuba gear or something. It was insane. Later, as I was leaving the bar, I saw this Roy character with his brother and he was saying something like how he was gonna kill a guy named Jim. Scary shit. Great entertainment.

I stopped here on the way back back from Pismo Beach, on the way back to Huntington Beach to meet a friend.  Pickwick is a good stopping point after leaving Pismo Beach about 2:30, driving 2 1/2 hours and taking a break instead of crawling through the 101 & 405 traffic during rush hour.  This place is off the De Soto exit on the 101 and then make a right on Ventura Blvd.

Pickwick is a Brit Bar.  They have Newcastle, Harp and Guiness to drink, and Bangers & Mash, Fish and Chips and other Brit food to eat.  Plus there are quite a few Brits who seemed to be regulars.  We ordered Harp and Stella - $4 during HH.  The only downside was this place was a sausage fest.  There were only two women that were worth looking at besides Jo the bartender:  4 Stars on ambiance.  Jo the bartender is hawt (and she has a hawt accent!).  But nobody messes with her despite her being the only person tending bar and serving others from before 5 until 6:  5 Stars on service.  My friend and I were not that hungry so we only ordered hot wings - $5 during HH.  The wings were pretty good.  They were meaty, the chicken was moist but there was not that much heat:  4 Stars.

The next time I am too tired to sit through traffic on the 101 & 405 interchange, I would definitely return to Pickwick to throw a few back and have an appetizer.  If you are more hungry, there are several places to eat like My Brothers Bar-B-Q, or other ones that you can walk to across the street (Persian, Indian, Thai and Pizza).

This place is great!!!  sometimes you forget about the classic Valley staples but this is a great neighborhood bar, and an even better places to hang out.  They had a great live music.  I went there to see a friend's band play and I was very impressed with the beer selection on tap.  The staff was very attentive, fun and hot!!

The first time I went here, I was a little skeptical... It's pretty small, I drove past it a couple times before finding it. Also, you have to street park.

The place is laidback with tvs - perfect to watch football! The bartenders are friendly and the chicken pot pie is DELICIOUS. Also - the other food is good, too - the Shepard's Pie!

I will definitely check out their trivia night soon and update.

It's always a good time getting drunk and losing at trivia and/or darts here, then making some questionable life choices afterwards. I like it because it is a normal, unassuming place, where, if I get drunk, I can walk home. If you live too far away though, I wouldn't recommend walking home, ya turkey! So maybe don't get drunk? Unless you have another ride home, in which case, CHEERS! Pip pip. Cheerio. Jolly good.

I needed a drink. Be it long or short, after any kind of relationship ends, the warm embrace of alcohol will always be there to catch me when I fall.

After scarfing down the salty/garlicky goodness of a brat from Brats Bros down the street, i was craving some comfort food. Something with gravy. I also needed a beer to nurse me back to emotional health. As I cruised down the streets of Ventura, I thought to myself if people still do that - cruise down the streets. Every other block was  a menagerie of restaurants, boutiques and family owned businesses. Magazine stands and liquor stores made me wonder, "these things still exist?" Go down far enough and even the health stores became boutique - Whole Foods and Trader Joes.

Back in the part of town I grew up, I spotted the familiar signs of Pickwick Pub. In that flash of an instant, my mind was made up. This was my stop. I found some parking on the street - free after 8 pm. I wish everything was free after 8.

I walked through the familiar front door and smiled at the familiar faces. This was like another home. Everything feels familiar and comfortable in here, but you don't know exactly why. Almost like deja vu, the ambience has an unknown familiarity that is as comforting as it is confusing. It was just big enough to not be a hole in a wall, but still small enough to be quaint.

For me, familiarity helps make the favorite. My favorite brew of all time, Boddington's, is on tap here and for a decent price. Make me happy without having to spend a lot of money? It will become my ironic voice. Like how when you learn how to reload your own ammo, you end up spending more because you trick yourself into saving money from being factory rounds.

The waitress smiled and I asked her for a menu. Everything from curry , to fish and chips and pickwick's pie. Is there anything better than beef and potatoes in gravy? Seriously, gravy should be worth more per gallon than gasoline, milk, clean water and lotion combined. If I were God, heaven would be filled with fountains of hot gravy, next to plates of never ending food to use for dipping. Cherubs would pour different kinds of gravy from their pots. The clouds would just be fluffy, truffled mashed potatoes for me to make into gravy boats.

