Thank you Groupon. Â Would never have found this tucked away little establishment in downtown Miami. On our last trip we were blown away by ceviche 105. Â So the choice to visit an alternate Peruvian establishment was unpopular with the rest of the family we decided to try it out. Â Can I say Ceviche 105 lite! But in the most complimentary sense. Â The place is modest but chic and the menu is less complex but very reasonably priced. Â Thy have only been open a couple of months and during the week cater primarily to the lunch crowd. Â Without a doubt every dinner item was great especially the Peruvian beef stew, the spicy ceviche ofcourse and the scallops appetizer. Also ask for additional spicy house green chili condiment. Â Excellent!
Review Source:Very good ceviche.
I've tried ceviche at many places around town and I'd have to rate this as one of the best.
My main ceviche place is Cvi Che 105, and this place offers ceviche that is just as good. Â Ceviche was fresh and fish was a good sized portion.
The neighborhood could use a little sprucing up, but overall, this is a great and less expensive option for ceviche in downtown Miami.
Would definitely return.
Visited yet again.... This time with all my children, who I must admit have a very limited yet diverse sense of pickiness..... The chef/owner Alex made it a point to find out exactly what would please my uber picky 11 year old daughter and succeeded!
Our server Lily made us feel like family as well as the rest of the crew! I am a loyal fan....
They are all so passionate about what they do that you don't feel like its a dining experience, but rather a get together at a close friends house.
I've put off writing a review for this place for months now because I like knowing a place before I give my opinion.
There are places that you go to for food, and there are places you go to because you like how you're treated; Pier 94, to me, is both!
I had walked by this place a few times in the past before it was opened, and was eager to see what this new "ceviche bar" was all about. As a longtime fan of Peruvian cuisine, and lover of ceviche, I absolutely had to try this place. Â Weeks went by, until one day I was greeted by a warm smile from a guy who introduced himself as Alex and welcomed me in. Great first impression of the business!
I looked over the menu and found some of my favorite dishes, making me feel comfortable at the fact that there was a real Peruvian behind the kitchen. An appetizer was brought to our group, a nice gesture to anyone who works around the area and is usually starving by lunchtime. We placed our order, and were approached by Alex, who told us more about the dishes we ordered. Couldn't believe the personal touch he added to our experience. It showed how passionate he was about the food and dishes he was creating.
The first bite of ceviche that I had was simply perfect. It was very well prepared, fresh, and had consistent flavor in every bite. Great first impression of the food!
Fast forward a couple of months. I am now a proud loyal customer of Pier 94, not just because it has great food, but because when I go in there, Alex and the rest of the staff continue to show the same passion for Peruvian cuisine that every good restaurant should have. It makes a difference to feel you're a valued customer, unlike the feeling I get when I go to the that trendy ceviche place in downtown (you know which place what I'm talking about).
The experience I had today made my day, and it's the reason that I'm writing my review.
Alex greeted me and asked me what I wanted. I've had so many great things here that I told him "Chef's choice" -- he laughed and proceeded to make an amazing new creation that made my tastebuds rejoice! The seafood tiradito/ceviche in a creamy yellow aji sauce I had (not in the menu) was the best lunch I've ever had there. Top that off with excellent service... how can you go wrong?
I recommend this place to everyone that's a fan of Peruvian cuisine, and of excellent service. Try it out if you haven't, and never be afraid to try something new here. You won't be disappointed!
Best wishes to Pier 94 for their upcoming 1 year anniversary! Hope you enjoy continued success. Glad to have you in the area.
Gross. Â
I ordered the steak and noodles, described as chinese or asian style noodles with veggies and steak. Â It was gross. Â The only kinda asian thing was the undercooked green onion and the overpowering soy sauce. Â The meat was extremely tough, to the point that I left a lot of it. Â And by a lot of it, I mean 3 out of the 6 pieces. Â The chinese noodles were mueller's pene...extremely overcooked. Â Like it had been sitting in the water for several minutes after it was taken off the heat. Â I can't even write a witty, coherent review....that is how bad it was.
I ordered delivery, which took over an hour. Â I didn't get the ceviche, because the idea of my fish not only marinating in lime, but also the 100 plus degree heat, was not appetizing. Â With that being said, the hour allowed my food to remain hot.
Lunch with co-workers.
Checked-in yelp app so we got a free Causa limena to share. They also gave us some peruvian dry corn and banana plantain chips to munch on. The causa limena was good but nothing too crazy about it.
For the entrees we ordered the lomo saltado (good portion but more onions than beef, also the fries were unfortunately very soft), the sudado de pescado (fish fillet with spices, but sort of bland) and the ceviche pier classic marinating fish in lime juice and spices (smallish portion).
