NOT impressed.
Was in just 30 minutes after it opened and it took 35 minutes for our food to arrive! And two ladies that came in after us , ordered full meals, were served before us!
I wasn't impressed with their lunch pricing either. clams at lunch $12.00?!
my daughter is on a restricted diet and asked for her fish tacos to be replaced from a flour shell to a corn shell, and they didn't have any! So she was going to wrap her fish in the piece of lettuce they put on the plate, and it had a few brown spots on it!
Sorry Raps, with all the nicer restaurants in our area, we wont be back.
Raps has great food, good prices, and nice atmosphere. Â I had a seafood combo with fried shrimp, fried oysters and a crab cake. Â The oysters and shrimp were perfectly done, not over cooked, the crab cake had large lumps of crab. Â The fries were hot and crispy. Â Even the hush puppies were good. Â They also have a good beer selection. Â Service was prompt and friendly. Â This was my second visit to Raps, but I will definitely come back!
Review Source:I can honestly say that I had the worst fried shrimp and oysters of my life. Â Cold, greasy and soggy. Â Sent it back. The fries were good second round but the seafood was not. Â Also it took us 45 min to get our food. Â The manager was classy and comped my entree and gave a free drink. Â I suggest ordering a hamburger here. Â They looked really good.
Review Source:Great lil bar & grill. Â Great prices not a tourist trap like many others. Â Great service, fresh food, and friendly staff. Â First restaurant we felt that our service was wonderful. Â This was one of the first places we felt was not a tourist trap, offered great food choices and HAD great service. Â We needed a carnivore day for some real meat. Â We had enough seafood for the week. Â Started off with some New England clam chowder that was rich and creamy unlike the local version which is brothy. Â Ask before you eat! Â Cheap prices too. Â We got a half pound burger with fries for $5.99. Â My Mother said it was cooked as order and very juicy. Â I got the chicken fried sandwich that was breaded wonderfully. Â It was not greasy or too thick. Â The breading fell off the chicken a bit. Â You could tell it was all hand made fresh, not frozen. Â I had the sweet potato fries and although they were not fresh cut they were good. Â All food was prepared fresh and to order. Â Very nice servers too. Â Definitely a place we would return to if vacationing in nearby by Emerald Isle. Â Worth the drive. Â PS....they have awesome drink specials too.
Review Source:Service is solid. Â Food is great. Â Menu has some interesting options. Â They're nice to me even though I'm a Yankee. Â They didn't even make fun of me when I asked what a shrimp burger was, though there was an awkward silence. Â Just don't ask to change the tv even if the Red Sox are playing while NASCAR is on and you'll have a great time. Â My ship mates are fans of the $1 drafts, who can blame them!
Review Source:Have been meaning to try Rap's since we attended the Morehead City Christmas tree lighting. New Year's Day was good timing as many other locally owned restaurants were closed. Rap's is a bar and grill, but has a fairly decent selection; more than just pub food. I started with a cup of cream of broccoli soup which was thick and hearty if not especially flavorful. The main course was Animal Joe's Jamaican Chicken with rice pilaf. The chicken was on the dry side, but still tender. The Animal Joe's sauce and pineapple bits made it extremely tasty; both spicy and sweet! The rice pilaf was a good accompaniment, but I should have skipped the shrimp scampi as there was already plenty of food. Topped off with 99 cent Yuengling on tap, this made for a more than acceptable dinner for the $25 it cost for my food and my wife's taco salad.
