The only reason Copperwood Grill gets 2 stars is for the great tasting food and "children's"section. Â This had the potential to be a 5 star restaurant if it weren't for the extremely rude waitress (Sarah) and over 1 hour wait time for our food. Â
If you have an hour plus to wait and don't mind rude service, I would recommend any of the burgers or chicken wings. Â Let's just say Sarah needs to be talked to by her manager... Â
The excuse for the wait was that there was only one bartender, one waitress and one cook...Is this a restaurant and a bar? Can you not handle people coming in ordering drinks and food? Â Does not appear to be the case.
The Copperwood Grill in Downtown New London, is fantastic. Â A local establishment, this restaurant and bar offers outdoor patio seating on those must-sit-outside summer afternoons... This is key. Â Inside, you'll find a spacious bar, ample booth and table seating, and... Â get this.. Off Track Betting. Â Yes, you can plop it on a bar stool and bet on MisterLuckyPeepers for the win at Suffolk Downs.
The service here is fantastic. Â I've been twice now, and each time the servers have been fantastically friendly, conversational, and attentive. Â
The drinks: Â This place is known for having the Best Bloody Mary in Town. Â Great beer selection as well.
The food: Â Probably the best fish and chips I've had in CT, and the black bean burger, although slightly spicy, is hella good.
The prices are affordable, the service stellar, the food phenomenal, and the atmosphere inviting. Â Definitely my new go-to spot for lunch in New London.
