Best sangria ever. And the food is really good. My only complaint is that the portion sizes are enormous, consequently a little pricey. But so good.

If I could give this place ten stars, I would. I've been to many excellent restaurants around the world, including Michelin starred, etc. and yet, if I still had to pick one favorite restaurant, this would be it.
My family has been coming here for years, and even though I now live 3 states away, I make it a point to eat here whenever I come back. The flavors are phenomenal, the seafood is fresh and just really really well prepared. Ultimate favorites:
Appetizers - grilled jumbo shrimp - they have just the right bit of pepper and are beyond delicious. The garlic shrimp and mussels are both great, too!
Entrees: I love to order the seafood picadinho with Spanish potatoes as an entree (while dad is partial to the mixed picadinho), we all love the green mariscada, mom is partial to seabass. The seafood dishes are the most excellent and what I always order, but I have tried the meat dishes over the years, too, and they've been great also. If you drink alcohol, try the sangrias - both the red and the white are great. And we like to finish the meal off with some espresso for dad, the light and lively lemon sorbet (served in the lemon) for my son and me, flan for my brother's family, and tartufo (vanilla and chocolate ice cream in a hard chocolate shell shaped like a ball) for mom. If you're in the area, I highly recommend this place. Oh, and the portions are huge.

Two stars according to Yelp is "Meh, I've experienced better". To me, Ria-Mar is exactly that. Salt seems to be the prominent component of every dish, and also seems to be a recurring theme in these reviews.
I'll back up a bit... So we go there on a weekend and get seated next to the bar. This place is noisy! The atmosphere is nice, but cramped. Sangria was very good. Service was decent, nothing to brag about. The food as a whole was below average. I ordered fish and it tasted like it was in a salt water brine for weeks.
All in all, I will not go back. As Yelp says, Meh, I've experienced better. Go to Newark for some great Portuguese food, or around the corner at the Portuguese Fisherman.
