A friend of mine recommended this restaurant for the next time I was in town. It's easy to spot, as it is located in the Wal-mart shopping center. It is a small "fast-food" style restaurant perhaps best suited for take out & delivery orders, since the interior is kind of small. You do have the option of dining in, though, as they have a fair amount of tables to seat you. To order, you walk up to the counter and select from a wide variety of Chinese, Thai, and Hibachi-style foods, and they bring your order out to you when it is ready.
I sat in the pristinely clean dining area as it took a good minute before my to-go order was ready, but it was because everything was being made fresh. Why compromise taste over a few extra minutes? I ordered a bunch of food to-go, and everything was packaged nicely and put inside a box that was cut in half, horizontally, for ease of transportation. When I got home, everyone agreed that the quality food was delicious and not greasy or heavy like most Americanized Chinese food tends to be. I had the masaman curry and requested for them to add some heat to it and it was perfect. They didn't skimp on the chicken, though I wish they added some avocado on top, as most places do.
Prices were cheap, especially their lunch specials, and they offer a 10% student discount or free items when you spend $25+. For a fast food-type restaurant, their quality surpasses what one thinks those standards should be.
The only thing I think they could improve on is their Thai tea, which left a weird, bitter aftertaste.
I've convinced my parents to make Rice their new go-to Chinese restaurant close to work, as the other Chinese restaurant nearby went downhill after the chef changed.
