This was really fun. Â My son's car was in the shop and we stopped here before we picked it up. Â This is not a fancy restaurant - I'd classify it as a sports bar "wannabe". I say that because we were there when the Bulls game was on, and there were only a handful of people there.
They have a great beer selection - lots of craft beers. Â Their menu is bar food - pizza, wraps, hamburgers, etc. Â Jon had a chicken wrap, I had a "hangover cure hamburger" - all of their burgers are 1/2 pound. Â This one had bacon, a fried egg and cheese (I had them hold the cheese). Â I had a amber bock beer of some kind that was on tap. They have a wide variety of sides to choose from - cole slaw, fries, waffle fries, tater tots and there were a few other things too.
The service was a little slow, but not too bad. Â The wait staff was very friendly - I love it when the servers seem genuinely happy when you're there. Â And, the food was really good. Â There were TVs everywhere, most of them had the Bulls game on so we had a great view.
The bar itself is very nice. Â Lots of barstools. Â There are no booths of restaurant tables. Â There are large, high tables that seat 10 or so. Â When we were there, Jon and I sat at one table. Â There was an older guy sitting at the table next to us nursing a whiskey. Â But, there were about a dozen or so sitting around the bar doing shots and beer....
I'll definitely be back. This is right in downtown Palatine a couple of block from the train station. Â Convenient, good food, good beer and good service.
