In good faith I couldn't keep to my original 4 stars. I think 3 is about right.
As most people say it's not friendly service...at all. Which I guess I can sort of overlook, and sort of not.
2nd I like sweet tea. A lot. Normally I find 2 issues with sweet tea: 1. It's not sweet and 2. It's too sweat and your mouth just hurts tasting it. Which only really problem #2 is a big deal. However, I found a new issue with Sweet tea from this place. I don't even know what's wrong b/c my very first comment to myself as I drove away (to go order) was "Is there arsenic in this?" first of all I don't know what arsenic taste like and second of all if that's what comes to mind there is a serious issue with that sweet tea!
Food is still pretty decent, not as awesome as I remember it being (been awhile since I last went there) but I could no longer warrant my original 4 stars and for that I give a sad face. : (

I'll go along with everybody saying the guy is a dick and the food sucks. I frequent the homebrew store close to here and I thought it would be great to have a nice lunch spot so close. Two birds with one stone.

I walk in, no greeting. Dude stands at the register staring at me. I walk up and say "hey how's it going. I've never been in here before." He says "what can I get you?" No greeting or friendliness at all. Just that blank stare. I ordered a brisket combo and he says "Do you want that as a sandwich or bread on the side?" He didn't say it clearly and I thought he said "Do you want that as a sandwich with the bread on the side?" I said "sure." He lets out this sigh/eye-roll and says really slow like I'm an idiot, "Do... you... want.... that..... as...... a....... sandwich..... OR.......... the bread on the side?"

I should have just walked out. But I was hungry and honestly I was caught so off guard by his shitty attitude that I was like a deer in headlights. So I got the bread on the side and the combo with mac-n-cheese and collard greens.

The food sucked. Brisket was dry and I honestly couldn't even tell that it was smoked. It didn't have that pink smoke ring and it tasted more like pot roast than BBQ. The bread was the cheapest loaf bread money could buy. Like Walmart brand sliced white bread. The M&C was OK but came in this little cup that was literally 2 bites of it. The collards were laying in salt water and kind of cold.

While I was eating another guy came in and was asking some questions about some stuff and everything the guy said to this other customer was a smartass remark of some kind. I didn't catch it all but the customer was asking about a rib meat sandwich and he was telling the customer they don't make rib sandwiches because they have bones in them and that you can't bite into a bone. He said this a couple times to the guy almost like he was making fun of him and finally the customer raised his voice and kinda yelled, "Look man, it's common sense you don't bite into a bone. Do you think I'm stupid? I was just asking because I've never been in here and I know a place that takes the meat off the bone and makes a sandwich out of it." The guy didn't say another word to the customer, not even thank you after handing him his food.

Don't bother with this place. If you wanted to have some fun though, you could go in here and ask the guy a bunch of dumb questions and enjoy his contempt and rage.

Incredible BBQ. Best I've had in Denver. Enjoyed the blues music and beer from Dry Dock next door. The people were polite.  Only thing I'd change is the lighting... it's so bright in there it feels a little like a fast food place... other than that, the place is perfect.

I'm not sure what to say about this restaurants except that the customer service here was the WORST I have experienced in all of the Denver Metro area. I was greeted, nay, I was approached by a very rude man who didn't even say hi or "may I take your order." He just stared blankly at the cash register until we decided to just give him our order. When asked to explain something he repeated his prior options as though I didn't hear him and ask him a more specified questions. We finished ordering and when asked if the combo's came with drinks he looked up at the board and said, "doesn't look like its written up there, does it...." What a jack-hole! I was half tempted to turn around and tell him not to worry! I should have because here comes the review of the food...

    Their menu states:
"It is not a twist on KC, Texas, Carolina,
Memphis or any other style BBQ.
We have taken what we like about BBQ
and restaurants and left out the rest."

Apparently, theyve taken everything negative about bbq and applied it so that it doesn't taste like classics such as KC, Texas, Carolina, or Memphis. I wonder why people have been bbq'in these types of recipes for YEARS?! Let's make "denver style" bbq.... Which is code for crappy BBQ.

Ribs: Dry and hardly any smoke flavor
Pork: Dry with no flavor, little seasoning, and again NO smoke flavor
Chicken: Again, do they know what a smoker even looks like?!
Brisket: Drop it from the menu because you butchered the whole idea of it! Who chops brisket into tiny bits to put on a sandwhich?!
Sides: Beans (guarantee came out of a can), Potatoe salad (no flavor and dry), mac n cheese (blah), cole slaw (definitely made with enough vinegar!).

