Purple Haze is one funny place.
The store is always overseen by really WEIRD chatsworth stoners that dont really know what they're doing. They carry no big name glass products, except for one little case of Roors in the middle of the store that is perpetually on sale. I'm about 86% sure they're completely fake, because I've never seen real Roors sell for less than $100 with a BuyOneGetOne deal LOL. Speaking of their BOGOs, these kids try to sell you a relatively higher-end Phire water pipe just about every time you walk into the shop, pitching the fact that if you buy one they'll throw another ~$300 water pipe in for free. Literally every fucking time I come in they try to sell me this, saying that I'd be dumb not to go for it, since I could "easily eBay it and get my piece for almost nothing." Yeah buddy, I'm sure I'd be able to eBay your weak ass made-in-China Phire products if you guys cant even sell them out of your store.
They have a wide selection of grinders and other accessories, but they are overpriced like crazy. I'm talking $50+ for a metal 3" grinder. However, take this tip: they inflate every single one of their products' prices on the price stickers, so they can bargain with you and act like they're hooking you up. I'm serious, lowball the absolute SHIT out of them, and you can probably walk out with a decent deal. I once made the mistake of buying a Phire water pipe here that was labeled for $125, and I got it with a padded bong bag included for $100. They also carry a bunch of papers, stash cans, blunt wraps, etc, but they carry no Swishers or any real cigarillos....
In the end, there arent many smoke shops to choose from in the west valley and I come here every now and then for pipe cleaner and little accessories, but never for big glass purchases. Meh.
Let it be know that I am a first time Yelp poster and I created this account for the sole purpose of sharing my negative shopping experience. I apologize if this post is lengthy, but I like to paint a clear picture. Let's get to the incident at hand shall we?
I found this place on Google this past Sunday night, December the 2nd. I was in need of a hand held pipe and was considering purchasing a water pipe as well. A fairly young, somewhat hyper, yet knowledgeable young man assisted me with showing me what options fell in my price range. I opted to go with a inexpensive glass water pipe per his recommendation. I found a hand pipe that I wanted, and the young man worked out an affordable price for the combo of both water and hand held pipes. At this point, I was very satisfied with what I purchased for the amount of money I spent.
Now it's Tuesday morning - I went to use the water pipe and after a few uses, I ran into a problem: the top of the bowl's head literally just snapped off in a clean straight line when I went to lift  it out of the down stem to clear the chamber. If only I could post a picture!
Now it's Tuesday night  - So I go back to this head shop before they close in hopes of being greeted by someone friendly who would help take care of my issue since it's only been roughly 72 hours since I made my purchase and there is no excuse for what I described above.
CUE THE TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE SCENARIO:
Instead of being helpful, this guy was heedless and clueless. His excuse was that "it's glass, it breaks - especially with built up residue" .... what kind of residue builds up in this short time frame? (keep in mind I do work full time hours). Anyway, so this schmuck shows me what my options are for replacements - the starting price for the lowest grade plain clear bowl is little more than 1/3 the cost of the water pipe I just purchased, which included it's own colored designed bowl. I asked him if he can do 50% off and he flat out told me "NO" and that the best he could do was 10%. After bickering with this fool and listening to his snide condescending remarks, he knocked $10 off something slightly better than the lowest grade bowls. At this point, I was livid and wanted to speak to a manager, but obviously at 9:55pm, no manager would be there. So I got what I needed and got the hell out of the there.
I will make sure to tell all of my friends and their friends to NEVER SHOP AT PURPLE HAZE. I was planning on returning to take a friend so they could pick out their birthday gift this month, but I think I will go to Dementia or Lions Lair :)
I came here to get supplies for my hookah. The guy working there was just...how do i put this...weird! He definitely knew his stuff but he was just creepy. I'm pretty sure he overcharged us for all the stuff we bought but this was a couple minutes from my house so it was convenient for us. He definitely got us to buy way more than we needed so I guess the owner deserves a thumbs up for finding someone that up sells. The shop shares a small parking lot with subway, LT nails, ernie's pizza and a few other businesses. I would say only come here if you have no clue how things work and what you need because he WILL spend half an hour explaining everything to you. Otherwise go somewhere else where they won't overcharge you. We got four hookah flavors for $20 and 6 coals for $5, doesn't sound like much of a deal to me but I definitely learned from this experience.

Â Every time I've been there have had a new perc or something new that I have never heard of or seen. Â Very innovative in terms of the products available. Â Also willing to work with you on prices especially if you're buying more than one item. Â Definitely one of the top spots in the valley.
Review Source:It's an alright place. It has pretty much everything you need and good customer service, the only issue in my opinion is the pricing at times. They definitely give friends a better discount then first time buyers. I didn't have a problem with any of my hookahs and they provided good customer service.

They carry every single brand name that copies and steals ideas from true artists...
They don't carry any Toros, No Sovereignty, No Mobius, No Hitman, No N8, No Snic they carry some other bs electroforming work but it's not Snic, Big Pizzle nor Rellik whom are the innovators of the art.
They do not carry any Pakoh, Arik Krunk, Dwreck, Slinger, Strobel, Clinton Roman, No Heady Ti, No Highly Educated Ti, just cheap imitations and china glass.. A very very sad gallery I don't recommend at all.

Horrible customer service!
I bought a roor for my boyfriend's Christmas present. Not being the most experienced roor purchaser, I was sold a bad piece that had clearly been broken and fixed.
We went to EXCHANGE the piece and were greeted by a rude employee who used vulgar language and literally insulted us. Â "...you're being a little bitch.".
We asked to speak to the manager and the guy refused to call, saying he didn't want to "bother," the manager with this.
It ended with a heated argument and being chased of the store with the guy cussing us out. Â It was the worst customer service that I have EVER received in any type of store. I will never be returning here and suggest that you go someplace else.
I'm a non-smoker  but went with a friend- super friendly/chill staff- very helpful too. Good prices on everything and they even give discounts when you're friendly and buy more than one item. Love their incense sticks and they have a lot of cool stuff. It's kind of like going into a candy store- looking at everything they have. Â
One thing I thought was cool is they have the latest and newest imports such as their new vaporizers by Jolite. Â Cool stuff
definitely better service/experience than any other smoke shop i've been to in the valley
PLUS Â they were playing DUBSteP! Â how awesome!
This place has beautiful pieces and really good prices, the prices are great too, they have the new spice here the legal kind that is RCS-08 chemical. the attendant here was very informative and he gave me information and demonstrations on vaporizers. i would definitely come here again to buy a big name brand piece. the price is right.