Most people would be apprehensive about eating and drinking in a bar by themselves. Maybe they don't like to be judged. But I didn't have the time nor the energy to worry about what people thought of me, nor explain myself.

But to my luck, I came here on a Wednesday night. The night before the day of Thor ended up being Trivia night. How could I have forgotten?

A group of acquaintances strolled in at the right time. The place was packed and my table was empty. Well except for my sorrows of course. I invited them over and they invited me to their trivia team.

I smiled and was extremely grateful for this stroke of luck. I don't believe in luck or chance, so maybe this random opportunity was coincidental?  Regardless, for the rest of the night, i wouldn't have to worry about my relationship problems. I only had to worry about a clever team name.

"My drinking team has a trivia problem?" no.
    "Drinks on Danny?" no.
for a good time, call my ex and then put her number down as my team name. clever, but no.

i just hoped we won the drinking round so I could have a free shot.

This place is awesome.  Its a nice small bar/pub that no one would ever notice unless you were told about it.  There is plenty of seating (for its size) and they dont play music loud so you have to yell at people to talk.  Its a nice pleace to grab drinks and chill and talk.  Be sure to try their food too.  Their chicken pot pie is amazing!

There is street parking in addition to teh parking in the rear.  Go there and be ready for a nice surprise.

    It's time for an update.

I've been coming regularly for over a year now and I still love Pickwicks as much as I loved it the first time I came here. I still come here with my #1 bitch and sometimes we will bring others, but it's usually just the two of us sitting at the bar complaining about life and getting old.

A pitcher of Blue Moon and a basket of fries. That's my poison. Nothing more, nothing less.

I have to say though, I go on the nights that Chris is bartending. He lets me slam on the bar and call him BARKEEP without getting mad at me. Any bartender that'll let me harass him AND still give me great service is the best in my book. LOVE him for it.

Pickwicks, you're the best. Don't ever change.

It was Sunday night which meant date night with the boyfriend. We were in the mood to get some beers... Surprise surprise. Lol.

We stopped at McG's and they didn't have the cider that he wanted (he's a total beer snob). So, we left. We then decided to go check out Dublin's and they were CLOSED?! WTH?! A bar closed on a Sunday night?

Anyways, my boyfriend suggested Pickwick. I had never been here before so I figured what the hell. I'm glad we did. It was a relatively slow night. There was maybe 10 people in there the whole time that we were there. The bartender was super nice and helpful. She made the drinks strong.

For someone who only planned on having a couple beers... I had a cider (don't remember what kind but it was delish), a peach moon, a Jameson and ginger ale, a Jack and coke and last but not least... an Adios Motherf*cker. The boyfriend had a couple beers (cider) since he was driving. Lol.

So, now my ass is buzzed and we decide we wanted to play darts. I suck at darts when I'm sober and now being quite inebriated at this point... I hit the damn wall more than that dart board. Lol. They have one dart board in the main room then they also have a separate room that has 2 dart boards a small table and some stools. The dart board in the main room was occupado, so we took over the "dart room".

Long story short... I got my ass beat at a game of darts. Didn't really care though... I was drunk. The reason this place doesn't get 5 stars is because it seems that their drinks are more expensive than other places I've been. The drinks definitely weren't watered down so I give them 4.5 stars in total.

CELEB UPDATE: Bruno Mars used to perform here before... well, before he blew up!

So I first heard about this about 5+ years ago when I started CSUN. I remember a few of my friends (especially Cyro W.) talked about this place, McGee's, White Heart, Fox & Hounds as some good ol' Irish pubs. However I never came until my friend Daniel B. started hosting trivia night last year. I came about 6 months ago, didn't like it, then came about 3 months ago with my roommate, didnt like it... then about 2 months ago a bunch of my friends started coming regularily so that drew me in.

    ---------------
    LOCATION
    ---------------

Woodland Hills... on Ventura past De Soto. Near Paoli's. Pretty small pub, small bar seating, a few tables and couches, another small room for darts or ______ in the back.

    -----------------
    THOUGHTS
    -----------------

It's a really, REALLY small bar. I've come twice on non-Weds days and didn't like it. Been about 7-8 Weds. for TRIVIA NIGHT. Honestly the only reason I come is because I usually have about 8-15 friends who show up to support the trivia host whose a friend of hours.

We never really meet anyone new cause the age's are usually older people (40-60), some people in their 20's, and a few kids. (I guess since it's a pub / restaurant kids are allowed) I've seen a few young teens with their parent/s.

