If you have read previous posts of mine you know my husband and I enjoy supporting local business, and trying different places. We went on a late Friday night date and  I have to say we enjoyed our experience. It was quaint and cute. It was obvious there were a lot of regulars there. The wait staff was nice and attentive. The food was surprisingly good as well. The best part was the availability of ingredients on the burger experience. You are given a dry erase sheet with a list to choose from. My husband had a 1lb burger with feta, roasted red peppers, A1 bacon, avocado and swiss for one price. I had turkey ciabatta with roasted red peppers and avocado and it was cooked just right. The only thing I would say is that the avocado was really warm, but thats semantics. I took away a star because, the booths are uncomfortable and a it was rather dirty around with food all over the carpet and the bathrooms needed a good scrub down. Having said that the food was good enough to cut some slack, but it would be nice if it were cleaner in the future.
Review Source:I was at Legacy on a Saturday night at 5pm. Â It wasn't crowded when I got there, but at the time I left, they had filled their tables (not many in this place to start with, which was nice). Â
The food was unimpressive, but I only tried the chicken fingers.
The fried mushroom appetizer and the queso dip were both decent, though.
Lots of kids from elementary age to high school were hanging out here and they were all well-behaved and nice.
Conclusion: If you don't have to eat food, go for the beer and the TV. Â If you're hungry, bring a sandwich from home.
This was my second visit to Legacy...the first time, I would have given it a two star rating (it was before I became a yelper) because our food was just ok and the service was horrible...we got in trouble for getting back to work 30 minutes late. However, this review is based on today's visit.
Went with a coworker because we had a buy one, get one coupon (if you bought two drinks). Our waitress was a little on the gloomy side...looked like her dog had just died, BUT she was efficient, so I can ignore the gloom...I dont expect to be best friends with my server anyway. Â Inside is ok...nothing great...a bar area (with drinkers, at lunch, both times I visited), tables and booths. Â Much prettier on the outside, with nice outdoor seating.
Coworker recommended the fish and chips and I went along...even tho I am pretty darn picky about fish and chips. Â They are on the appetizer menu and are only $6.99, so I was expecting a pretty small order. Â When they came out, you got a basket with a pile of fries (cooked extra crispy, just as ordered) and four large pieces of fish...about double what I expected. Â The fish was super crisp, not greasy, and really thick. These were not just thin slices of fish with a lot of breading...there was a good inch of perfect white fish. Cant remember when I had fish and chips that wasnt mostly breading! The tartar sauce was kinda gross...a little on the thick, gluey side...like it had been in the little plastic cup a little too long...and VERY sweet. Tasted not unlike Miracle Whip. Â I asked if they had cocktail sauce (my preference anyway) and my gloomy waitress redeemed herself and earned her 20%+ tip by saying, no, but I can make you some...I'll be right back. Â Seriously?!? Very impressed. She brought back some fresh sauce chockful of nice horseradish. Also some malt vinegar. Â Total for the two of us, with coupon, for two meals and two drinks...$11, so we left her a $4 tip.
Down side...weak tea...gggrrrrrrr! But a thick lemon wedge. Â All in all, I have had one really good visit and one not-so-good visit...so I will definitely go for a tie-breaker!
Now, before someone flips out here, I have to say I am picky with my food (yes, Im a foodie).
I ordered the chip appetizer and it was quite good, but I had my mouth set on some creamy, chicken alfredo as my main. Â Well, I wish that is what I had gotten. Â The chicken was dry and tough, the "alfredo" was dry and a little chunky to be honest. Â I was expecting a cream sauce and got a sauce that looked more like cottage cheese honestly. Â The steak pieces I tried werent real flavorful, however they werent as bad as some places I have had a steak massacred at.
I might go back and try it once more to see if this were a fluke, but, based on first impressions, well, I wasn't too impressed.
Went here with Rick D, Liz A, the hubs and a friend. Â They are running a special where you get an appetizer, 2 meals and 2 soft drinks for $20 (seems everywhere is doing this now). Â I had the steak & shrimp, but the steak tasted kinda funny, so I gave it to hubby. Â The shrimp was good though! Â Hubby had chicken fingers and he got a ton of them! Â They were really good too! Â Their blue cheese chip appetizer and their cheese fries appetizer were also really good. Â Not so sure I'd go back, as it's typical bar food at most and the parking at this place kinda sucks!
Review Source:Had the pleasure of visiting yesterday evening - I had received a postcard inviting me to enjoy a birthday entree on the house. Â
Our waitress, Alli, was a pleasure, and very attentive, bringing refills before we hit the bottom of our glass. Â She even commiserated with my fiance over having to switch from sweet tea to Coke (he has just arrived back in the South from NYC and is still becoming accustomed to the sweetness level of the South's elixir.)
I had the BBQ grilled chicken with bacon and cheddar, and he had the country fried steak. Â We both enjoyed a spinach con queso appetizer, which was generously offered along with two meals as a house special for $20 total! Â (there were several appetizer and dinner choices, by the way.)
Relaxed, comfortable environment + great service + good food selection and quality + great prices = 4 Yelp stars!
