Again, not sure why YELP only allows a minimum of 1 star for a rating. Â Places such as this deserve such a lower score. Â I know businesses put hours of operation up for a reason, but if you are not going to follow them, take them down. Â All you are doing is pissing people like me off that would like to have a glass of wine and enjoy some atmosphere.
Speaking of atmosphere, if I wanted to be part of the night club scene I would walk 2 doors down to the fantastically tacky so called clubs that litter the Kennewick downtown. Â You have such an opportunity to not only bring in a different clientele but be unique in your own way. Â Way to go for the gold.
To summarize this so called 1 star rating.... this place sucks and we will stop attempting to grace our presence in your establishment and do what we can to persuade people to stay away from your locked door during business hours.
The owners of this place can contact me at cashbeck@gmail.com if they would like to comment.
I WILL POST THEM ON YELP!!!!
I give this bar 5 stars because they have broken the mold in what you would think of as a wine bar.
The first thing that makes this bar unique is that they play only live original music. That is refreshing in a community filled with bars that are filled with cover bands. I Â lived in Austin for a time and this reminds me of the bars on 6th street.
Secondly, this club is exactly what you would think of when you you think wine bar. They have leather couches, tables spread out so you can relax and talk to your friends in comfort.
They have microbrews on tap and great pours on wine. I had a glass of their house red for 5 dollars and it was a huge pour, it looked like half a bottle.
I am sorry that Brian G. and Corey G. feel the need to complain about the music. Usually out front there is a reader board that shows if a band is playing that night.
I could go on and on about the Roxy but I will leave it to the next guy.
This venue is having some sort of identity crisis and it is apparent as soon as you walk in the door.
It smells like an attic with a hint of old incense and is filled with both relaxing spaces and then bright neon beer signs to give you a headache and take you right back out of the environment.
The music that was playing the night I visited felt like a urban hip martini club --- and then some sort of really loud band got up on stage and again.. Â took me out of a relaxing experience. Â
The whole experience was confusing and one of the people in my party left with a headache. Â I'll stick to other wine venues in town.
3.5 rounded up to 4. Wanted to hit up a wine bar and we were near downtown kennewick so we thought this place would be worth a shot. Its on the second level so you go in the door and then up a flight of stairs. First impression of this place was no bueno, you immediately see a neon coors sign when you start up the stairs. At this point I'm thinking "great. just great. a dive bar". Don't get me wrong, I'm down with the dive bars but I was in the mood for something a little nicer and a bit more relaxing. I still proceeded up the stairs apprehensively.
When I arrived at the top of the stairs, I was pleasantly surprised by a quiet, comfortable and inviting atmosphere (was a wed night). We ended up sitting on this comfy couch drinking wine and chatting until the place closed. Picked a bit at this antipasto plate but I just wasn't feeling it. Salami-like meats just aren't my thing I guess.
I typically associate downtown kennewick with drinking vokda redbulls while bumpin' & grinding in a loud sweaty club. It has its time and place sure; however, Roxy was a nice change of pace. Just 86 that neon beer sign por favor.
I would say this place gets 3.5 stars, but rounded to 3 because of the wine-by-the-glass selection. Not very good. A total of 3 red wines were offered by the glass, and a few whites. I had the Saint Laurent lucky red, which was okay. The music was kind of loud at times, though they did attempt to adjust went it got ridiculously loud. Charlie Chaplin movies were playing so that was fun. Overall, decent experience.
Review Source:This had been on my radar for a while. Â Made it here one night with friends, and we wanted to drop by before going dancing a few doors down, but they were closing.
Finally gave 'em another try during the Kennewick Art Walk last week. Â The space is definitely nice. Â Lots of seating with some couches which looked comfy. Â There is quite a selection of wine lined up for your perusal. Â They also had a few drafts of microbrews to choose from as well. Â
I must admit what drew us in this eve was an old Charlie Chaplin film projected on one of their walls. Â [Errr...are we in Seattle?]
Had a good time here, and definitely saw some potential, but what brought it down a star was the music for the evening. Â They had a 3-person band in the house who were there for their "practice". Â Maybe I'm turning into Mr. Oldie McGrumpington, but these dudes were playing LOUD (and I just wasn't feeling their music). Â Something a little more chill (DJ or jazz trio) would have been a better choice.
Oh well, this places is definitely worthy of another chance.
