Beans & Leaves Coffee & Tea Cafe

A coffee shop without a bathroom... anyone else see where this could pose a problem?

And it's not even like they just don't have a public bathroom -- they don't have any bathroom. The woman working behind the counter said that when she has to go to the bathroom, she has to put a sign on the door and walk down to the street to the next storefront, or wait till someone she knows comes in to watch the shop. I feel like that's gotta be some kind of OSHA violation.

Beyond that you have to hold it when you're there, the shop is tremendously cute, albeit small. They have little gifts and knack knacks, a coffee, tea & smoothie menu that's actually pretty expansive and a few (like, three) different kinds of baked goods like cookies and biscotti.

The woman behind the counter was friendly and made everything up for us on the scene. The prices were definitely more affordable than a standard Starbucks and both the Iced Chai Latte and strawberry smoothie were refreshing and on point. Not too sugary, not too watery, perfect temperature, and one of the only shops worth making a stop at in Downtown Long Grove... as long as you don't need to use the bathroom.

My only complaint is that I don't live close enough! Ahhhh, although it is a very special treat when I do go there.

I'm from Chicago and don't get to visit here as often as I would like, however it is my favorite reason to go to longgrove! Super friendly staff and owner, makes you feel at home when you are there. There is absolutely no corporate vibe at all! Which is a huge plus. It's a cute and charming little shop that makes you feel almost like you are in a movie, the owner and staff even knew customers names when they came in! I love that!
Everything is delicious there and inexpensive! Plus you can do a little vintage shopping and listen to live music while you are there.
I couldn't believe how inexpensive it is, I guess I'm just to use to city prices. I can't even do this place justice with my words, that's how it good it is!

The strawberry iced tea they have is the best thing in the world! I have only had the coffee once, which was great, but the strawberry iced tea makes it hard for me to get something else.

Quaintness reflects the rest of this darling street - a fairy tale small town oasis in the middle of north suburban sprawl.  Setup is more gift shop than cafe.  Only 3 small tables - don't expect to settle & spread.  Huge loose tea selection.  Owner is super friendly.