I've had better bbq at Famous Dave's BBQ. If you're looking for extremely crappy service with a free side of attitude you've found the exact spot! You would think a couple idiots running the joint would WANT repeat customers and realize that someone might just make an honest online review of their establishment.

Whatever these "fruit" tree's they are using must have absolutely NO effects on their smoking process.... I mean I can't imagine why professionals haven't been using these tree's for decades when they smoke if they are so amazing.

3 stars removed for sh*tty service
2 star removed for BLAH FOOD
1 star added because the idiot behind the counter actually opened the door for the elderly man who made an order to go. At least he wasn't completely useless, he'd make a good door drop but I can definitely say he should leave the customer service and cooking to someone else!

While visiting Dry Dock (the Denver area's best brewpub), we needed some food and decided to try RevneD.  It took me a while to figure out that it's "Denver" spelled backwards!  Anyway, we were VERY pleased!  We got the slider combo so we were able to sample a little of everything - brisket, pulled pork, hot link, chicken, & ribs.  The chicken was just OK, but everything else was great!  Not too much smoke in any of the meats, just perfect.  The ribs were our favorite - a tasty dry rub and fall off the bone tender.  I don't know if they make their buns, but those were great as well.  I think they were pretzel rolls.  Prices were in line with any other BBQ place in town.  The slider combo was a great deal because it was plenty of food for both of us.  We'll definitely be back!

I am so confused. Why in the world does this place have so many stellar ratings? One star for combination of experience, price and quality of of food.

My boyfriend and I are regulars at Dry Dock and got hungry after a couple beers, so we finally decided to give RevneD BBQ a try. When we arrived, there was a family waiting for a large order, so we prepared ourselves for the potential wait.

The man behind the counter appeared to have nothing but contempt and disdain for us for even thinking of coming in and spending our money there, so we decided quickly on the slider combo with beans and order of short ends.

And then came the wait. And wait and wait and wait. We understood that there was a large order ahead of ours, but there seemed to be little to no movement going on in their kitchen. Another man came in and ordered the slider combo as well, and managed to be in and out in about 5 minutes -- always a biiig food service faux pas in my book.

After about 25 minutes of waiting, we got our food and went back to Dry Dock to eat. Verdict?
    Brisket: cold and tasteless.
Pulled pork: cold and tasteless. BBQ chicken: cold and tasteless
Sausage: we were convinced it was a Slim Jim sandwich
BBQ baked beans: more reminiscent of refried beans, absolutely no hint of BBQ whatsoever.
Short ends: burnt to no end. The meat we found was as dry as beef jerky, and as cold as it too.
Oh! And one rib, which had more cartilage than meat, and bone shards had to be picked out of what meat existed.

So. RevneD and your "Denver style BBQ," something's not working here. And from what I saw in the kitchen, it's all of your employees simply NOT WORKING. I'm completely willing to give good barbeque the wait it deserves, but when everything tastes like its been sitting on the assembly line since last night, I had better be in and out of there faster than McDonald's.

Always on the look out for a new place to eat BBQ and the daughter suggested RevneD, so why not.  It's a small place with around six tables.  Everyone ordered and I started out with old reliable, pulled pork which was very moist, smokey and had some bark on it, thoroughly enjoyable.  The plus was that the sauce came on the side and not on any of the meats.  The sauce was a little to sweet for my taste, but the girls liked it so we'll let it be. I also ordered the hot links which had a great taste, but the texture left a lot to be desired.  The sides were collard greens, a little too rough on the cut and didn't have a memorable taste and the cowboy beans that were more like a ranch bean than the baked beans, a pleasant surprise. It's a place that I will return to cause there's a few items left on the menu to try.

Was down here one evening for business and had to eat.  After a search for BBQ this came up.   I thought the food was great, the staff very good, and the prices great.

I will write more on this but RevneD is a def must if you are in the area.  We ate in and everything we had was very good and to order.   It was nearly 8 so they were out of some thing (like dessert).

I did not like this place at all. The sauce had a vinegar taste that I did not like. This is way over priced, I got the meal with 2 sides and then another meat and it was over $17.00. No bread and no drink in that price.

