Okay, maybe I was feeling a little bad when Tio Rodrigo's closed after my terrible review (sorry, Rod), so I really wanted to like The Pub. Â Truth is..I LOVE this place! Â I have been here maybe a dozen times since it opened, including my last birthday gathering. Â This place truly succeeds in what it's trying to be..a fun place to hang out with a decent pub menu that seems to be centered around (start fanfare now..) Â Prime Rib!
There is a shuffleboard table, a giant connect 4 'thing' and other games scattered across the pub, as well as standard 'hang-out' things like the dart board. Â
I don't care what night you show up on..service is ALWAYS top notch! (unusual for a pub, I know)
As for the food...Rod and his team serve the same wings he serves at his other location (Hot Rod's), fresh salads, sandwiches (some made from the prime rib), and oh yeah, did I mention the prime rib?
If you are looking for a fun place to just hang out with friends and eat some great food, I highly recommend the Pub!
Stopped in here tonight for the first time. Service was excellent. Very pleasant atmosphere. It was a beautiful evening and we ate outside watching the Bank Street traffic. Very nice. I had the Gorgonzola and Chicken Salad. The salad mix was a nice fresh mix of a variety of greens. It was a large portion and I was unable to finish it but it was very good and I brought the rest home. My only comment would be I wished items like the chicken and mushrooms were chopped a bit smaller to bite size portions. I had a Blue Moon to drink. Wished it had been draft, but for me, bottle was acceptable. Â She had the Nut and Berry salad, which again, was large, but she was able to finish it. She liked it and it looked interesting enough to me, that I may have it on my next trip back. Her salad had pears, cranberries, candied nuts mixed in a nice variety of greens. Yes, I'll definitely go back to sample other things from their menu.
Review Source:This place is where the old Tio Rodrigo's was located. The bull was moved to the roof.
The main restaurant remains the same, a pool table, jukebox and foosball table were added to the bar. This place has a good atmosphere. It's a nice comfortable place to hang out, grab a beer and a burger.
The menu looks really good. There is a large selection of salads. The chopped pasta salad looks awesome. When we went we had the mixed green salad. The garlic bread croutons are great and the mixed greens seemed fresh. There are some interesting looking burgers including a Salmon burger. My wife had the salmon burger and was really pleased. It again, seemed like they took fresh salmon, broke it up and formed it into a patty. I had the buffalo blue cheese burger. It was good, the burgers are good size and if you've ever had the burgers at Hot Rod's, you'll like these as they're the same. I would have hoped for a little heat with the buffalo sauce, but otherwise it was tasty.
Get the cajun fries. Yes, that is all.
I think next time I'll have the burger with the fried egg and bacon on it. It looks really good.
They had a decent beer selection with a few draft beers. I know they kept the margarita's from Tio's and Wednesday night is Mexican night showcasing some of the burritos.
I look forward to seeing this place in the summer. It should do pretty well once deck weather is upon us.
