I love diners. Â Love them. Â From their small town feel to their random decor and ecelctic cusomers, so I couldn't wait to try Ruby and Ketchys. Â I was horribly disappointed. Â We waited 35 minutes for two orders of scrambled eggs and when we got them they were actually swimming in a pool of grease and just shy of ice cold. Â There was one waitress for the entire restaurant on a Sunday at 10am...and although she was incredibly nice, we still waited 35 minutes for scrambled eggs. Â The coffee was slow in coming and not very tasty, and the bacon that we ordered with the eggs was 80% fat and ice cold. Â So much so that the grease had started to congeal. Â IHOP is a million times better!
Review Source:A friend recommended that we try Ruby & Ketchy's, and it really is a great hole in the wall diner! Â We were hoping to get breakfast on a Sunday morning, but we missed their breakfast menu by 20 minutes (FYI they stop serving breakfast at 10:45am). Â Because we were hankering for something more like breakfast food, we ordered fried egg sandwiches with cheese, bacon, and home fries on the side. Â Perfect. Â We will definitely be going back.
Review Source:This is a hole in the wall diner. I went there with a couple friends and their two children for dinner. The price is cheap, and the food is fresh. Everything that we ordered was good. Our party ordered a hamburger, chicken club sandwich, egg and ham sandwich, and the kids had fish nuggets and chicken nuggets. They were all delicious. I was so surprised as I did not expect the food to be this good from such a place. We would be back for breakfast for sure.
Normally I would give a 3-star rating but I bumped it up a star for cheap prices, fresh food (most diners use frozen food), and the vegetable soup was fresh tasting and not salty.