This place is pretty good... I'll skip right to the business :)

Pulled Pork: great... nice and moist, a hint of smokiness
Ribs: my 3rd favorite in Denver :) cooked just right but a little lean (get some extra sauce)
Chicken: excellent... wonderful flavor without being dried out
    Brisket: nothing special
Links: good old spicy links but nothing really to make them stand out from any others
    Sauce: good sauce with very mild flavor, good consistency; Not sure if they have a version with a little more bang available;
Coleslaw: Nice consistency with some very distinct notes of Mayo (without "swimming in it") :)
    Collard Greens: not very good

Some items are pretty reasonably priced, especially if you do the specials/sampler.  Definitely will come back to check out some more items when in the area!

The customer service was really lacking. Guy at the register seemed annoyed when we asked him questions about what some of the items on the menu were.  The food was ok. I'd say average. You really don't get a good serving. The mac and cheese was inside a tiny plastic cup that most places use to put spices in or sauces in when you take food to go. when other reviews mentioned this place being cheaper, I had the idea you are getting a deal because that implied to me that you would get a good servings worth for your money. The barbecue was average but nothing special. I've definitely had better for the same cost. Would have given another star if the guy didn't seem annoyed to take our orders.

Disappointing.  I was hoping to find a good barbecue place nearby.   I ordered a brisket and 2 sides.  My brisket came between 2 slices of bread, though I had not ordered a sandwich.  The amount of meat was scant, and worse, barely warm to cool.  The sauce was OK and the mac & cheese was good, but I didn't care for the beans.  All in all, If I'm in the mood to take a chance, I might go back, otherwise I'll make the trek somewhere farther and better.

    Question:
    Great BBQ in Aurora??

    Answer:
    Hell to the yes!!

After a yelp search, thought we'd  stop in for some 'Q on a Saturday night. Wife had cat fish, ribs and collared greens, I had brisket, hot links and, and Mac & cheese. Everything was delicious and portions were perfect. Give this 8 month new place a shot, you'll love it.

For the price, it's a fair meal. As per usual, I couldn't decide on just one thing *Queen of Indecision* so I thought I'd sample the sampler. Eating less than I used to these days, it was a lot of food of course and despite the fact that I didn't get a side I couldn't finish the whole thing. I had tried the pulled pork, the brisket and a rib. I think this another one of those places with an inflated Yelp rating because of the "hole in the wall" or "small business" factor.

The storefront was nice, clean and well kept. The staff is friendly.

I don't think I would go outta my way to stop back by in, but if I were making another trip to Dry Dock I might be willing to give them another try. You know, I liked the pork the best of the three. The brisket was excessively dry and the rib was nothing special. In any case, BBQ is one of those food types that has so many styles, that certain sauces and prep methods may not be for everyone. Because of that I'm not gonna say something like, "I didn't like the sauce" or "didn't care for the rub". I will say that when eating BBQ I like to have the option of using as much or as little sauce as I want, but here I didn't feel like I had the choice; everything was so dry.

To be fair, I have gone here 3 different times durring various shifts to try and get an overall experience.    The place is clean and I have always been greeted with repect and friendliness.

The Prices are a little low for most BBQ places in the area.

I have ordered the #1 and #2. each time I have gone in so I could try the different meats they serve.

Pulled Pork - Have had it on a sandwhich and stand alone.  Both times it was dry and non-flavorful.  It is almost like they are not putting any type of Brine or seasoning on the meat.  Or it could be the cut.

Brisket - Very moist;average smoke ring.  Ok alone, however pretty darn good with the sauce

Hot Link - This was the BOMB!  Nice and spicy, flavorful and the kick stays with you a long time.  To me this is their best thing on the menu.  Would have it again and again.

Chicken - This was pretty good.  Good flavor.  One time it was a little dry, however the other two times I have had it; the meat was nice and moist.

Side:  -   Over all I think the portions that come with the #1 and #2 are a little small.  You could raise the price and increase the portions and it would be ok.

Cowboy Beans - very good.  Nice flavor and smokey taste.

Mac-n-Cheese - My favorite.  Each time I have had this, it is never enough.  I wish I could have more.

Greens  -  Mixed reviews.  Each time I have had them they taste different.  Don't know if they are working on the receipie or what.  Not sure on this one.

