I've been here multiple times, but just now realized it's on Yelp! I don't know why I couldn't find it to check-in the first times.
Anyway, this is a regular go-to lunch spot for my coworkers and me when I'm in town for business. It's probably one of my favorites of our rotating schedule. I've tasted the pork, the ribs, and the chicken. I enjoyed all three, but pork plate is my fave. It comes with a little bit of sauce on it, but the tables all have 4 different ones you can choose from to add on to your meat: The Master (original, which I believe is what's already on your food), Sump'n Sweet (my fave), Georgia Mud (a mustard-based type), and Fire in the Hole (spicy!). I like how they don't put a bunch of sauce on it to begin with, so that diners can sauce it to their liking.
Best sides are the homemade bbq chips (too much spice for me because I don't do spicy, but still delicious), and corn nuggets. There's also baked beans, regular slaw, hot slaw (added cayenne), fries, and other ones I haven't tried yet.
I always look forward to coming here because they're so friendly and remember you when you come in.
We passed this restaurant on the way to go white water rafting, so we decided that on the way back, we'd stop here for lunch.
I shared the sampler with another person, so there was everything to try: ribs, chicken, Â and pulled pork. We picked the potato salad and hot slaw as sides. We were a little surprised that this place didn't have mac n cheese a side. What's BBQ without some good cheesy mac? Everything was just ok. We didn't like the sauce on the ribs, but there were some other good choices on the table. The chicken was mostly smoked but didn't have any flavor. Sides were good. We picked the hot slaw because we had never had anything like it. Hot slaw might have been one thing I liked about the meal.
Service was great and they're friendly. The restaurant almost feels like going to someone's house from how the kitchen looks (like a nice home kitchen with granite countertops) to the other somewhat separated rooms with tchotkes hanging on the walls.
However, I probably wouldn't return for another visit. I've had other better BBQ places closer to Atlanta.
Passing through after a weekend hike and picked it at random. Â Was nervous at first because absolutely no one was in there. Â But the service was very friendly and the pulled pork was excellent- Â and I am very picky about my BBQ. Â Not much to say about the sides..seemed to all be previously frozen except for the slaw. Â I did not try the desserts but there was a big display case and they looked really tempting. Â One thing that bugs me is that you have to order at the front and then find a seat and serve your on drinks. Â But I would go back again...like I say...BBQ tasted great!
