Good pit meats and friendly owners. Looked a little sketchy but after checking the reviews we decided to try it out. We got the pit turkey and pork tenderloin which were both delicious and moist. The cream of crab soup was perfect, not too thick and had huge chunks of crab meat, YUM!! I'm glad we decided to stop here!
Review Source:I can honestly say the steak sub with the horseradish and barbecue on top, was the most delicious steak sub I think I've ever had. Their Mac and Cheese has bits of meat in it also, very good. Â I don't think I've had anything that was bad from this place. Prices could be a little less. Not by much, but the steak sub for example was $12, and came with no sides. It's good but should be $10, that's higher than anywhere for no sides included. It's good and I will continue to go there but they would probably have more business if they would adjust the prices. Guy who runs it is no nonsense, a little rough around the edges, but a nice guy who can cook.
Review Source:I grew up in PA and realized recently that pit beef is a regional thing, and that my husband has never had it. I stopped at Roger's during a visit home and I am so glad that I picked it for my husband's first pit beef experience. DELICIOUS. Perfectly tender, excellent horseradish sauce. I also got some crab soup to-go that was very hearty and well-made. The owner was extremely friendly and welcoming and I enjoyed chatting with him. I will definitely be making stops here during future visits to PA.
Review Source:Kind of a funky place with GREAT grilled and smoked meats and homemade sides. Pit beef was juicy, smokey and delicious, as was the smoked turkey. Prices were very good, particularly since there was enough meat on our sandwiches for two sandwiches. Â Try the 'Cow in Mud,' which sounds weird but tastes great. Â Only open weekends and a little out of the way but definitely worth the trip!