Slaw -   I am not a biggie on slaw so it is ok for me.  Not fair to judge this one.

Buns and Rolls - Their bun is good.  Nice sice.  The rolls - just your average size.
Suggestion - would love to see a place serve corn bread.  Would go good with the Greens and the Cowboy Beans.

Overall - I see promise in this place.  I believe they are close to having a hit.  Hope to see it last. Definately worth a trip and a try.

RevneD BBQ Co, which is actually DenveR spelled backwards, is in Aurora. So congratulations Aurora, this one puts you on the map! Now I know there's some hospital and maybe a few other buildings or something, but so far, RevneD is really the best thing Aurora has going for it besides Brew Hut.

What RevneD does well in its tittle slice of strip mall is BBQ -- there's even a big old meat smoker out back. There are a handful of sauces to choose from and meet from pulled pork to chicken, with sides like potato salad. Unfortunately, I only had one of the sliders, but now that I know about RevneD, I'll be back to enjoy all the goodness.

i was visiting relatives in Aurora, I know good bbq when i taste it. the place was neat and clean, almost sterile, with no bbq smells (not how a bbq joint should smell).. The  customer service was something that was nonexistent. the person that took my order seemed like he was bothered when he took my order(maybe he just had a bad day.....) but can you afford to have a bad day when you are dealing with customers???, I think not!!!!.

secondly i ordered the combo# 2 Brisket, collard greens and potato salad.  I even ordered and rib on the side.  The brisket was below average at best, was moist but didn't have the ring that good brisket must have, and wasn't smoked Long enough. the collard greens were ok and the potato salad was not good too much mustard.

Pricing was a little low (first indication of the quality of food). I have learned over many years of tasting bbq, good smoked bbq is little more expensive because of the long smoking process involved in cooking it.  I love Denver and might move here, but I hope there is another bbq restaurant in town that can satisfy my taste buds.  The menu says "We have taken what we like about bbq and left out the rest".  Well maybe they left out too much...

Overall I didn't have a good experience at this restaurant...

Tip:  Always treat you customers as if they were your last, great customer service can even sometimes mask your food flavor

Ribs are super meaty, and smoked perfectly. Their sauce on the side has a nice vinegar bite. Flawless. If you are a bbq fan, what are you waiting for?

After reading the reviews on this site, we decided to visit RevneD and grab some takeout.  The staff was very nice and helpful.  Food was ready really quick.

I ordered the #2 combo with Brisket, beans & potato salad.  The meat was flavorful albeit a little fatty.  Very moist, tender and delicious.  The beans were by far my favorite thing I ordered... pinto beans with a nice little kick to them.  Potato salad was so good I wished I had more when my container was empty.

I'm definitely going back here.  I think next time I'm going to try their chicken since that was my 2nd choice.

We stopped by for a takeout order. We had the family combo with brisket, pulled pork, and hot links. Meat was very good quality and tasted great. Side dishes were good, especially the cowboy beans.
Owners were very friendly and the place was clean.
Good BBQ has been hard to find in Denver since Big Eddie passed away. I am a fan.

We stopped here today after picking up supplies at The Brew Hut. Very pleasant surprise! We got the family platter, which came with 3 meats and 4 sides. The brisket and rib tips were delicious, but my favorite was the hot links. Everything was smoky, tender, and not dry. The sides were wonderful, especially the collard greens and potato salad. I talked to the owner, and he said the meat is all cooked on charcoal and applewood - no gas or electric!

My only suggestion would be to move the smoker out to the front of the restaurant. The smoke would draw in slightly intoxicated Dry Dock patrons like a magnet.

    Yum!

    Food:
Smokey, moist, tender meats. They had a choice of chicken, beef brisket or pulled pork and one yummy BBQ sauce the day we went. The sauce is on the side.  You can control the amount but you will want to dump the whole thing on! It is a nice twist on a classic BBQ sauce, not too thick and sweet yet not too thin and vinegary, it was just right with a tiny little kick.
They also have ribs; we all got sandwiches. We each had a different meat and they were all very tasty. The sides are also very good too.

I had the mac and cheese. Traditional mac and cheese nothing fancy but well done. The greens were loved by my friends. The slaw was good but nothing special; I'd rather go for something else.

The special we had was $2.99, a slider and a side. Great value because the sliders were very generous.  A full size sandwich and side is about 7 bucks.