Good easy lunch, not the best ceviche but good for $10. Location is special because you actually eat in a sort of tunnel. Open view on the kitchen so you can see the chef preparing the dishes.
Just like millions of foreign-born Americans I was fortunate to visit my hometown this year. Extremely excited and careless to experience any possible "half full or half empty glass" situations; rather I became anxious to drink the damn glass and enjoying it while at it!
Once there we found a diverse-vibrant metropolis, bursting with flawless hospitality, cutting-edge cuisine intertwined with traditional dishes and above all armed with fascinating world heritage. Needless to say an unparallel experience!!
Recharged now and back in my routine-life, I made a quick-stop during my lunch break in this modern looking place in downtown Miami. With no major expectations I order a couple of familiar looking apps and.......DAMN! Flashbacks on every bite! An explosion of flavors spiraled up my senses, bringing me back to my recent trip. Everything I had was meticulously authentic and crafted in a unique eye-catching manner that it was hard to stayed focus on one dish. Impatient to see the source of creation I approached the open kitchen in between courses and I saw how they flambé, line-up and assemble different dishes. Never thought to say this nor to write about it but the Gastronomic Capital of the Americas has an enclave in downtown Miami and it is called Pier 94!
BTW it was just impossible to return to work afterwards......
Very good seafood... Their portion is big and the seafood is fresh.
Yes. it's a little bit a walk from AAA, but I do recommend everyone to try it out. If you are going to the Heat game or in the area. Great service, wonderful food what else can you ask for.
Recommended dish: Fried mix seafood appetizer. "ask for the special spicy sauce"
Amazing dinner and our server was excellent. Â We started off with the fried plantain chips and dip they brought us as we read the menu. Â They were prepared unlike any plantains we had ever had and they were delicious. Â Next we had a ceviche appetizer, the classic I think; the fish was great, as was the sauce/milk. Â Next we had the Jalea Del Muelle and that was awesome. Â The waitress suggested we save our ceviche juice for dipping the Jalea Del Muelle seafood and it was a great idea, tasted great. Â Then I had the Pescado a la Chorrillana, it was very good, and the rice was excellent, but I think next time I will do more ceviche. Â It had more of a soy/asian taste, and I think I like the peruvian stylings better. Â My wife had the grilled tuna special with rissotto that she loved, I tried a piece myself and the tuna melted in my mouth like butter. Â We also tried the wok rice and seafood (can't recall name) but my wife found the soy sauce flavorings too strong and salty for her palette. Â Overall this is a 5 star orgy for your mouth at great prices, made even better by our Yelp deal. Â We went late saturday afternoon and it was very quiet, and the pace of the courses was perfect. Â We spent almost 2 hours there. Â Will definitely go back for more ceviche and that Jalea Del Muelle. Â Only regret was that my stomach is too small to eat more in one sitting, and that it's not located closer to home. Â Gracias.
Review Source:Ordered the Causa de pulpo al olivo and the Mixed Pier cebiche. I was impressed at the authenticity of the ingredients used (chef actually used Papa amarilla!-4 stars) The seafood in my cebiche tasted very fresh which was a huge bonus but was not crazy at the seasoning itself. It was missing just a hint of the explosion of flavors you expect to have when you have your first bite of peruvian cebiche (3 stars). My mom ordered the Classic pier and felt the same way.
This place has potential for being the next "place for cebiche fix" in Brickell but please re-consider customer service (2 stars), adding homemade chicha and peruvian desserts to the menu.
Working downtown yesterday, my coworker (friend) and I decided to come here for lunch. It has an open kitchen, nice white tables lined up in a room that has a great open air breeze and in the corner is a gentleman who plays a guitar and sings. Â Very comfortable, you feel like you are sitting outside while enjoying his spectacular music. Â He has real talent.
Our waitress was so friendly and helpful with the menu, giving us great recommendations. Â There menu has a nice selection of meat dishes, seafood, chicken, etc.... They also have lunch specials for under $10 per person. Â I ordered chicken with noodles and my friend ordered chicken with rice. Â When the dishes arrived, see picture, the portions were a nice size. Â My dish was excellent. Â The dish had so many great flavors to it. Just a bit spicy and it was delicious. Â They use wok's and have an Asian flare and also a Peruvian touch.
Both of our dishes were fresh, huge chunks of excellent quality chicken, steaming hot and both my noodles and his rice were incredible.
Our waitress mentioned they are going to start opening on Friday and Saturday evening's with a Happy Hour and live music. Â I am very excited to go back and enjoy the awesome music and food. Â Beer and wine only.
Welcome to downtown, you are awesome! Service and food were excellent.
Brent B. thanks for a fabulous lunch xoxoxo
