Mutt's Sunnyside

I've loved Mutts for four years. It is the primary hangout bar for residents of the "Sunnyside" neighborhood, and those associated with these residents. The specials are usually pretty good, with drafts from $1-3 (Yuengling, Bud light, Bud select, Natty, Guinness, Shock Top, to name a few). Known for their Irish Trash Cans and Wasakoki (multitude of Cruzan rums) drinks, drinking here is inexpensive, and the music varies from classic rock, to rap, to country. The bar owner, George is there on a very regular basis, and can be seen talking to the customers or behind the bar himself. It is evident that the man loves his bar, and all who enter it (and behave). The staff is almost entirely male, and excessive belligerence is not tolerated, though if you're a regular it may be encouraged. There is parking in the back if you get there early enough, and cover ranges from $2-4. The owner often donates cover to a charitable cause, such as the local club sports teams, buying kevlar vests for police dogs, selling shamrocks for children's cancer, etc. Overall, Mutts is your typical dimly lit sports bar, minus the food. Big perks also include the free billiards, wii bowling, spinning wheel of specials on wednesdays, and the furnished outdoor porch where smoking is permitted.

Mutt's is THE bar in Sunnyside, the student section of Morgantown. If you get past the exterior and the slanted floor, Mutt's is actually quite a nice bar. There are wood floors, good places to sit, and plenty of TVs to watch the game. In the summer, there's also a very nice deck outside (Plus, most of the students are gone).

Some of the quirks include employees who check the bathroom for damage after you leave.

Since, I don't go to real school, one of my favorite pastimes has been to visit the 'classic' college bar at real schools. Currently, I am visiting a good friend from West Virginia, and we have been doing a tour of the local places of drunken debauchery.

Sheep-fucking hicks aside, I really liked this bar and the town in general. 3$ Yuengling's all night, free pool, a really solid selection of music all night. However, the best part of this bar, and bars in this area in general, is the fact that you can smoke cigarettes INDOORS. It was really awesome.

Makes me wish Bloomberg wasn't such a smoke nazi.
