Never been to Ray's at night, but I've been eating lunch with them sporadically since they were in their original location on Court Street. Â I'm sure I must have tried other things... we once had our company Christmas party at the Court Street location, but I pretty much ALWAYS order the tuna on squaw with a bag of chips and a drink.
My most recent visit was fine. Â I don't remember if they used to serve white tuna, but I felt that the tuna wasn't as good as it used to be, they should serve white tuna... it's better!
The soda wasn't so good - don't know if they dont' have the mix right or buying off-brand syrups, but I was glad they only had medium sized cups. The place is feeling a little rundown; the dining room is kind of dark and gloomy for lunch and when people can see in your kitchen, it should be shiny and fresh looking. Â
But, the food is decent, not the cheapest sandwich, but it's good, the bread soft and it's close to the office. Â I'll be back again.
What can they do to get five stars?
Wow. Â They'd need to do a lot. Â I don't think they'll get five stars out of me. Â They'd have to do a serious update to the menu to make it unique. Â The food quality would have to jump up a notch and SERIOUS overhauling the decor and ambiance.
I've been coming here for years for lunch. Â They sell sandwiches, soups and burgers. Â I usually get a sandwich here. Â Their sandwiches come with a side like potato salad, cole slaw or carrot salad. Â Sandwiches are good. Â A whole sandwich costs about $7. Â I hear that the place turns into a bar/club at night.

Review Source:So after hearing about this place from some people, I decide to visit with my girlfriend. It's in a little spot near the windjammer and a tattoo parlor. You wouldn't know it by looking from the outside, but the inside dining area is huge. Me and my girlfriend arrived after lunch and the atmosphere was quiet and nice, I could tell it gets busy in here by all the tables, and it appears they have a karaoke stage which could be an awesome night spot. The food though, oh man I don't know what to say. I bent had a -real- pastrami sandwich in forever, the meat is crispy and warm while the roast beef I had with it clashed nicely and had a beefy end. For sides we had coleslaw and potato salad, and I never like coleslaw ever, but this was nice and sweet and crunchy. The potato salad was also pretty nice, with a spicy tangy finish to it. The soup we had for today was the hamburger soup, and it really tastes like mom made it which is a bonus. The way you can combine up to two meats (three will cost extra) and their selection of breads and cheeses makes it easy to find your own favorite. The staff is friendly and don't give you that "oh how are you guys doing?" every three minutes like some places. Over all I think I found a new place to go eat whenever I want something good, and don't let my bland combo of roast beef and pastrami put you off, there is much more they offer here that you just have to come by and find out for yourself.