    Vibe:
It is bright and very clean with a few pictures of Blues and Jazz greats, they had Blues jamming when we came in. It took the guy a second to warm up but he was nice once he did. A lady, co-owner/manager type (not sure her role) came by our table and asked how we liked it and we all chatted for a while. She was very warm and nice.  This is a place you go for the food, that is the focus and they rock it. They are also very nice folks.

    Overall:
Super yummy! Great for Aurora which needs more good local places and less chains. I will go again and I know my friends who live in the area will be back as well. I will order to go and head over to Dry Dock Brewery, only a few doors down, and have BBQ and a beer.

Revned is a fantastic barbecue place in Denver/Aurora with some of the best sauce I have ever tasted.  I had the ribs with mac and cheese and my wife had the brisket with mac and cheese, both entrees were excellent.  A nice, simple, hole-in-the-wall place... Like a good barbecue place should be.  Service was friendly and fast.  I hope that business is good for them and that it stays open for a while.  With a brewery a few doors down I would think that would not be a problem.  I will be back!

The first night of our Aurora BBQ tour started off at RevneD. You won't find much ambience in the brightly lit RevneD, but what you will find is flavorful and tender meat. We sampled the brisket and ribs. The portions of our two meals were plentiful. The brisket pulled apart nicely but a little fatty in areas. You can order it on sliced white bread or a roll. My dad ordered the ribs and once I saw it fall off the bone, I went up to the counter and ordered a single one.

The rub and sauce on the slow cooked meet is what made this meal special. I had the opportunity to chat with the owner/chef and he told me about his sauce and what gives it the special flavor. The man has a fine-tuned sense of taste and knows his wines based on our brief conversation. His quest to make something great is evident in his approach. Mr. Rucker and his family are on to something here.

As stated in other reviews, the Dry Dock Brewery is a couple of doors down and you are welcomed to bring your meal there. If you are ready to treat your taste buds make an evening out of RevneD and Dry Dock.

We're not exactly much of a barbecue town here in Denver, which has suited me just fine because I'm honestly not much of a barbecue fan.  Hickory smoke isn't that great as far as I'm concerned, and I'm not terribly fond of the goopy, over-sweet goo they slather all over it in Kansas City either.  I've had great luck with vinegary, Carolina-style sauces, but never with KC-style sauce.

But we were buying a new homebrew kit at the Brew Hut next door, and the very nice fella who helped us suggested that we go get some BBQ at the new place a few doors down.  I honestly had no expectations and figured it'd do while we grabbed a beer at the Dry Dock brewery attached to the brewing store.

I was astonished to find some of the best BBQ I've had - nicely seasoned, smoked over fruit wood rather than hickory, served with a tangy, slightly spicy sauce on the side.  The pulled pork was moist, sweet, and very tasty, and the rib tips were crusty, succulent masterpieces of deeply caramelized meaty goodness.  The smoke is sweet and mild, letting the meat shine through, and not dehydrated and chewy as bad bbq can be.  My Brazilian wife, who doesn't like barbecue at all, said she loved it as well.  It was an unexpectedly brilliant lunch, and we'll absolutely be back.

It's a basic little place, as the best BBQ joints are, and obviously a family operation.  Service is basic but friendly.  My recommendation?  Get it to go and grab a beer at Dry Dock Brewery a few doors down - it's fantastic beer and goes great with BBQ.

AWESOME barbeque! I am so happy to see another family owned restaurant open up in this shopping center, since the Greek place closed. This place actually took its place.

The first time I went, I got the combo with one side. They have five meats to choose from, and a vegetarian portabello mushroom option. I got chicken, and my mom got brisket. Both meats were incredibly tender and flavorful. The barbeque sauce is served on the side, and was some of the best sauce I've ever had! It's has a little bit of a spicy kick to it, but its an awesome kick. Not too spicy, but it has a little bit of a smoky flavor.

When you get a combo, you also get a choice of a side. They have five sides to choose from, and we both got the mac and cheese. It was very tasty, and a decent sized little side.

Overall, I will definitely be back here again for some good barbeque. Much better than the chain barbeque I had a week ago, that was overly salty and tough. The folks here are really nice and asked us several times if we were enjoying our meal.

If you are looking for some great barbeque, come on down, folks!