The drinks are pretty decent. The blonde bartender is pretty nice, very understanding and works her ass off serving EVERYONE. They have food too but I've never tried it though I'll probably swing by next week to try their "CUBANO" sandwich cause I love Cuban sandwiches and saw it on the blackboard for $8.00 which almost seduced me last week.

EDIT: In addition to "the Cubano", I've added "the PIZZA STEAK SANDWICH" and their Chili Cheese Fries to my "need to try" list.

    ------------------
    IN CLOSING
    ------------------

If my friends didn't come I probably wouldn't either. It's become a fun spot to kill 2-3 hours on Weds nights drinking with my friends... paying little or no attention to trivia and just socializing and having a good time. I do love the TRIVIA competitions though (relay race, spinning golf club putter challenge, etc.)

    ------
    P.S.
    ------

This place NEVER lets me check in on YELP, I have no idea why. I've tried about 6-7 times now and always get the "NOPE" message even though I'll have friends sitting at my table checking in. This place's Yelp page is waicist!!! Just kidding, sorta...

I'm here almost every Wednesday for their King Trivia which is a lot of fun. Most of the time it's not an issue getting seats however I think it's necessary getting there at least by 7:50 just in case people are there from out of town (this does happen).

The beers are cheap and they have a decent selection on tap. I haven't tried all their food but we've had chicken strips and fries and they didn't go wrong with those- pretty satisfying. I see people constantly ordering off the food menu and getting burgers and sandwiches so they must be doing something right.

I would definitely come here on a regular night too as the atmosphere is enjoyable. Plus they're pro-Packers-  WIN!

The employees are all pretty great except for one whom I've only seen once- a girl who must've been having a bad night and tried to stand there and hustle us for meeting her 2-drink minimum policy that no one else has ever tried to use on us there. If I feel like having 2 drinks I will.... if i want to have 4 I will... if you tell me I need to meet a minimum just to play your trivia game that bars all over the valley also offer- I will laugh.

I'll be back. Haven't had that girl help us again so it's not really an issue  :)

Like Packers games? British food? Fun?

If you answered, "Yes," to any of these questions, I'm confident Pickwick's is the place for you. I had an outstanding experience there for the Saturday night playoffs game. The staff, quality and ambiance had a lot to do with that - not just the Packers' rout of the Minnesota Vikings.

Best of all, it began like a nightmare scenario: Arriving with a party of four intent on watching the game and finding the pub packed half-an-hour in advance. The staff didn't so much as break a sweat though - just grabbed the owner without prompting. He apologetically offered us a private room.

He had nothing to be sorry for: The room was cozy, the TV was top-notch and my sole concern - that service would fail to dependably appear - proved unfounded. Servers would peek in every so often, unobtrusive but always on hand. Our four-hour night was a dream.

During halftime, they ran a raffle. My step-daughter won a T-shirt. The food that followed was a victory for all. Even the chicken bruschetta was pretty darn good.

All in all, don't expect a gourmet foodie experience out of Pickwick's, but feel free to expect some of the best service I've ever enjoyed. The spirits are high, the staff is friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere is like being a guest at a best pal's home.

I really like this place.  As far as Valley establishments go, it's a staple for West Valley fans of good drink and merriment.  There're few places on Ventura in that area open at night.  And of the one that are, most of them suck.  Pickwick's is the exception.  The drinks are cheap.  If you like live music, they have that on weekends, too.

Last time I went we tried the appetizer sampler.  Not too shabby.  The fried mushrooms were the best.  Yum!

So I came here a few uses back and decided after a bad week I need to go somewhere. I came back on a chill Thursday night.  Music is nice and people are friendly. The bartenders are cool too. I always seem to have good convo with good looking guys there. Maybe I chose good nights but I have to say I've been impressed. I'm kinda picky too but I've always met cool people.

A couple coworkers and I came here for one of my coworker's 21st birthday party. And I must say, this is one of the best pub's I've ever been to. They offer free darts and free beer pong tables and cups (not red solo cups, but you can't have everything). All you have to do is buy the beer and have a great time. They had some hilarious comedians in there, and the servers and bartenders were very fast and very good. We got our own separate 'game room' which is separate from the rest of the pub, and the waitresses came in and checked on us regularly to offer us refills if we needed. I'm definitely coming back with more friends next time.

I've gone here a few times for trivia and generally enjoy my experience.

The servers are pretty attentive given the  customer/staff ratio. I'd say most of the dishes are quite good and filling: chicken pot pie, pot roast, bangers/mash, curry chicken.

