The Red Thai Room

This was our first time at Red Thai Room.  We went Friday night and had reservations but did not need them.  We had a party of 4.  This was great for sharing entrees so we could try more things.  We started with the Sampler Platter which had two of everything on their Small Bites Menu.  My favorites were the Coconut shrimp, Beef Satay, and the Crispy Vegetables Rolls.  Then we all shared the following entrees:  Indian Yellow Curry, Pad Thai, and Burmese Style Roast Beef.  We all thought everything was delicious.  The portions were not huge, but they were enough for the four of us.  No left overs.  Efficient, friendly service and alcohol prices were reasonable for an upscale restaurant.  
Looking forward to trying lunch special and happy hour in the future.  Just purchased the Yelp deal so will return for dinner as well.

Food was okay but overpriced.  They were going for the fine dining aspect but lacked the quality in the food service was mediocre at best.  I love Thai food and have pretty much eaten every kind of Thai food there is including having been to Thailand twice so this is coming from someone who knows Thai food.  The only thing that I enjoyed was the ambiance at the restaurant.  Pad Thai was not very good. The beef dish was pretty good. We tried to get sushi but they said sushi chef was on vacation. We went for dinner but it was really slow but our server seemed like he had never served at a restaurant before.  I am a bartender at a casual fine dining restaurant and if I was opening a new upscale restaurant, I would make sure to have good quality servers all the time especially when you are a new restaurant.

The Red Thai Room delivers an excellent restaurant experience. Before my date and I even walked in I was welcomed with a warm greeting from a young man that turned out to be our server. Cesar was polite, knowledgeable, and more than helpful in accommodating our dinner that evening. The cuisine was delicious and the beer and wine selections were great, but I do think that our time spent was made all the better by receiving such magnificent service. I would definitely come back.
