Best Mexican food I have found in the Oly area thus far. Bonus: They have an entertainment coupon deal buy one get one, so it was really cheap! Visited on a weeknight for dinner with a friend. This is not the fanciest spot, but it is by no means a dive. Great place for a meal with friends or family. Decor is standard, parking is a private lot in front.
My friend and I were seated immediately at a booth upon arrival and handed menus- these are some large menus! Lots of options. The restaurant was probably about a 1/4 to 1/3 full, and remained that way for the duration of our meal. Ordered poppers, chicken burritos, and enchiladas. Our server was both friendly and helpful. Food arrived a short while later, and was piping hot! The salsa here is good as well. I would recommend this spot to anyone in need of a Mexican food fix.
Nice rustic environment, great service, well-rounded menu selection, and fast hot food. I will agree with another review and say that the food was a tad too salty. Beyond that, the food had good flavor, and the portions were very generous. My girlfriend and I started with a house margarita on the rocks. I like margaritas, but I loved this margarita. I switched to a Bohemia beer for my meal because the margy went down way too fast and smooth.
I think everyone should try this restaurant, and if you ar sensitive to salty food, you might be able to request no added salt. Try it out!
Overly salty chips and food, check. Server that doesn't speak English enough to communicate clearly, check. Drinks lacking a memorable kick, check. Salsa that leaves room for improvement, check.
I tend to post reviews as a warning, and this establishment earned one in my humble opinion. We've been there twice now, even though after the first time I said I wasn't interested in returning. My lady suggested we try again to be sure, and now I'm sure this place won't be on my short list of places to eat. Matter of fact I'm pretty much putting it on the Saltiest Food in Lacey list. I dunno, maybe that's a positive for some folks?
On the positive side, the food arrived fast, but ALL mexi food places generally do, so it's really not like it's something special to mention really, but hey, I'm trying to find something nice to say!
In all fairness, it's not horrible food, it's just not up to standards compared to the other mexi options in the vicinity.
Was invited here by family. Didn't expect much. TexMex maybe. Besides, its way out on the edge of civilization. Well it was the real deal. And tons of it. With great prices and service. Great seafood selection too. I don't hand out 5 star ratings to non-5 star restaurants, but if this place had table cloths and a dress code, it would get that extra star. Yummy!
Review Source:Our favorite new Mexican place in the Lacey/Olympia area. Â Great Happy Hour food prices from 4-6 pm ($1 taco/$2 quesadilla), bean dip and salsa with the chips was great, wonderful, tasty burritos, and my favorites, soapapillas for dessert. Â Service was friendly and quick. Â Its located in the old Shipwreck Tavern on Martin.