The chicken tikka masala is a bit of a miss for me. It's more tangy rather than creamy. You may enjoy that style more than me.

Note to manager: please provide us with darts!  I'll leave you with my ID or credit card as collateral.

Other than that, this place is a pretty straightforward dive bar.  Drinks are strong, crowd seems to vary in age.

I just finished riding my moto a 1400+ miles in the last three days. Out started out to be a trip through Yosemite and then over the Sierras towards NV.  It turned out to be a ride through a "freak" snowstorm over Tioga Pass. Only to be followed by hours of thunderstorms the next day.

My annual summer motorcycle trip just want living up to my well laid out plans.

But on day two, once I got to Death Valley things started to look cheery.  On my way to the coast.

After playing on on twisties of the Santa Monica Mountains and hanging with like folks at the Rock Store all good was once again restored.  But I still had to get my favorite travel food.  Fish and Chips

I found myself at the Pickwick on Monday night, Memorial Day.  I got parking right in front so I was stoked. There were some locals hanging out in front and inside they had some trivia game night taking place.  I had no interest in joining in on the "fun".  I just wanted some Fish and Chips.

The sweet waitress took my order and brought me my meal soon after.  It was good. Not amazing. Yet it satisfied my need for fish and chips and a side of onion rings.

This place is more of a pub then a restaurant. There are several larger tables and several plasma televisions. And of course a bar.

It's also located on a busy, noisy street. Parking can be difficult.  I can't say that I would ever go back since I live in San Francisco. But if I was a local...maybe.

I picked up a delicious lunch of fish 'n chips for an elderly friend from Birmingham who resides at the Motion Picture Home.  He loved it, and said 'it's the best damned fish I've ever had!'.

Great to see the smile on his face.  I heard that Pickwicks had the best, and now it's been confirmed.

Great pint of Guinness while I waited for the order, and the lady that served me couldn't be cuter or friendlier!  I'll be coming back!

Very laid back and fun pub to hang out with the crew.  Great service, live music on weekends, good food and plenty of parking on the street.  We usually will get the boys together and have some fun and drinks while we catch up on stuff.

They have a heated patio in front with plenty of seats so its nice all year round.

I was looking for fish and chips in the Valley and Pickwick Pub came as a recommendation.  I wasn't disappointed.

The pub was moderately busy for a Wednesday night.  I got a seat at the bar and was immediately served by a friendly bartender.  The Newcastle on tap was a great surprise.

The service was great as the bartenders made sure that my glass was never empty.  They made conversation (as much as they could when they were not serving other customers).  The food took a little longer than average to arrive, but not long enough for me to be concerned or complain.

The fish and chips were excellent.  Lots of fries were provided and the fish was fairly large.  I have a big appetite and after eating the fish and fries, I was satisfied.

I was a little surprised by the prices of the food ($13 for fish and chips), but the beer prices were typical ($5.00 for a Newcastle Brown Ale).  It wasn't inexpensive, but it didn't break my bank by any means.

Since I visited the restaurant on a Wednesday night, I witnessed the trivia contest.  Typically annoying background noise, the leader of the game made it interesting and fun.  Although I didn't play, I enjoyed listening to the questions and the friendly exchanges between all involved.

I'll definitely return to Pickwick Pub the next time I am in the mood for pub fare.  The atmosphere, food and service were certainly highlights of the visit.

    Upgraaaaaaade!!!
I have recently decided to UPGRADE :D my former review after I found out Pickwick's Pub has been playing the GREEN BAY PACKERS games since 1991!!! Every single game! I'm a true Pack fan and I went to Pickwick's with my Packers fan father last week. Needless to say, it was full of green and yellow Packers people who openly welcomed us in and cheered on the win the whole game through. Very fun atmosphere and a good place to meet fellow fans.

Also, at halftime, they raffle off Packers gear for free! What a fun bonus :D

If you're a true Packer fan and happen to live in LA, rather than Green Bay, you have heard of Pickwick Pub in Woodland Hills. This place is definitely a sanctuary for the most loyal of Packer fans. Every Sunday you will see a barrage of cheeseheads invade this English pub during the NFL season. Unfortunately, not everyone is a Title Town fan and LA offers a great variety of bars.

If you're looking for a massive, state-of-the-art, sports bar this is not the place for you. This place is great to see the Packers with Packer fans or good pub food. The price is very reasonable for the quality of food and quality. As I walked into mini-Lambeau it reminds me of the blue collar, American attitude the Packers are known for within an English pub.

