I came up from CT to visit my cousins for the holidays, and heard about Victory from my Uncle. My first impression was a good one upon walking in. Great selection in the walk in humidor, very nice decor, comfortable couches, and a bar. However my experience was all downhill from there...
It very quickly became very loud and hard to find a seat. All the patrons seemed to be middle-aged family men, pretending  to enjoy cigars so that they could escape their wives and children for a few miserable hours and reminisce about the high school football. A select few patrons weren't even smoking cigars, just cigarettes.
One lady acted as bartender, waitress and cigar-cashier. Understandably she was very busy, however I found her demeanor to be very brusque. She asked to see my cousin and my own IDs, sold us the cigars, then proceeded to tell us that she could not serve us because it was an out-of-state ID. I am still confused as to why she sold us the cigars, but not alcohol?
I will not be going back.
This is a true hidden gem. I was really impressed by this cigar bar. Coming from Boston, it was really nice to get away from all the hustle and bustle of the city. It was also an absolute joy to see cigar prices minus inflation! I had the Casa Magna Colorado (a deep, rich, full bodied smoke), which normally cost $15 bucks in the city--$9 at Victory's!!!
While the ventilation system (or lack thereof) leaves much to be desired, I was there during less than busy hours so I didn't really mind. There's also a really cute patio with nice spacious seating which makes this place really unique in my opinion. Its a nice feature to have and really adds to the home like comfort feeling that's very inviting.
Victory Cigar has a really mellow feel to it. It's as if you're in your own home (or a friends home who doesn't mind you smoking;). This may or may not be the feel you're looking for, but as someone who really appreciates a good cigar, I'm actually more attracted to places where the focus is on the enjoyment of the cigar as opposed to the social aspects.
It's nice to know that one can still find the finer things in life outside of a big city. Â My wife and I happened to discover Victory Cigar Ltd. and were amazed by this great find.
When rating any cigar bar there several important considerations and I would like to mention a few ways in which Victory hits the mark. Â First cigar selection. Â Victory's walk in humidor (properly maintained at 73%) is on point. Â They have a top notch selection featuring several DR and my favorite Nicaraguan tobaccos. Â (Brands featured include several varities in each of the following lines Ashton, Rocky Patel, Don Pepin Garcia, CAO, Casa Magna and Monte Cristo, among others. Â You will surely find something fitting to your individual palette. Â Second, liquor selection. Â Again another mark. Â Victory offers an extensive selection of single malts (I had an Oban), blends, bourbons, and even cognacs. Â It is a full service bar so if you are simply looking for a great drink in a relaxed atmosphere this is the place. Â Lastly, a knowledgeable and courteous staff. Â Here Victory is the victor once again. Â The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. Â
I would recommend taking the trip to Sudbury to take in the relaxing countryside and enjoy a fine smoke in a homey and relaxing atmosphere.
