I had numerous friends' bands play here, but I never seemed to have made it. Â Well, Saturday night I finally checked this venue out. Â I met up with my friend and a few of his other friends. Â We sat at the bar and drank, while a band was on stage that played cover songs. Â
The place was not too crowded and it was a mix of age groups. Â I was a little surprised by this. Â When I say mixed age groups, I mean 20s to 50s. Â It may have just been some of the locals that strolled in.
I do like they have a pool table for chill nights like that. Â We played a little photo hunt at the bar, while we sipped on our adult beverages. Overall, I had fun because of who I met there, but the place was okay. Â I didn't really love they charged $5 to get in just to hang out at the bar.
The place can get loud, so conversations may limit when a band is on stage.
This place is awful, which is sad because it has so much potential. The acoustics are terrible, makes the conversations in the building sound much loud and it fights against the people actually playing on stage. The sound of chatter was overwhelming the air, instead of the live music. Drinks are expensive for what they are (prices change per employee when paying in cash), plus the bartenders are amateur. One one toilet per gender, which are usually kept in disgusting conditions. Some patrons seem to get extremely out of hand, which has happened at almost every show I have seen here and not one employee does anything to stop it. If someone is knocking over people, especially girls or wheelchair bound individuals (yes, that happened twice) they need to be thrown out and not continuously being served alcohol. Also, bad ventilation so the inside is very warm, which when mixed with the indoor allowed smoking, makes you feel like you have a disgusting film of filth on your body. I kept going back, trying to give this place a fair try, but I just can't recommend this place to anyone.
Review Source:Decent venue - would give it a better rating if the volume inside wasn't always so obnoxiously loud and the well liquor was drinkable.
Bartenders are nice and the nightly events bring the crowds - usually just the locals, though.
They allow smoking inside the venue, which irks the hell out of me. It's disgusting.
Propaganda has a lot of potential, but it isn't my "go-to" for hanging out due to the lack of good drinks (c'mon guys, get Sobieski as your well vodka and NOW we have a drink!)
Would be better if quality bands ever played. There used to be a variety of bands that would play this club, but it seems like that stopped happening and now there's  no reason to return. I don't know what happened. Something similar happened to Little Munich.
If Propaganda did more than host dubstep and reggae nights--maybe give us an indie night/'60s/motown/soul night--I'd love to come back. Right now I don't see the point.
They bluntly advertise as an "indie rock dive bar". There is nothing divey about this place, nor do I find anything about it to be particularly "indie rock". What I can say is that this place is definitely welcomed in a city saturated with sports bars and popped collar meat markets. What I found here was a clean new bar and venue with an energetic younger crowd and expensive drinks.
I liked the lounge area in the back, but found it impossible to hear anyone talk due to the overly loud live music. There is a pool table. It's amusing how South Florida has caught on to the NYC hipster trend by offering PBR drink specials and drawing people in with the "indie rock dive bar" label. I'd like to give this place a lower rating, just because their advertising is so annoying and obviously trying to appeal to pseudo-hipster kids. However, I can't. South Florida needs places like this. I would come back here if friends dragged me out, but under protest due to the loud music. The reason to come here would be to see a local band, not to socialize. So it's really a venue. A venue that attracts a lot of douches.
I'd really like to see Propaganda be more honest about its identity. How about: "a new clean South Florida venue for younger people to drink and enjoy some local rock music." Ok, so it sounds like an old man's description. But at least it's honest!
i came here recently to see the spam all-stars. cover charge was $10 but bar prices are pretty decent. the crowd was pretty mixed, the fact is that this took place during halloweens weekend. the characters... but it was all good. might be a bit uncomfortable for those who dont smoke... does not have a patio but it has a loungy area in the back as well as some retro arcade games. very cool wallpapers everywhere. oh and a pool table. good spot to watch a music act.