Along the pubs walls you realize that the traditional pub setting is the forte. No glitz. No glam, just pure pub fun. The pub is rather small, so arrive early for Packer games. The seats along the wall get taken right away as they offer the best view to the 2 flat screen HD TV's and the projector. You also notice that there are JPL speakers peering over the tables, so you don't miss any intriguing soundbites shared during the game. The Packer experience there was like nothing else in LA.

I would have never come to this bar had it not been for the Packer fans lining up to get in. It thought it was only fitting I enjoy a bratwurst while watching an intense duel between the historic rivals. The brat was juicy and flavorful. I wish it was a little more toasty but it was not bad by any means. The sour kraut was fresh as the perfectly portioned amount of onions. The ingredient that perfectly completed this Packer traditional sausage was the perfectly spicy mustard. It added to the brat what Reggie White did in the last championship run by the Packers... Boldness and strength. Due to my workout regimen I did not have a beer what I would've paired it with a Stella Artois... The lightness of the ale would've performed nothing less than 2-point conversation when you're down by seven and it's sudden death.

Along with my brat I experimented with their beer battered mushrooms. These were simply as killer as a Clay Matthews tackle. The mushrooms were large, plump and fresh. Beer batter was surprisingly flavorful and did not leave the dreaded bad taste in my mouth of defeat like Elway did in the Packer's last Superbowl appearance. I do warn you that they are addicting and you can easily polish off the generous portion served in the always favorite red, diner basket and wax paper. These mushroom are a definite try.

Next time I watch the Pack play there I'd like to try the beer battered sausages, breakfast bangers or the Old British Burger. They offer curries at this pub, so if you truly want something British give this place a fly... You'll be tempted to watch a sporting event at the place down the street called Soups but don't! That place is awful, so look out for my, not so favorable Yelp on it.

Finally, if you're a Packer fan in LA, Pickwick is a MUST. If you love English pubs you might fancy a pub like this one. They also have a Manchester United jersey in the background, so if you're a UEFA fan, there you go. The reason I did not award it the coveted 5 stars is because they run quite slow on game days but it is nice to see that it is a family run joint. The friendly owner and daughter try their hardest to make your Packer fan experience at Pickwick Pub as enjoyable as possible! Oy!

Okay so I've come in a few times before and I think finally figured out the schedule (mainly due to the website)... So Wednesday is trivia night, and on Fridays and Saturdays at 9 they generally have a live band play. If you're looking to playing a game of darts or whatever make sure to get there early because when it gets really packed theres not going to be any room to play. They do have a happy hour and that ends at 7.

I've only gotten the food only once, but the fish and chips was pretty damn good. After I chowed down I noticed the couple next to us ordered the sample platter. The few pints I had already started to kick in by this point of time, and I was downright jealous of what that couple was chowing down on. I'm probably going to have to come back just to try it.

Going off nothing more than environment on a Wednesday night and a (weak) gin/tonic, I have to say I've been to better places! I am sure on a busy night this place could be fun however for a Wednesday, I would say travel elsewhere! Last call was made around 11pm, which was disappointing since it was MY Saturday and I thought I was at a PUB....
Seems to be a locals place, for sure...so if you are traveling through or to the valley during the week...keep movin.

A buddy and I frequent this place for happy hour or some after dinner drinks.  theres quite a few bars and pubs on this stretch to choose from but we seem to always end up in here.  and here is exactly why..

    1. Staff is very friendly and accomodating
    2. The regular crowd is laid back and cool
    3. Food is Damn good..  I recommend the sampler platter
    4. Prices are okay
    5. they have these "games" or live entertainment depending on the night.

This place is such a great neighborhood pub, its got that loungy feel to it while retaining the "pub" atmosphere.  I've had nothing but good experiences from this place!!

Honestly, this was the perfect kick off for my Thanksgiving holiday.  Pickwick Pub made me feel like I was already far away on vacation.

The pub crowd was loud and happy.  Every table seemed to have something setting on it - keys, glasses - put no one sitting at them.  Everyone crowds around the small wooden bar.

The barkeeps were nice and genuine.  A wide assortment of beer on tap is a huge plus.  They have some beers I've never seen on tap elsewhere - Harp, Boddington.  The place has a great pub vibe and was playing funky music from the 70's.

We shared fish-n-chips and some beer-battered mushrooms.  Both were excellent and abundant.

