We had a great experience!!! Â This place has great food from casual sandwiches to fancy meals. Â I had the burger with Cheddar, gilled onions, and bacon . It was great! Â miy wife and a friend in our group both had the pecan crusted tilapia and loved it. Â I tried it myself and agreed. Â Theyhave a great Italian beef/suasage combo as well!! Â great fries!! Service was great!! from the Hostess to the waitress. Â We went there to see the band Hudson McCoy. Â I had asked the owner if they could get us a good table for both dining and viewing the band. Â But then I had an idea to make it a little more fun for our group I asked the owners if they would help in playing a gag on my friends. Â They went above and beyond. Â I asked if they could have someone sitting at our table that was reseverd for us when we arrived that would refuse to leave (our table) to create a little drama when we got there and would agree to go after talking to me. Â The owner had her father sitting there with another person. Both the owner and her father played their parts flawlessly. Â My friends loved the joke and didn't know until just befoere we leaving that it was a prank. We laughed our heads off!! Â We truly enjoyed the band and the food!!!! Â Great experience all around. Â If you want to have fun with you friends and have an idea for a prank this is the place to go.
Owners here are very accommodating and care about your experience!!!!
We will be coming back here again.

Port barrington Has a new Owner ,  Seems like most of the good menu items from the previous  owners  are  no longer on the menu , Come on " Blackened Scallops"  the place was famous for them, I did order something from the old menu the (don't remember the name  but it was a pasta dish with sausage  and a light cream sauce  it wasn't as good as the previous ownership  I guess its because its a new chef  , the owner did come on by the table and introduced himself  and he was pleasant enough  and was inviting , I just think he needs to think about the menu choices ,  put some old favorites back on it  and add some new ones  but  don't lose or shun  the clientele that you have had for the past 14 years.  in my opinion he  took off all the items worth coming into the restaurant for.
Review Source:This place suffers from "Great Food Crappy Atmosphere" syndrome. Oysters Belvidere topped with horseradish and caviar were incredible. Chicken DeJonghe was great. The chef (Fernando?) was incredibly friendly and at our table all night. But it's definitely like walking into a place where you'd expect to get into a fight on a Friday night. You should stop by once, at least for the oysters.
Review Source:Yes its a riverside bar but with appetizers like escargot, crabcakes & bbq shrimp along with main meals such as chicken De jonghe, pork chops vesuvio and a variety of pastas the food is way above what you would expect from this casual Barrington spot.
Watch the game there on Sunday and get one of their fantastic burgers or chicken sandwiches made to order with huge delicious steak fries and it will be a good day.
Wow! Is the only word I can think to use of in describing this place. Â I can not decide if I loved it or hated it.
Filled with locals, our hostess couldn't be bothered with seating us. Â She was too busy getting her picture taken with the locals.
This indeed, is a strange place in the back woods. Â We came here because the advertisement was that it was on the water. Â Which it indeed is. Â But the narrow patio where only one row of plastic patio tables are face the parking lot! um......
But the usually good part is. Â Their food is to die for. Â I had three killer mai tais, really good salad with great thousand island dressing. Â I had the ribeye which was excellent.
Good for a casual meal but really nothing special. The food and service is good. We had the ribs which were meaty and tasty and the Linguine with shrimp and broccoli was passable. I would probably skip the Crab Cake for one of the other starters like the Pizza Bread which was very good.
Review Source:I've only been to Port Barrington Bar and Grill twice -- both times I managed to get badly, deeply lost in what I perceived to be no man's land of long winding roads and little to no streets lights amongst a forest -- but I managed to find this gem of a place. The first time I came here, I enjoyed a wonderfully tasty seared ahi tuna, garnished with julienne scallions, cilantro and drizzled with a light wasabi soy dressing. It was actually an appetizer, but the portion was big enough to constitute a meal. The amaretto stone sour was a little light on the amaretto though.
The second time I ventured into this neck of the woods was for a private last summer fling party. Behind the restaurant, as the name implies, is Port Barrington. Boats decked out with lights sailed by as if it were Venetian night (it probably was though). A giant white tent was set up with a stage and dance floor center for 200+ people. Tables outlined the dance floor. A band was playing ... and in order to get over to the tent, you had ushers/drivers in golf carts meet you at the main restaurant to drive you over the wooden bridge to the port. The party area was lit with tiki torches and cigar maids walked around offering Romeo and Juliets. The food (buffet style) was bountiful. Servers helped you with your selection from the staple burgers and dogs to lentils and pastas. The folks at Port Barrington sure know how to throw a party!
