Rivah Syde

Yes, this restaurant has good burgers, but that's not all. I buy their egg salad by the pound, it's so good. I had their corned beef dinner on St Patrick's day and it was as good as the fanciest restaurant I know of (I'm from DC).

To be fair the food here is good, actually quite good.  However, I am leaving a low score due to the unoriginality and blatant copying of well respected staples of Charlottesville.

For those unfamiliar, Riverside is a well known classic of Charlottesville (two locations - Palmyra is essentially a suburb of Charlottesville) that serves greasy but exceptionally delicious burgers in a setting that Rivahsyde has mimicked almost completely.  Additionally, Rivahsyde introduced the Ken's Gus Burger, an obvious reference to The White Spot's Gus Burger featuring a fried egg on top of a delicious burger (a college hotspot that's been around since the 70's if not longer).  The ad in the local paper was laughable as it featured "Ken's" in small print just above "Gus Burger".

Rivahsyde serves excellent food and doesn't need to ride the coattails of Charlottesville classics.  The use of locally sourced beef is admirable.  I would actually frequent this establishment if they didn't try so hard to be someone else.

Nothing more than a cheap knock off to the original Riverside in Charlottesville which is beyond the best burger I have ever had. I don't usually waste my time or money on this place but my sister was in town and wanted to go. They overcharged me for my daughters kid meal, which was supposed to have come with a apple juice, never saw that either. When i pointed out that she rang me up for $1 more than the menu quoted she said, "yeah there are a lot of mistakes in there". I replied well you might want to change that. Even if someone wants to go there again i will simply talk them out of it and we will make the 20 min drive to go to the real Riverside, not the ghetto spelling copycat.