There was a soccer game on the telly and a dart board all lit up & ready to go.  It was an all around great pub to hang out in!

Only bummer - street parking only and the meters actually demand $ until 8:00 p.m.

It's a Sunday and one of my BFF's and I are bored.  We decide to meet at the pub.

It's Sunday Football (boo for us), but strangely, the crowd is chill and the beers a-flowing.  I order a bunch of food and you know -- it's all delicous and I am not even that drunk yet.    I had bbq chicken quesadillas which I would normally poo-poo -- but it was deeeelish.  When our bill came, we were blown away by the inexpensive price!

For Woodland Hills, it's adorable and in a nice spot with a nice group of folks that are chill and mellow.  Like that.

    Almost a real pub...

After traveling to England and Ireland, I'm a pretty tough critic but Pickwick's almost gets the pub "feel". They have all the standards on draft - Guiness, Harp, Boddington, Amstel. Dart boards are a must for a pub, and they have a few. The food can be pretty hit and miss, but the fish and chips are usually consistent.

The atmosphere varies quite a bit. Anywhere from the after work and "regulars" crowd to the 20's party crowd. It really depends on the night and the time. The limited live entertainment I've encountered has been mediocre at best, but the Guiness on draft more than makes up for it!

Tired of going to the same old places every weekend, I insisted we try someplace new. I felt like beer, so I looked up pubs, it was close by, and I've been a fan ever since.
The menu is interesting; the beer is good, and its fun. Seating can a little tough when its busy though. My favorite is the shepherds pie and fish and chips. I even had a grilled cheese once, really hit the spot. The burger was so so.
I never got to go to the old Pickwicks but I do like the new one!

I miss the old Pickwicks. I understand the temptation to turn your establishment into a British-themed T.G.I.Friday's after it's firebombed so you can once again turn a profit, but seriously, this place has seen better days.

Before it burned out back in 2005 my buddy and I would visit this place twice weekly for beers, darts, and fun. Before that I heard tale of the bar where my mother used to play darts in a league. The place had a lot of heart with it's loooong wooden tables, tiny bar space, back room with golden tee and foosball and Bob Cowsil crooning the hits on Friday nights.

Now it's mediocre at best. The beers cost too much, the waitresses are hot, but don't split the bills right and just do a poor job of keeping us in imbibables while we're there.

    Old Pickwicks - ****
    New Pcikwicks - **

I like Pickwicks.  The food here is really yummy (try the fish and chips), and they have a great selection of beers on tap to wash it down with.  The service is excellent, too.

I went here for trivia night, and my I just realized my friends and I aren't exactly, oh, how do you say, the sharpest tools in the shed.  Maybe the questions weren't geared towards our demo, but we should at least know Maya Angelou's real name, right?  Whatevs.

One of my fave characters from The Office was there too.  Thankfully, he didn't stay long enough to witness me and my team's annihilation.

Yes yes... So they've got Boddington's, Harp, Guiness, hell... they've even got Tetley's Ale on tap.    So they have a good selection of beers and the patrons are friendly and all, as is the staff.

Here's a thought:   TURN THE LIGHTS DOWN... WAY DOWN!  This is supposed to be a British pub, right?  Where's the puke on the sticky floor?   This place is way too bright and errr... I don't *want* to see the decor here, it looks way too much like some Denny's that's been remodeled to look like a British pub.  All I want is darkness and a cute waitress to serve pint after pint of Guiness.   Actually check that... they got the cute waitress.

Get an interior designer in here to make this place look like a real pub.  Right now it just doesn't give me the touchy feelies... We got a couple of pints and we quickly got the fuck out.   A proper pub should be so damn dark that it makes it damn near impossible to step outside unless you're stone cold sober.

Anyway, I won't languish on this thought... Yes, it's a semblance of a British pub, but the people who own this joint still have a long way to go to make t his place authentic.   Showing football (Soccer, not American football) on the telly just ain't enough.  And  you're serving British food, so it's not like you'll attract a client with your delicate cuisine, ok?

Some crazy fool burned the place down a few months ago. Now it's back and WAY better than before.

The little bar has been replaced with a much longer one running the side wall. The have added several ales on tap and of course they still have Guinness!
The pub grub got a lot better too. The Pickwick Pie is worth a try and the chips are nice, thick cut and very crispy!
Parking is still a bitch on Ventura during the dinner rush but later, after the restaurants empty out it's not to bad.

    Welcome back Pickwick!
