"Hey, here's a place to eat in Maynard!"  Well, that's all it took for us--thanks Yelp!  But anyway, the restaurant itself was actually pretty good, including service and atmosphere.  I'm not sure why anybody would come to Maynard, or what people here do with themselves, but I can vouch for the Pleasant Café.
Review Source:I went here one night while in the area with my wife. Â It was inviting because you can see the whole inside because of the full length glass windows that run the length of the bar. Â The bar itself offers a variety of drinks and they have a number of beers on tap beyond your traditional run of the mill beers. Â There are a couple of pool tables and the ambiance is great with the memorabilia and flat screen TVs throughout the bar. Â We ordered food and it was traditional pub food. Â It wasn't anything special but the price was right and the bartender was more than inviting the whole time we were there. Â All in all it was a good experience and based off the number of people in the bar it seems like a great local watering hole which would be a great place to watch games.
Review Source:Nice drink selection and the food is decent, but make sure you go over your bill carefully--two separate members of my party were overcharged for drinks they didn't order. Â The bartender laughed it off and gave approximate cash refunds, but this just seemed dishonest. Â If I go back in the future, I would recommend paying for each drink as you order it. Â This would be a much better bar with better staff.
